Ive been going to Domaine Hudson since they opened and they’ve maintained the quality of their food, service and ambiance for years and even better with the second owners who made it top notch!
It’s always an amazing experience to dine at Domaine Hudson. Food is always impecabble and so is service—Javier is my favorite server but you cant go wrong with the others. The Manager, Amy, is very personable and full of energy. She will make you feel at home. The bartender prepares the best cocktails too! Foodies say that the best restaurants are always consistent in all aspects. Domaine Hudson is it!
Within the past year we have dined in Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, Barcelona and Madrid at some wonderful restaurants. Domaine Hudson ranks up there with the best we have experienced in these cities. The food is fresh, expertly prepared, there are no weaknesses. We went for restaurant week and had a superb 3 course meal ($35) with a very well matched wine pairing with each course ($20) for one of the best meals in the past twelve months.
We went during restaurant week, so may be why service was not as great as expected. Food was great
I have had better meals at DH. Perhaps because of the restaurant week the chef was less accurate.
I had the Beef Tartare, Pan Seared Dorade and Amaretto Cake, I also went for the wine parings. Everything was excellent and the service was great. Definitely a favorite of mine.
We have been here several times and it has always been great ! The food and service are always consistently phenomenal. Unfortunately this time there was a party of about 8 people who were so loud it was difficult at times to hear each other. The waitstaff was very considerate and apologized for them. We still had a wonderful meal and would definitely go back ,
Went for restaurant week. Menu was varied and many dishes to pick from. We order the Italian wine flight and was great. Food was really good. The main dish portions on the smaller side but it was restaurant week and expected. This is our second time visiting. Will def go back. I had the homemade fettuccini with mushrooms and was great! Husband had the Dorade and was done perfect.
I've been to this restaurant three times in the past nine months. Every time, I've been disappointed by both the food and the service. Won't be going back.
From the moment we walked into the restaurant, our party of four had an experience which exceeded our expectations: ambiance, the staff, the food.
Domain Hudson is our go-to restaurant. We had friends in from out of town who were staying at the Hotel DuPont, Domain Hudson is very convenient to the Hotel.
We started out with cocktails prepared by their expert barkeeper.
The 4 of us decided on the Restaurant Week menu with wine pairing. We each enjoyed our selected dishes and the wine pairing worked with our selection.
You cannot go wrong with Domain Hudson.
Great food, amazing wine list and very attentive service. What more do you want.
The hostess seated us promptly and explained the extensive wine list. Our server was very pleasant and answered our questions. We started with a cheese and charcuterie plate for the four of us, it was very good! Our food was devoured as the drinks were refilled. It was a great way to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary!
Excellent food and a very pleasing ambiance. Extensive wine list. We would recommend it highly.
Everything was great food, ambience, service. Seemed a bit high pricewise
Always love eating here. Thought we were coming in for the Brandywine Valley restaurant week menu but we were a week early. NP, we showed up on "Three Course Thursday", and were once again delighted.
The food, wine, and service was amazing! We went for date night and were impressed with the food and drink. Our server was very attentive. We will go back!
Quite simply the best dining experience in Delaware and without question one of the best in the Tri-State area. Professional staff in front of house, back of house and a very deep wine cellar. Hand crafted, fresh artisan pastas, delectable fish selections, and flavors that sparkle with each course. It’s grown-up dining in a special place served by special people.
As always, great service. One of us in the party had the halibut which was very good--interesting preparation and very nice sized portion. Good value for good food. Another party had the mushroom/truffle risotto which was nicely made and the risotto nice and creamy and flavorful.
Very nice wine tasting options with first class wines at fair prices. I had a Chardonnay tasting that was well worth the cost, and the other person in the party had the Domaine Chandon sparkler--as always very nice.
Food was amazing ! Highly recommend giving it a try..
Superb! Really. They know how to do fine dining. They do not rush you. The menu is short, but specific as to what it offers you. The price fixed menu is, in our opinion, the way to go. If you order a la carte you probably wind up spending $20-30 more and that's if you don't order lots of drinks. So, at least you know one portion of your bill is set. The food is prepared exquisitely. It's not over spiced, or over-cooked. Ask questions to your waiter. They know a lot about the foods/wines. You won't offend them, or the chef if you ask questions on how the food was cooked. Your showing interest. Your showing you enjoy and respect it. The atmosphere is nice for a date or a special occasion. It's not very noisy. Get a table by the window. Even if your just seeing downtown Wilmington, it's still fun to look out and watch people go by. It's an excellent gem on the fringe of the city. Just go! And it's not uptight dining. They make you feel comfortable.
We finally had an opportunity to visit since the arrival of a new chef. We started with the House Smoked Trout and Mascarpone. Great combination of flavors! The Berkshire Pork Chop and the Ricotta Gnocchi did not disappoint either. The pork chop was tender and juicy! As usual, service was excellent. Javier is the best! We look forward to visiting again soon!
Don’t be turned off by the exterior décor, the food is your reason for being there and it’s amazing.
This is not a place that would normally come on to our attention, but it was recommended by a friend with a great knowledge of restaurants. The food and service were excellent. The kitchen took items that you can get in many restaurants and made them more interesting and more edible. The Calamari, Gnocchi and the crispy Brussels are examples, items you can get many places, but much better here. Service was excellent, yet friendly and very knowledgeable.
Our appetizers Took 40 minutes to arrive. Also the waiter didn’t bring a wine until into the main course. He opened it and do not pouring because he was letting it breathe. But they never came back to port or to see if it was OK. The food was very good but the portions were definitely on the smaller side. Also, I had indicated that this was a birthday dinner on the OpenTable reservation and no acknowledge it was given to that whatsoever. Very disappointing.
Outstanding food and service. We went on Thursday night and had the 3 course meal with a bottle
of wine for $95. It was so worth it!! We were celebrating a birthday, so the chef sent out a complimentary
appetizer of mussels. I would recommend this restaurant highly!!
Lovely quiet (!) place, new American food, lovely wines, food is innovative. The night we ate there the entrees were mainly fish so check menu if you want a lot of meat selections. The charcuterie platter is a must. Generous portions. They care.
Ate here with friends on a Thursday night when they have their special 3 courses and bottle of wine for $95 per couple. This is a bargain for the level of food, service and attention that this restaurant offers. The portions are not stingy and the presentation and quality for each course is equal to those served from the regular menu. The limited wine list offers many good choices and is somewhat of a surprise for an already discounted dinner. I highly recommend you treat yourself to this Thursday special and you'll also list it among your favorites !
Excellent service and the food was outstanding!
Attentive staff and brief, robust menu. Enjoyed the Cheese and Charcuterie boards with table conversation.
Food was excellent as was the service! We had been wanting to get there for Thursday night date night for a while and it did not disappoint!
Javier was a wonderful server. Our meal was prepared especially well. Everything was delicious!
My husband and I were thrilled to drive to Domain Hudson and have a wonderful evening. We’ve been wanting to try a new restaurant for some time/ and Friday night was great. It was very quiet, had a great wine list by the glass or bottle. A clever iPad app had all their wine listings available to peruse. I ordered a sharing cheese plate to start which was delicious! I highly recommend ordering 3 cheeses. My entree was a baked whole fish from Greece. Excellently prepared and easy to eat. My husband had the pork chop special meat entree. He could not eat the 2nd pork chop. The portions were generous. Our waiter was also the server and knew his wines and the menu very well . Roger is a great waiter! We looked at dessert but decided we were full. They offer gelato and many delectable desserts. It’s a great restaurant and plenty of parking is available.
Food was very good. Service was good. Not excellent like we had experienced there before. Would still recommend it.
Menu was delightful, every taste delicious. We shared bites of each course and we’re pleased with every taste. The star dishes were the pork belly appetizer served with a spicy peanut relish and the singing or but perfect carbonara. Highly recommend.
Sisters Birthday. They put candles In Our strawberry shortcake, very cute. Everyone had fantastic appetizers & entrees but the pancetta was weird in my husbands carbonara. Would still go back 100%
The food was excellently prepared. Great cocktails and superb wine. Our waiter was perfect. Can’t wait to dine there again
LIKE THE RESTAURANT, WENT FOR A THURSDAY "DATE" SPECIAL.
EXTREMELY LIMITED SELECTION.
APPS WERE VERY GOOD, ENTREE NOT SO MUCH, DESERT AGAIN OK
Love this restaurant, love our server Javier- he is amazing and so knowledgeable both in the food and wine selections. And the food is AWESOME.
It was amazing. Client could not stop talking about his dinner.
