Always a great experience. This is our first time for Sunday Brunch and we had a large party. Everyone enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere.
The restaurant was under capacity (maybe 1/4 full) for Easter brunch and it took 15 minutes to be seated, even though we had a reservation. It then took over 20 minutes to receive a drink (even water with ice). The service was terrible.
This place was amazing as always!
Donetto transported us to Tuscany. The food was creative and delicious.
Great food great service loved every thing about the place
Delightfully creative takes on robust Tuscan cuisine paired with knowledgable and patient service made this a memorable dining experience. A smoldering chic atmosphere punches up the old Italian roots into the realm of trendy Atlanta hotspots. Easily one of my new favorites in town, and I will definitely be back.
I was unaware that they recently hired a new executive chef, so the menu changed. My favorite dish was no longer on the menu, so I opted for the bucantini. I would not suggest this dish.
Focaccia and steak Florentine were outstanding. Excellent bar with a good wine list. Tried two deserts, both pretty ho-hum. Hint to management...a free side of cannellini beans isn't an appropriate birthday recognition gift.
I’m not a huge Italian food lover but really enjoyed my time here. The Tempranillo was probably one of the best I’ve had.
I was in last night to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday and we had the most amazing time! Our server Sam was very knowledgeable and attentive, definitely made the night consistently fantastic. The food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful. It was our first time and we would for sure love to be back!!
Chris Williams was wonderful, very knowledgeable and friendly. The host, Kyle was welcoming and sat us promptly.
Restaurant vibe was very relaxed and seats were comfortable. Server was very knowledgeable and helpful on menu and attentive during our meal. Food was great.
I might say that our dinner (two couples) was a comedy of errors, but it really wasn't funny. After confirming by phone earlier in the day that we had a reservation for eating on the patio, we arrived to be told by the person at the desk that they'd give away all of the outdoor tables to walk ins and they'd be happy to seat us outside. Not ok. It was a beautiful evening. Inside is physically attractive but high volume. we walked out to contemplate what to do, when the manager came over to apologize and promised to have a table for us within a half hour. He brought us a drink, which was appreciated. Half hour went by, then another half hour, with no effort on servers or managers parts to entice the diners to leave (for example, we thought they might offer them a drink at the bar if they'd be willing to give up the table). finally, our table was ready. we were happy to be seated only to realize about 10-15 minutes later that we'd not been given menus and each server we asked said that they were not our server. finally, we essentially cornered one of the servers and convinced her to take our order. More apologies from the managers. Offers to bring us food - by then we were beyond starving - followed by more long delays. In the end, we were the only diners left on the patio, temperature dropping, and servers brought us numerous dishes beyond what we ordered. one more error - the server missed one of our four entree orders. so the delivery of that dinner was substantially delayed. OK - here's the good news. and it's very good - the servers and managers were all very kind. most important - the food was outstanding. Fresh, creative, interesting little variations on typical preparations. So go for the food and hope to not have the major series of snafus that we experienced.
The people were very nice however the cost of food for the value did not leave me satisfied. I will take my money elsewhere to get bigger bang for my buck. Would be a great place for just drinks and appetizers, but I would recommend passing for main dish and dessert.
EXCELLENT service, food and atmosphere! Our waiter was FABULOUS!
much better than i expected! the sides are nice and the steak is exceptionally tender. just wish there's tagliatelle and risotto.
This is the fourth time I have eaten at Donetto and each time it seems to get better. Service and food is always stellar. Always sit outside, inside is a bit noisy.
Delicious food and excellent service. We went with a group of six and they were able to accommodate us with a last minute reservation. From the appetizers to desserts, everything was cooked and flavored to perfection. Two of our friends shared the BIG steak for two and loved it. I added scallops to the capellini nero with shrimp dish and devoured my entire meal! The focaccia is a MUST for an appetizer. I can't say enough great things about our experience. Try it out!
We love going to Donetto’s before the theater. Great food and fabulous service!
Food was delicious. Our server Courtney was awesome. So glad to find this restaurant!
We did the tasting. It was very good.
Loved the food overall. If anything slightly over salty. But great.
Fantastic rare Date Night before a show, we kind of had the place to ourselves at 6ish on a Sunday. It made for a memorable experience even as it filled up as the evening passed.
Wonderful service. Really, spectacular. Sure she was a senior lead who had been there since opening and knew the place from back to front, but she also had a excellent "feel' for the table. My wife has some food issues that were artfully addressed (she and my wife take credit for the octopus being in the squid ink instead of shrimp), and when the chef declined to serve us a braised item because he thought it was not up to par, the Mgr immediately informed us and provided a wonderful detour. She was attentive and conversational, knew the menu thoroughly, recognized the pacing tempo, knew that used flatwear needs to be taken away, quickly made dish recommendations with a personal connection. She was top shelf.
Is the Food truly epic? Few, I mean FEW, places really deserve the highest accolades when it comes to the food, and this one rests with the number of very fine restaurants across the city which make strong showings but fall honestly and openly short of a Micheline 3. ITS STILL REALLY REALLY GOOD and easily in the top tier of Atlanta's "Fine Dining" category. Its top notch hand crafted Italian food.
But the service is what really made it, and always does at the better places. I am more impressed by the service level provided (despite the 20 odd locations this group operates) than anything else and that earns my business as much as the food.
Chris and Sam were awesome! The bottomless Bellinis hit the spot and the kitchen was kind enough to make my fav donuts even though they weren’t on the menu. Every experience I’ve had at Donetto has been wonderful- from date night, to a large work dinner and now a girls’ brunch, Donetto always does a fabulous job!
My husband and a friend and I tried to Donetto for the very first time. We ate a lot, all of it was delicious and lovely.
The setting is very nice and we all enjoyed ourselves.
We will go back. Pam Hughes
lovely experience. would go again
I love Donetto! The ambience is very cozy and relaxed. The food is just amazing! I love everything on the menu. Def try the focaccia as a shared starter!
Great service and waiter! He had glasses I think and served us in the room next to the bar.
Great food and location and service!
The food was underwhelming. It was out 1st time to Donetto; we went for brunch. Both dishes were too salty and was the main tone. I ordered the trout w/everything bagel (I was told they make their bagels) and it came with fresh dill, smoked trout and cream cheese mixed with herbs. It was served on a large blue plate. Salt city. There was not enough other accouterments on the bagel or served on the side to tone down the salt. The other dish was the gnocci stuffed with crab. Salty. The restaurant is beautiful, but there is something missing.
It took awhile to get our table set up, we had 8:30pm reservations and didn't get seated until after 9pm.
Excellent Place for a Date Night!
I took my husband here for dinner for his birthday and I really appreciated them telling him happy birthday and bringing him a wonderful dessert as a treat! Our server was very informative about the menu and everything we ate was so delicious! We LOVED the fried peppers - so.damn.good!
Great Place, Great Food, Will be back soon!
Staff and service were exceptional. It was very, very loud and hard to hear each other. Some of the pastas were a bit salty but overall good was superb. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic food, fantastic service.
Our second visit to Donetto! Just as good as the first time. Great atmosphere and awesome food. Had Raviolis again because they are amazing. Love their signature cocktails, desserts are worth saving room for.
Donetto is a place in the Westside of Atlanta (Brady Ave). First impressions was that it was a busy place. Sat at a table very close to kitchen. Asked to be moved, no problem. Manager even stopped by new table and asked if everyone was ok. Dinner was delicious. Chicken Liver appetizer, quail stuffed raviolo and crab pasta. Dessert was very good. Seemed more like a french restaurant than Italian. Very heavy buttery sauce but delicious nevertheless. Would I go back? Absolutely!
Chloe our server was outstanding. I travel for a living and she was among the top servers I have ever had.
The food was amazing the bellinis were fabulous it was very nice atmosphere. Me and my friend had a great time ! We will be returning .
Unfriendly bartenders kept us waiting for several minutes without greeting us on Saturday night. We had to flag them down for menus and water. They charged the wrong amount ($80) to our credit card for one $15 drink and instead of letting us go to our table for dinner while they worked out the error, we were told to wait at the bar on the manager because “he was busy with someone else” at the time. This was our third and last visit to the restaurant. Food was lackluster on top of poor service.
