   My husband and I had a celebratory dinner for his birthday on Halloween. The food was excellent. Not fancy plating, but Great food. Better than some of the fancy Hotel restaurants near by.

   Dolphin Striker has a cozy New England pub feel with a wide variety of delicious food selections. My husband had the fish carpaccio and loved it. I had the haddock wrap and it was very tasty. Excellent service. Back room has a view of the river ...although a bit limited but nice.

   Very loud until a large party near us left. Liked that the owner/manager came around to our table to check on the noise level and food quality for us.

   We decided to go to the Dolphin Striker to use our $20 OT reward. We were running late and called in. The hostess simply changed our table time with no hassle. The place was not very busy (5-7 tables with people) and we were seated immediately. Our server Samantha was the only server on staff and she easily managed them all. We never waited for anything and she was always coming by asking if everything was Ok or if we needed anything. The food was outstanding. My wife had the lobster soup which was loaded with lobster and the haddock Oscar which was well cooked and not overdone. I had the lobster mac n cheese. There were at least 5 lobster claws in the appetizer portion I ordered. Hard to complain about not getting enough mac! The only downer was that it was a bit cool in the dining area. My wife kept her jacket on through the meal. We would eat here again in a heart beat!

   Every time I return to my hometown, I have dinner at the Dolphin Striker. It is the best--ambiance, food, service all good and very Portsmouth.

   Service was first-rate ( Samantha); and downstairs tavern/dining room provided ideal ambiance for a quiet dinner with a very special companion. Drinks were superb (Lagunita's on tap -- how great is that?) and entrees (salmon, paiella) were tasty. Salad was fresh. Would definitely return.

   This is a go to spot for us and we are locals. It doesn't have the most extensive menu but what they go have is good, consistent and quality. The ambiance is warm and comfortable and the staff is awesome.

   ThIs restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and were told that The Dolphin Stricker was on the same scale of food as SALT (restaurant at the Wentworth which we ate at the evening before). As a foodie SALT was pheonomenal so we had high expectations only to leave there with both me and my husband hardly touching our dinners. I had a fish dish that was served with tomatoes, artichokes , olives, and onions. It lacked complete flavor and was very dry. My husband had the beef Wellington which was okay. The beef was tender and cooked perfectly. However it was served with a brown gravy/sauce with peas that tasted okay but you could see the ring of oil on the plate which made the dish less than appetizing. I will say that the appetizers we had were decent. We had a tuna tarter with a sweet chili sauce. And the waitress was very nice just disappointed with the dinners.

    Great spot right in the middle of everything. Charming historic ambiance. I loved the paella which included many mussels and lobster. My husband enjoyed his beef Wellington - just needed some potatoes or something to sop up the delicious sauce, so we ordered that on the side (should come with but....). We'll be back.
