We are not wine drinkers and have not tried Domaine Hudson in its five years thinking that the food must be an afterthought. What a mistake! The menu makes selection difficult with attractively described, interesting combinations not burdened with excessive innovation. Foie Gras was perfectly seared to an almost crispy exterior while retaining a rare and rich interior, nicely paired with an apple bread pudding. The escargot will have to wait for another visit. The bolognese was properly earthy over al dante shells, an interesting variation. The mahi mahi special was reported to be perfect. Deserts were few and well done. "Eatery" is way too casual a way to describe this fine restaurant.

Option of selecting small or large plates is a great menu feature! Domain Hudson also offers patrons a nice selection of wines as well as size glass they wish to purchase so it's possible to try several different wines without drinking full glasses. Highly recommend Domain Hudson as the place to dine in Wilmington.

From salad to dessert this is a great restaurant. I am not a wine expert and it doesn't matter. Our server Joe offered wonderful recommendations. You would think the wine would be the attraction but the food competes for top billing.

I always enjoy Domaine Hudson. Their food and service is consistently excellent. The special was sweetbeads and they were the best I've ever had. The oyster appetizer was a beautiful pesentation and delicious.

The food was very good and our server was OK. The biggest disappointment no one read our special requests on our open table reservation. Of 3 very small tables we were placed in the middle one, normally I would have complained and or left but I did want to disappoint my wife. The food was good, however the waiter advised me the two apps i chose would be a filling dinner. One was large portion and delicious the other tasted good but left you wanted more than one shrimp. Waiter thought the apps would be more then enough food for me and I am not a small person and they were not.

Dropped in to Domaine to see a friend and take advantage of the City Restaurant Week offerings. Christine (@ the bar)- and I labored over the full wine list and settled on the 2004 Bonacorssi Syrah. In a word - spectacular. This great grape juice set the stage for a dinner that sparkled. My guest and I shared both salads (the sweet beet and the arugula) which were overly generous portions (remember it as 3 for $35!) and we did the same with the MahiMahi and the regular menu pasta bolognese entrees - both were top notch. The apple tart dessert was a special way to wrap up the evening and we cleaned our plates of the caramel drizzle like two little kids. Another memorable evening at one of my favorite restaurants.

This was my firt visit to Domaine Hudson; I was always skeptical of dining there because I'm not much of a wine drinker. The food was outstanding. Lots of choices and everything looked fantastic. The waiter, who was very knowledgable about the wine and outstanding beer selection, recommended the mahi mahi. We ordered the mahi mahi, shrimp bisque, flat iron steak and warm apple tart. Mahi Mahi was outstanding. I will definetely be making a return visit. At happy hour they have a special for 3 3oz glasses of wine for $3 each and the beer list is amazing- over 100 artisan beers to choose from.

A hidden gem - I've driven past this place many times and not realised what delights awaited behind the unassuming facade. A wonderful restaurant in the center of Wilmington with a suitably diverse yet focused menu with enough to satisfy most tastes. Portion sizes are just right and presentation thoughtful without being over the top. The beer menu is unique and will delight any ale fan. Save room for the cheese menu!

Wonderful evening - reserved talbe for 4 with business colleagues from out of town (one who is French coming in from Europe) - excellent wine selection with our meals, some paired flights which were a special treat. Great ambiance and service, esp knowledge of wines - many meals have the half plate offering so you can being with starters, salad, etc and continue without it being too much. My first time there and will definately be back and recommend. Our French guest loved the wines there.

My 2nd visit here. The 1st was outstanding. This visit less so. I was served the incorrect appetizer, which the server cheerfully offered to replace, but which I ended up accepting. Mistake. Shrimp with Grits, which I enjoy, but which was served barely warm. The main courses were better, but not exceptional. The music choices coming from a nearby speaker were dreadful, and annoying. There is no point in sacrificying quality in pursuit of pretentious chic.

I haven't been to Domaine Hudson for some time...so, it was a delightful experience. The menu is creative. I had the shrimp grits for an appetizer and the scallops for entree. It was delicious! I'll definitely be back soon with friends.

Domaine Hudson continues to be a favorite, and worth the 45+ minute drive from PA. The small pours are a benefit: it's a great way to try unique wines. The food and wine pairing suggested by the knowledgeable wait staff are consistently on point, and the experience is always relaxing and pleasant.

A new favorite! Love the option of small plates to share, which allowed us to enjoy different dishes.

Some of the best mussels I've ever had. So fresh and tender with a 'wanna lick the bowl' sauce.

Our server perfectly paired wine to each dish.

Great food and excellent service. We went for my birthday and everyone enjoyed the cheese course, wine and dinner. We didn't get dessert as there was homemade cake waiting at home:-) The one challenge is the outside of the restaurant looks a bit sketchy, but once you get in everything is great.

Disappointing! I have been there a number of times and always had a great meal. This night I brought a friend who had never been there. The fish of the day (monk fish) was sold out by 7 p.m. I was really talking this restaurant up to my friend but unfortunately this time it fell short of my expectations.

This was our 4th visit to Domaine Hudson but the first time in about 2 years. We were reminded again of how much we enjoy this restaurant. It is really a super spot. Knowledgeable wait staff, exceptional wine choices and excellent dinner selections. We really like the option for a small dinner plate - allows customers to try a starter as well as dessert without over eating. We enjoyed pairing wines with our food choices and appreciated our waiter's assistance with that.

some of the dishes we had were excellent and some ok - the mussels were done perfectly, but the sauce they were served in should have been reduced to increase the flavors. The Mahi was ok, it seemed a little thrown together. The wines were excellent. I've had quite a few from Moore brothers at home. Service was a little pushy. We didn't even have our coats off and the server was telling us the specials. He could have asked if we wanted a drink and let us settle in.

We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Started with the escargot app and it was wonderful. The cream sauce is divine. I had the cod special with carrot puree and chick peas and my husband had the rack of lamb special with crispy polenta. Both were perfectly prepared and very tasty. We also had a side of smashed potatoes and they were the best potatoes I have ever eaten! Our server paired wines with the dishes that were excellent compliments to the flavors. We will definitely return!

Our whole experience was wonderful. The restaurant had been informed it was our anniversary. We were congratulated upon arriving by the hostess and received a complimentary glass of champagne which were really nice touches. Our server, Joe, was very knowledgeable about both the food and the wine list. The half portion entrees along with the glass-size selection of wines(tasting, half glass, full glass) were also a very nice touch. We will definitely be back!

A tad pricey for the portion, but still a nice restaurant none the less. The wine and beer list there is quite extensive and they have a 3-3oz glass for $3 special every night. The food is good, and very rich. They also offer small/large plates, so you can have a smaller portion or try two different entree's for the same price. I highly recommend the Lobster Bisque as a starter. My only wish is that the tables were slightly more spread out from each other.
