We have been at Don Raul a few times, and invited some friends along for this visit. As always, excellent and unique small plates (but generous compared to other "small plate" restaurants). We shared the Lubina (sea bass), Mero (halibut), Rabitas (beef tenderloin), Poulet and Watercress Salad--plus a dessert and bottle of wine. Everything was outstanding. Service from Shawmen was ultra professional (he REALLY knows the menu!).
Fantastic flavors, particularly the sauces, but the price points were far too high to rate this restaurant a good value.
Our waiter was amazing at explaining every dish in detail! The food was exquisite! Chef Ruiz did it again: beautifully arranged food with a fenomenal flavor!

The food was delicious and beautifully presented on each plate. Our waiter was also excellent. Lovely room and atmosphere. However, it was cold. There are 2 doors from the outside; I'd suggest a thick drape over the one that is not used to make the whole restaurant warmer.
Outstanding service & quality of food. The space is so small and the number of tables in that space is comical. Hard to feel intimate when the next table was 8” away.
Wonderful, cozy little spot, where you can talk (without shouting), have delicious, creative food, and get great service. Wine list is excellent. Great date spot for all ages!

I was told I’d have to wait 20 minutes for a table, despite a reservation. Despite the wait (more like 10-15 min) the food, wine, and service was amazing and worth the wait. I had the halibut. My friend had the empanadas and we shared the cauliflower and two desserts. It was all extremely good, and the food presentation was beautiful. Our server was very knowledgeable. It is noisy and the space is small. But overall this was a great new place and would definitely recommend and go back.

Dinner with friends was fabulous. We had a vegetarian and a lactose intolerant guest in our party and they were plenty of options for both. Although it is tapas, portions are generous. Excellent!

Had the Canard it was excellent, my wife had the New York strip , very tender and the bed of risotto she loved. Have desert , the Chipotle Chocolate lava cake will not disappoint
The food lack flavor, it was bland unfortunately...
Everything that we ordered ("coliflor" and "fungo" for the vegetarian and ceviche and salmon for the other) was spectacular, as was the service (thanks Darrell), and it is all done in a small neighborhood setting with a complete lack of pretension, which I appreciate a lot. While the food is not inexpensive, I would say that it is less expensive than similar quality food that I have had at other restaurants. Of note for those that care, given that the space is small, the tables are fairly close together. We will definitely be returning.

Love to support the local restaurants but they have to be worth it. We had a great evening with delicious food. Definitely sharing makes the evening.
I could like to recommend this, but can't whole heartedly do so. Even at tapas portions, the portions were small. And based on the size of the portions, the price was not in line. (I can surmise the price was based on how much time it takes to prepare each item... The preparation was noticeably laborious, however, all in all, the effort involved is not fully utilized.

Our 3rd time here and seems like the quality has gone down a bit. Fish and scallops were not fully cooked. Last dish we ordered took way too long to get. We were offered a comp. dessert but way too full to eat at that time so we declined. They should have comped our last dish.
Loved it--I found the menu fascinating and the service was first rate.
Excellent food! Like gourmet home-cooking with an international flair. A bit pricey, service somewhat inconsistent. Looked as though one waiter was covering the whole place. But again, the food was outstanding.
As a vegetarian, I was really disappointed. I ordered two of the three vegetarian dishes and they were so similar I actually called the waiter back to say that they’d accidentally given me the same thing twice. No, it wasn’t the same, just incredibly similar. Both dishes were mainly cauliflower and carrots with a tiny amount of sauce. Neither had any protein or carb, so I left hungry. The third vegetarian option was a salad that didn’t look any more substantial than the other options. My husband ordered the empanadas and also the salmon and said they were good but not spectacular.
Also, we made a reservation through Open Table, but still had to wait 15 minutes for a table even though there was an table that we could see was open and continued to be open long after we were finally seated. The restaurant then didn’t give me credit for showing up and I got a no-show from Open Table. So I guess they didn’t make the connection when I said I had a reservation?
I hear a lot of good things about this restaurant, and the couple next to us (we were packed in like sardines) were raving about their food, so maybe it’s just not a good fit for vegetarians. And maybe their new menu has some kinks that need working out. And maybe they are just not quite in their stride yet, as a new restaurant. If you’re not a vegetarian, it might be worth a visit.
Our dining experience last Friday was our third dinner at DR snd was excellent. The service was superb and the food delicious. At the end of the evening Chef Hector sat with us and discussed his menu and philosophy. It was a special and great night. We will be back!

Wonderful spot with imaginative small plates perfect for sharing and a solid and eclectic wine list. Menu reflects a wonderful mix of international flavors and cuisines beautifully presented. There is something here for everyone -- seafood, steak, poultry, greens, root vegetables, fish and pork, all prepared to order and incredibly fresh. Enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace in peace amid beautiful art -- there is no cranked up Spotify list to make conversation difficult. Be sure to leave room for dessert, and to sample more than one. You won't be disappointed.
We went for our friend’s birthday and loved the restaurant. The food and service were of a fine dining caliber, without the fuss or pretense. We’ll definitely be back!
The food at Don Raul is fresh, seasonal and interesting. Many dishes are layers of flavor - we tasted several things and loved it all.
My only comment - and it’s only a comment, not a criticism - is that I wish the waiter had given us better direction on how to order. The menu is composed of small plates, enough for two people to taste. There were four of us and we ended up ordering some plates twice because they were so good.
We will definitely go back!
Our server Darryl was extremely helpful and kind. He made great suggestions both on food and drink. We enjoyed each plate both in appearance and taste. Tapas are how we love to eat and share and we can't wait to come back and bring friends. You helped make our anniversary very special!
