Everything was great, except out waiter was pretty condescending. He was a little rude asking for our IDs (which i understand not wanting to serve anyone underage and feeling the need to be stern about it if unsure) and it felt like he did not treat us with the same respect as he might have had with an older party. Once we finished out meal and were sitting, drinking the last of our coffee and finishing up, he asked for the signed copy of our check which was just an unnecessary thing to do. It just felt like he was annoyed by our presence the entire time and wanted us to leave when we did nothing to deserve it. Otherwise the food was amazing and we had a great time.
I first noticed the restaurant from driving by. We greatly enjoy tapas and Latinx food. I was glad to see free parking provided and a way to make reservations for even a smaller party of 3. We went for my wife's birthday on a Saturday and arrived promptly for our 6:30 reservations. We saw a limited space with 3 open tables for 4 each, and some smaller spaces in 2 or 3 spots. Despite that where to seat us seemed a challenge that took about 10 min to resolve. When we asked about the open tables we were told they were reserved for a party of 8...?! They found a 3rd bar chair to add to a smaller table, cramped, at the entrance. By the time we were done...great food, great server...2 parties of 4 had been seated, w the 3rd table still empty. Was awkward all around. It was pretty loud...music mostly. Not sure there was the same range and variety offered on the menu as was online under menu.
Service was really slow. Waited too long for waiter, waited too long for drinks. Waiter recommended the deep fried red snapper which was a major disappointment. Dangerous to eat full of tiny bones. “Salad” it came with was literally a few scraps of spring greens. We were celebrating a special birthday and they did t even bring over the special firework dessert. Total bust. Will never return
Had seen other reviews that warned that reservations times are not always met, but was a bit frustrated to splurge on an Uber in order to be on time and then be told to sit in a hallway and wait
This place is beautiful! Came here with a large party to celebrate my fathers birthday. They were welcoming from the time you enter the reasturant and seated us promptly. The overall ambiance, music and vibe is EXCELLENT!
The downside food is good drinks are GREAT, especially the passion fruit mojito my absolute favorite. BUT 1) you can’t substitute ANYTHING! I mean not even exchange one veggie for another. You get exactly what you order so if you happen to have an allergies, sucks for you. We were told the cook doesn’t like to make changes. I think it’s a ploy to get pple to spend more money on sides! For the price of some of the plates, I’d think you should be able to make some adjustments (I’d pass on the fufu. Came towards the end of my meal and wasn’t worth it) 2) Although the waitress was very nice she wasn’t very attentive and I noticed that it was like that with most of the guest around. No one really checked on their tables to see how people were doing, if we needed more drinks etc. We were asked once if everything was ok. Again, this appeared pretty standard across guest at other tables. Customer service could improve.
I would go back for drinks and appetizers to check out the bar side which had really good music and seemed like a nice vibe. Overall, It’s a nice place.
Was really nice and fast. Plus Yvette was awesome. See you soon
Excellent, food was well presented and very good. Stayed afterwards for the live music.
Dona Habana was the right place to celebrate my birthday...good vibes and food.
The food was good and the staff was nice, it seemed like an authentic Cuban restaurant which I liked. The only issue was there was some problems getting us seated even though we had a reservation and we had to keep going back and forth between different hosts for about 10ish minutes before we finally were able to get seats
Our server was very rude and every time 1 person would give her an order she would peel of and without collecting all of the orders. The drinks were tasty, but not as strong as usual - left with no buzz. The tres leches is amazing!!!
All in all, I’ll stick to going in the evening - the day staff’s service isn’t as great
The food and the presentation of the food was outstanding, alitttle pricey but i believe many factors are cause of that. Hope that this restuarant can stay stay arounfd for a long time. Great for a date night!
Way too noisy/ music too loud. I was sent to front half of restaurant because I was a single. This 55 yo female eating alone did not want to be in a nightclub volume bar area. My order was not taken timely, then drink arrived tasting awful, after meal delivered. Food was great, bar drink was awful and bar tender tried twice, still failed. This was a very disappointing experience.
Loved the vibe. Service was quick and the music was great. It’s a bit pricey but overall a great experience.
Went there for a friend’s birthday. Reservation was for 8pm but didn’t get sat until 8:30, we asked for bigger table but they said it’s for VIP only or we’d have to pay $1000 to sit there. Ridiculous, because it was 8 of us and we needed a large table and didn’t want to be squished into a booth which we did. Our server never came, we have to complain. We ordered drinks and apps and it took forever to come. Then we ordered dinner around 9:30 and food didn’t come out until after 11:10pm which then the birthday girl left because she was too upset with the service and having been there for hours and not being able to eat. This was the worst experience Iv ever had at a restaurant!
I think that everything is about the restaurant itself and not their guests. The waiter was constantly pushing me to get my order. It was definitely annoying and disrespectful. I won't come back again. The idea if dining out is to enjoy the food and drinks and have interesting conversations. If I want to have fast food or a drive thru, I would have chosen a different option. Very dissapointed.
The what do leches dessert was not very good. Should have been a better presentation. It didn't look appetizing.
My first time and won’t be the last.. love the ambience and style, can’t wait to return soon.
Outstanding service, delicious food, great location and Cuban style atmosphere
The menu and creative spirits were wonderful. Our empanadas, salads, and seafood were very fresh, crisp, and excellently prepared. The service was excellent and also very helpful in choosing our mojitos and dishes we had not, experienced before. Great value and very warm, comfortable atmosphere. Loved it and will definitely return on our next trip to Boston.
Amazing service and amazing food. Really enjoy the atmosphere and drinks.
Great food, drinks and ambiance but the price of everything was a lot more than I thought it should be.
Great drinks! Great food! Amazing coffee!
Service could’ve been better. Waiter wasn’t really polite and seemed detached. Food and ambiance were amazing though.
We came for a birthday and the food was great. I had the fried snapper, and it was delicious. The waiter was EXCELLENT, the hostesses were less so, but all in all it was a great time and we will absolutely be back.
Had the best time. The food was great. The music was great. The servers were super kind.
It's a great place for a celebration! We had a very good time. The servers were nice and professionals. We will definitely come back!
I thought service was awful. Being so close to Boston, I thought it would be closer to the service you can typically experience IN the city. It took FOREVER in between courses AND drinks. Our bill could have been much higher if she had been on top of serving our drinks. We did an app & entree each plus a birthday dessert. I probably wouldn’t go here again strictly bc of the service
First time experience and it was amazing! Our waitress was terrific! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was great. Definitely coming back.
It was a really good vibe. Even when it was 11pm no one rushed us out the door.
Our most recent visit was to celebrate my birthday. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional and the ambiance, as always, warm and inviting!
We've been here four times over the past could of years. It's good fun with nice rum drinks and very good Cuban fare. The ceviche, the fish on a stick, the empanadas and the veg paella. The waiter, Wil, is excellent and I particularly like that he asks / is able to accommodate either English or Spanish. It's a nice touch. Live music on Saturday night, the place was packed.
Xavier was a great server. Lovely meal and fun time. Cool spot. Local community folks and hotel and irhercvisitors. Fun and vibrant scene. Go.
Dona Habana can be a fun place to go! Wish other people’s kids were not allowed to watch videos while we’re dining...it’s pretty distracting. Food and drinks were good and we’ll come back another time!
Had a wonderful dinner, for the second time. Will definitely be coming here again! Reminds me so much of my aunt’s cooking, who was Cuban.
Every restaurant I goes offers a free piece of cake on a birthday, but they did not.
And the hostess was really rude
If Havana is actually like this- it's a wonderful place.
This was one of my girlfriend's favorite restaurants. She talked about the food all the time. So in the spirit of treating her, I looked to surprise her with a night out at Dona Habana on Valentines day.
The actual night was great. Good service by our waitress. Leading up to the actual was a bit frustrating. I called to check on my reservation several times but most of the servers did not understand English. So it ended up being a case of me having to personally talk to a bar tender to try and arrange a special set up for her. They were unable to arrange anything on their own, which wound up being a personal task I undertook the day of date. Needless to say, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a typical night out with a group or a low profile date.
The food was delicious! The service was great! The food came out quick and hot! I loved it! I will definitely be going again soon!
It was excellent! Will go back again , great food and service.
