Great food and great service. Great value on price as well.
Wonderful experience and amazing food! Great for a simple date night or for a group of people. Next time I will for sure try the chef’s special for $49/person. Overall, amazing Italian food and wonderful service!
There are quite a few new eateries opening on Brady St in W Midtown, and Donetto would be on the top of my list for food quality. The pastas were fresh, the staff professional and friendly, and the wine list, while not extensive, was very good quality. Well worth a visit!
Great food. Quality service.
Very slow service -
They stuck us in the corner. Waitress was helpful. Focaccia was not done. Crispy on top and too soft inside. Parmesan butter and eggplant for the focaccia was good. Very dark. Overall a good experience
This was our second visit to Donetto. The first time was with a large corporate group over the holidays. The food, service and atmosphere were all very nice then.
We took our college aged kids there. The music volume was extremely loud. I’ve never been to a nice restaurant with such noise before. I asked the host to have them turn it down. Barely made a difference.
As for the meal. Everything (Sweet Potato Ravioli, New Bedford Scallops with Mushroom Farrotto, Agnolotti with Duck, Butternut Squash) was swimming in butter/cream and excess salt. It felt more like rich French cuisine than what we’d come for: Italian! Rich heavy food that after a few bites, you just can’t eat anymore. So we took the leftovers home. The next day the boxes had a layer of hardened butter on top.
On a positive note, our waiter was delightful. The desert we all split (Torta Olivia) was light and not too sweet.
Excellently prepared fresh food. Great service. Fast. Spot on
Chris our server was awesome and it was a great experience from hello to dessert. Hostess was polite attentive and very helpful and the food was fantastic. This has easily got to be one of my favorite spots and my intown go-to! Thank you!!
Really outstanding experience all around. I'd recommend Donetto to anyone.
The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful!
This was our first visit and we came with expectations for savory, fresh and plentiful Tuscan fare. The industrial ambiance was comfortable enough but music was too intense for early Sunday brunch as it bounced off the bare metal pipes and made conversation a bit strained. There was seating outside in the sun too, facing the road. It should be named "Donnetto's Small Menu, Small Drinks and Small Plates". The nice waiter cautioned against the portion size of one menu item so we thought the other offerings would be OK. Not. Bloody Mary came in a short tumbler crammed with ice and garnish which made it impossible to drink without disassembling ...three sips and gone. The Bellini was satisfactory and there was a "bottomless" option. Besides the mini-me portions all around, the food and presentation were so lacking, you wondered whether the chef had slept in. Italian Toast was nothing like the egg-soaked, buttery, sugar-powdered dish I craved. It tasted like dry, plain bread with with a few shakes of cinnamon powder and honey drips. Yet a scoop of gelato to the side was delicious. Pepper Scramble looked like a couple of scrambled eggs with ground pepper and one slice of toast laid on top. Spaghetti in an unexpected Alfredo-like white sauce was also forgettable. Applause for the smooth dark roast French Press coffee which was plenty for 3-4 people .
This place was amazing! My wife and I went there on a date and the food was absolutely out of this world! We cannot wait to go back there.
Delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommended.
We had great service and attention from the staff! Highly recommend Donetto’s to all!
The wife and I tried Donetto for my birthday. It had been recommended by friends, and this was our first time. We love Italian food (the real kind), and admittedly can by kind of picky. Often our first impression of a new place is informed by how well they execute their Caeser salad, and Donetto did not disappoint. Beautifully presented and delicious. Table-side service would have been a nice touch, but I'll give them a pass because it tasted so good. My wife loves carbonara, so we were happy to see it as a pasta option. Few places can pull it off well (some, like Princi, are almost comically bad), but Donetto was spot on. Creamy, eggy, flavorful, and perfectly al dente. We were torn between ordering a second pasta dish or a protein, and opted for the steak (it was my birthday, after all). Again, very well executed. Cooked exactly as ordered, and delicious. To nit pick, I found the sauce to be a little overpowering, so had to use it very sparingly to enjoy the flavor of the meat itself. We finished off the meal with a complimentary dessert and espresso. In addition to the excellent food, we both agreed the service was excellent as well. We will most definitely be returning to Donetto again soon.
This place is fine and the food was good—not great—but it feels like a place that could be in the suburbs of Anywhere, USA. The interior is tasteful, impersonal and bland. Feels like a weirdly homogenized dining experience in what is a very interesting part of town. Service was competent and prompt; the bartender mixed a decent (again, not great) cocktail. There’s nothing wrong with this place but there’s also nothing interesting enough about it to make me want to return.
Waitress spilled half of drink and still charged us. She forgot to bring appetizer. She didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks the entire time. Host was lovely and food was delicious.
The food was ok and at a fair price. Service wasn’t anything special. Ambience was by far the selling point. Had a fine dinner, wouldn’t go back.
Service was great. The specialty drink did not wow me. More shredded ice in glass than the drink. Crustini was one piece of 1” thick Tuscan bread too hard to cut up to share - I should have requested they cut it up for us. It was wasted because of that. Bucatini was alright but I’ve had better locally. I just was not wowed at all by the food for the price.
Great brunch experience! My wife and I enjoyed the bottomless bellinis and the pasta brunch options. The service was very good (fast, polite, professional and attentive). The space is comfortable and modern as you would expect with most west midtown choices. The crowd was diverse for brunch, ranging from casual groups of friends to slightly more formal family outings.
We had an excellent time at Donetto (as we have before). The food is solid. The environment is refined, but casual enough to be enjoyable. Their cocktail program is one of the better in the city. It's an excellent addition!
Food was top notch and the service was just as good if not better! Dinner proved to be better than the symphony!
Food was a little too salty but overall great.
Great food, drinks, and service!
Outstanding service. The meal was excellent
Amazing experience. Took VP and Region Director for business dinner.
Cocktails we had werer Tea Thyme & Sweater Weather. Perfectly balanced. You know cocktails are great when everyone re-orders their drink more than once.
Food was exceptional as well: apps, pastas and entrees were perfectly execute.
Def. recommend the burrata, ravioli, agnoloti and the fresh catch.
Service was on point
Came to Donetto for my fiancé’s birthday. Each dish wasn’t more flavorful than the last! Also loved the creative cocktails.
Great way to celebrate a 40th and 58th birthday! Our waiter was outstanding
Go for the pasta. Eat at the bar. We've eaten at this restaurant a couple of times before, but recently revisited it on a Friday night since it's in our neighborhood. We really enjoyed eating at the bar. The service was fantastic, and the bartender was great at suggesting food items, cocktails and wine to enjoy. The baby octopus appetizer had great flavor, though the octopus was chewy. We shared the all'amatriciana pasta and it was delicious and reminded us of Italy. The chicken entree, however, lacked both flavor and character. For a roast chicken, it was very pallid in color, void of any seasoning, and dry. Even a spritz of lemon would have helped make this dish more appetizing. We recommend sticking with the pasta—and the drinks.
Had friends in town and invited them here. Start to finish an outstanding event. Perfect and friendly staff, amazing food. Did family meal option, best value and plenty of food. Everyone left happy.
I feel like this is the best Italian in the city right now. Been to all the Italian places people rave about, and so far both of my visits to Donetto have been far better. The bucatini is incredible. And the cocktail menu is spectacular, which is key for me. :) Parking is easy, service is great, ambiance is very cool. I'm a fan.
It was our first time in and our server Alex went above and beyond to make sure our experience was AMAZING!
We got the Eggs in Purgatory and it was light, yet rich and very flavorful. We also got the spaghetti with bacon, egg yolk & parm. It was the perfect meal to have to the bottomless bellinis, which were only $10. The service was amazing, along with the decor. Can’t wait to go back.
I went here for the first time at the beginning of the year and loved it. This trip, I found the experience less enjoyable. Service was great, free parking was awesome, ambiance was cool but the food was not as good. I was in a party of 5 and most of us didn’t enjoy our brunch. My favorite, the lemon ricotta pancakes have been removed from the menu and replaced by an “Italian” toast which I found rubbery and lacking in taste. The egg scramble was good enough and the drinks were good but overall not worth the $36 I paid. Not sure I’ll be going back 😕
Superb! I enjoyed the meal I had there.
It was an amazing experience! The food was great, our waiter was fantastic and the cocktails were delightful !
Hostess sat us in undesirable table by door and was reluctant to move us though the restaurant was not full and never got full. Otherwise service was good
Great date environment
