Some of the food we had was really good and of the quality I expected. My husband loved the Kimchi pasta with scallops. The entrees were acceptable. We had the lamb and the duck and they were good, but they weren't amazing. I was hoping for better flavors and something more unique for the price. I also was a little disappointed in the variety. For instance for the pastas, there were only three. Two had seafood in them which I am allergic to which left only the mushroom risotto. As not a huge fan of mushrooms, this was disappointing. Overall, the food was good. It's definitely higher quality as compared to a lot of the restaurants in the area. However, compared to the other restaurants in the same price range, it's sub par.
a mixed bag of food, with some excellent dishes (Kimchi Linguini), and other dishes totally failing (whole fish, frozen)
The second entry for the lunch special was two beef choices, duck and octopus. I don't eat beef and they didn't have any duck...they didn't run out...we were there at 12 noon and there just didn't have it availalbe.
I was disappointed without a different fish or poultry option.
Excellent as usual. I am never disappointed here!
It is always a delight to dine here; the food and the service are outstanding, as is the wine list. A friend and I always meet for lunch during Restaurant Week -- I only wish that DH served lunch on a regular basis!
Great food, excellent service ! Our waiter identified a “bad” bottle of wine and exchanged it for another of the same...... BRAVO !!!!!!
Just one suggestion, don't let them seat you in the window.... Awkward, fish bowl-type moment.. Opt for a booth or table on the far side for a lititle more intimacy... Other than that, it was a great experience, yet again.
Went for our favorite pre-fix dinner, been many times, very disappointed in the the menu. 1 app choice, always had 2, 2 entre's, 1 dessert! Stuck with their choice for apps and dessert. Cheese board was ok, rice pudding was not good for either of us? 2courses of their choice, not ours, won't be back!
First time at this restaurant traveling from NJ because of the great ratings. Such a beautiful restaurant and food is so good. A must to visit.
always an excellent experience. great food, service and wine.
Food was excellent as well as service!
There is simply no finer dining experience in the state of Delaware. The bride proclaimed her choice (Berkshire Pork Chop) the best dinner she had ever had … I had the hand crafted artisan pasta Beef Cheek ravioli - which were equally stellar. Our wine - a Spanish Grenache was in a word … decadent. If you haven't been, go. If you haven't been in a while, go back.
One of the best restaurants in Wilmington!
We had not been to Domaine for a few years. Our meal was good. We both had the fluke which was excellent. The wine list was not as extensive as we recalled it. We were surprised how empty it was for a Friday evening. Our server was helpful with the wine suggestions, but we almost felt rushed, particularly when it wasn’t very crowded.
Great food and French wine. Ravioli was exquisite.
Wonderful evening. Highly recommend. Service is excellent
Good special occasion restaurant. Not an extensive menu, but everyone should be able to find something that appeals to them.
Great food, fantastic wine list. Best of all intimate and quiet enough to enjoy conversation.
Food was great, our wait person was superlative. Only downside was a bit of a wait for dessert, but it was so good it didn't matter!
I took my wife out for her birthday to Domaine Hudson. Overall, service was excellent and attentive and the food was thoughtfully prepared and presented. It tasted great but I must warn you...the portion sizes for the main courses are really small. The steak we had was extremely tender (sirloin) but I think it probably started out 4 ounces or so before it hit the grill. The wine list had great choices, especially the moscato. I would recommend this place for a quiet intimate evening but beware if you come in really hungry!
Our 1st time there, we will definitely return. Although a big investment, maybe they could spruce up the space; ceiling and around air conditioners were black.
Excellent dinning experience! Food was amazing as well as the level of service. This is a must if you're in the Wilmington. DE area!
We looked forward to the prefix menu, but my wife did not like raw fish. There should’ve been a choice on that particular course. That being said although your food is very good your menu is so limited especially appetizers.
Service and food are always top notch. It’s a wonderful dining experience and perfect for special occasions.
Great Valentine’s date with my wife. Loved the fixed menu and the wine pairings... especially the Chianti and pork belly pairing! Always a good choice for a special occasion
Valentine’s Day set menu- got food without silverware which was taken away with each dish. Served our dessert to wrong table - waited 20 minutes. Place is great will still go back, but sloppy service on Valentines Day.
Do not go to domaine Hudson on valentines day. Extremely overcrowded, slow service and new servers. Any other day is great and good wine.
They were overwhelmed by their bookings On Valentines Day. We were on the early side of the evening so we witnessed their growing hubbub for the later evening. Seemed like staff were bumping into each other with their cramped seating. All were pleasant though. Portions were reasonable in size though when the menu included a purée with the duck breast it could have said a “smear” of purée. Good food for sure.
Excellent find in downtown Wilmington. Great service, wine and food! And not over the-top prices!
Have rated Domaine Hudson 5 stars in the past but this time fell a bit short. Enjoyed the Three Course Thursday, but the appetizer just didn't wow us. 4.5 stars not available as a choice, so this time a 4 star review. Still, definitely we will be returning, and looking forward to once again giving them 5 stars.
Wonderful experience. Excellent, creative dishes, great wine choices, delicious desserts. Attentive service, pleasant ambiance.
The service was exceptional. The food was very good with perfect portion sizes.
hadn't been in a long time but we were pleasantly surprised.it is still 1 of DE's best.
The food was fantastic, the service was fantastic and fun, we were probably the loudest table in the place (which is usual) and thoroughly enjoyed our night!
As usual- the food is amazing. Favorite place in Delaware.
Quite simply, the most decadent dining experience in the state of Delaware. You will not be disappointed. Be it their friendly host / bar and wait teams - to the sparkling execution of the kitchen - everything about your dinner at DH is special. A long time customer and a big fan, whether entertaining clients, showing off the restaurant to friends who have experienced DH yet, or as in this night - a simple, elegant dinner for two with the bride by the window table … always sublime.
Service is exceptional, unfortunately our meals weren’t. Over abundance of dressing that was very salty on citrus salad. Risotto was hard and the ravioli was lackluster. Time for an update on decor. Very disappointing meal.
I am a frequent customer here, and love the food and service. The new menu is very good, but I think they missed with the a few items. The Gin cured salmon, while well presented, did not hint to being cured with anything, much less Gin. The Beef Bourgogne, was the most disappointing for me, as it was a very small piece of beef, and mostly fat. This is far away from Burgundy's classic dish.
On the good side, the Beef Cheek Ravioli were very good, and the whole fish was also excellent.
The service, as usual, excellent.
Service, food, and ambiance everything was amazing. We will be back!
Domain Hudson continues to be our favorite restaurant in Wilmington. We were disappointed when Chef Pat left, but their new Chef is every bit as talented as the former Chef. Friday evening was our first chance to "try out" the new Chef. Each dish was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. As always, the bar and wait staff friendly and attentive.
The three course Prix Fix option was a true bargain.
If you are reading this post you are looking for an upscale restaurant in Wilmington, I urge you to try Domain Hudson, you will not regret your choice.
