Server couldn’t answer any questions about serving size, how to operate the grill for the bbq, didn’t bring the sauce which is part of the bibimbap dish (my mother’s order on Mother’s day) and the appetizer came out after the main courses were brought out. They will tell you the $85 small bbq order is for 3 people to get you to order the large. But the small easily feeds 4-5 people. The meat wasn’t seasoned well/enough so beef was very non descript. Automatic 18% tip for our party of five. Sad because not many options for Korean food in town and I’ve tried to give them multiple chances but this is the same experience again and again, which is why you don’t see many Koreans eating here.

Extremely expensive vs what it was at the beginning of the year. Was charged $40 for both of my kids to eat with us (ages 3 and 4) the most we’ve ever been charged anywhere, including FOGO and other AYCE places. For 2 adults and the 2 kids it was $170 plus gratuity was included. It took 15 min to take a drink order. They didn’t have anything for kids to drink aside from lemonade.

Party of five - 3 adults and 2 kids. We had the Special BQ. A large combination of pork and beef. Five really tiny sides. Included rice for 4 people. We paid an extra $5 extra for 5 extra plain old mushrooms . We paid extra for one more bowl of rice. Extra for drinks. The cost was about $283 with tip. There were only a hand full of other customers. A lot of staff not particularly helpful or welcoming. Other then turning on the grill, it was a diy event. The meat was good, but I doubt I'd be back to pay that much for one meal. It didn't feel very special. We've had better Korean bq experiences at other restaurants.

Went on a Monday evening (mostly empty, which may be why it was quiet). Had been before at their prior location. Ordered the large beef combo Korean BBQ (for 3 of us). General comments: service was good, food was good -- brisket and ribeye particularly so, also excellent Mandu. The rest was a bit weaker -- limited banchan and weak on the sauces. Disappointing that they charged for banchan refills (though only $1, very odd to deliver a tiny portion for 3 people and then charge). Overall, a good experience; worth repeating but not comparable to the better korean BBQs I've been to in other cities.

There didn’t seem to be anyone in charge of the dining room. We had to go and get a waiter, because nobody appeared at our table. When we needed more napkins, we had to go find them ourselves. This didn’t seem to be due to lack of staff. The restaurant space is barn-like , with a very high ceiling. It is very aggressively lot with harsh, bright light. That said, the food was delicious. We especially liked the bulgogi, shrimp, marinated spare ribs, and the japchae. The in-table grill for the barbecue items worked well. The Kim chi was great, but the other bonchon (side dishes for the barbecue, we’re not very appealing.

Very busy when we first arrived so service was slow to start with. It cleared out soon after and the service was top notch. Food was very good, we had everything from sushi, Korean BBQ, to entrees. Tried some baked sushi rolls that we didn't care for, but the traditional rolls were great! KBBQ was excellent, and the entrees were good (rice noodles had a bit of a plastic flavor, but never had them before so I don't know if that's just how they taste). First time trying Soju, it was tasty. Looks like it had a full bar when you walk in, but no bar drinks available, just beer/wine. Not sure if its because they didn't have a bartender. We had a group of 7 and they scooted a couple tables together for us. They had some Korean background music playing on the TV, it was kinda neat to watch for a couple minutes.

Last minute dinner plans with a friend. There’s three different dining options: KBBQ, AYCE sushi, and “regular.” We ended up sticking with the KBBQ menu, and it ended up being a LOT of food. They recommended a small combo for 2 people, but it was so much food that we could’ve easily fed a third. The entrance isn’t where you think. It’s a small path by the paid parking lot, and up stairs one floor. I didn’t see an accessible elevator. Also the bathroom is shared with the building, and downstairs. Again there doesn’t appear to be an accessible elevator for people with mobility issues.

I’m not sure the sashimi I had was sushi grade. The tuna was full of so much dye, the sashimi was not very fresh, and the maki rolls where full of cheap crab salad. I am more satisfied by grocery store sushi….which also isn’t $100 for two. Service was very slow. Had to order at the host desk. I won’t go back.

We were very pleased with our experience at Dong Hae Korean Grill and Sushi. We ordered the small Korean BBQ which was the perfect size for 3 of us. He had not had Korean BBQ before the the server was extremely helpful for us - explained everything in a polite, not condescending, way. We will definitely go back and bring friends!

I have made 184 reservations made and 8,000 points earned on Open Table and so far Dong Hae Korean Grill and Sushi is on top of my WORST list. They charge an automatic tip of **22%**, 18% for tip and 4% to help recoup covid losses ( wasn’t the stimulus checks and Restaurant Revitalization Fund were for?) 2. “High school girls” run the restaurant- three of them to be exact- they did the job of seating guests, taking orders, delivering food to the table and cleaning up table. They are understaffed, overworked and undertrained. ( Who would want to work for these employers?) 3. We arrived on time and had to wait a long time because none of the three were available to clean tables… then they FORGOT about us. 4. We ordered 2 water and 1 ginger ale… we got the 2 glasses of water and they FORGOT the ginger ale. We asked and asked. It finally arrived almost towards the end of dining. 5. We asked for another serving of rice, they FORGOT it. It arrived BEFORE the ginger ale. 6. The soups are too SALTY. 7. The meat is bland. Frozen. 8. Parking policy is confusing, there is a sign on the door that you need to pay parking. The paper table mats says it’s free- but you already paid for it once you read the notice on the door. I paid over $200 for the meal for 3 people. It is NOT worth-it. For a better barbecue experience I recommend GYU KAKU.
