2 of the 3 meals were just "ok".....not what I remember from a few years ago.
This was our first time at this Omaha stand out! Everything went very nicely. Warm reception, good service and good food. I would recommend a reservation as the seating is limited (42). We will be back for more excellent diners.
Food and service were excellent. This restaurant is a hidden jewel in Omaha. If you haven’t try it you are missing out on the best place in town to eat. I rank this restaurant as a 5 stars comparable to the iron chefs restaurants that I visited in other states like Napa, New York,Scottsdale, Miami and Chicago.
Super disappointed. The food was good -the server was mechanical and had no personality- she even read all the specials from her server book to us. Felt judged the second we walked in- wanted to take my boyfriend out for a special birthday dinner- my boyfriend took off his hat when we got inside and he doesn’t go to fancy restaurants often- people were looking at us and he put his hat back on- it’s a nervous habit he has , he’s also a industrial mechanic so he lives in hats. There was no warning of dinner attire on the Dolce website where I made the reservation- shortly after we arrive and sit in the middle of the restaurant, I see four workers whispering in the bar area and looking over at us. The manager- I think? She never introduced herself - comes over and politely tells my boyfriend to take off his hat. I’ve worked at many upstanding restaurants and Just how the whole thing was handled was weird and seemed unprofessional - and made us feel uncomfortable. We could clearly see them whispering about us. We enjoyed the food- I know house- made pasta is harder ( al dente) but this was a little too hard for me- otherwise it had great flavor. Won’t be going back - we’ve been to much fancier restaurants than this and weren’t treated strange and i would never be a presumptive cold server to my tables. The whole point is to welcome people into your establishment to relax and enjoy a dinner that’s about 90 bucks for two people. I didn’t pay that much to feel uncomfortable and it certainly changed the whole mood of dinner for us. What a shame.
Great food and service. Had a wonderful time. Had the date menu. Each course was excellent
Excellent food, thoughtfully prepared and creatively presented. Great service and fantastic drinks too. Highly recommend!
The experience was good. The food was delicious. The service was a bit slow due to the illness of our server. As we were not in a hurry there was no problem. The restaurant is comfortable and pleasingly decorated. I would definitely return.
This is one of the top 2 restaurants in Omaha with tasting menus and wine pairing.
Good food, great server, food slow to come out. Portion sizes are VERY small for the price. Also need more meatless options for Fridays during Lent.
We love, love , love this restaurant and we're never disappointed with the food. The menu is limited but everything that we've tried on it has been delicious. I was happy to see that they had a good crowd of people in a wide variety of ages enjoying this unique and tasty food. It is a true dining experience and rivals just about any place we've eaten at in our travels . Omaha is fortunate to have such a gem of a restaurant available to dine in .
The food was good. The hostess who turned into our server was pushy and unknowlegeable about the drink menu. Tables very close together not very private for conversation. Inconsistent on the requirements to dine there as a patron.
Dolce was amazing! Some of the best service I have had it a long time! Will definitely be going back!
Had a wonderful time for Valentine’s Day, with a delicious and creative four course meal. Great cocktails were an added plus. We lucked out that Valentine’s Day fell on a Wednesday, which was also live music tonight. The soloist performed awesome “dining” music!
Great food, caring service. Always seem to go the extra step to ensure one has an exceptional dining experience.
Food and service fantastic as always. Great deal for the price.
The meal was very nice. This is not a quick bite restaurant. Plan on spending at least an hour or two
Great food and service, reasonable prices. Unfortunately, we froze the entire meal. When people aren't taking off their coats in your restaurant, that should tell you it's a bit too cold!
The food was excellent! Great date night restaurant!
Every course was delicious to say the least! Service was above many other places. Met with Anthony, the exec chef and thanked him for the great time.
We will recommend to others and return in the future.
Good food and drinks, excellent service. I’ll be back very soon
Great food, exceptional service. We loved every aspect of of evening. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and our food was fresh and amazingly delicious. I look forward to my next visit
Heard about Dolce numerous times from friends and colleagues alike. Very happy with the food, had an excellent Ribeye and Whitefish there. Everything was on point for the most part. Scallops were a little off. . . but was pretty exceptional overall! Will be back!
We went to celebrate an anniversary. Everyone was friendly. Menu choices were very interesting. The date night special options are a good value and if you wish to spend a bit more the special chefs meal. Presentation of everything was beautiful and we enjoyed both of our entrees and salad. The French press coffee with dessert was a nice touch to finish off this pleasing dining experience. The chef came by to chat and check with us.
I had not been there for a number of years. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was superb and the cocktails were excellent. Nice comfortable ambiance.
Everything at this restaurant was impeccable! The food and service were great! The restaurant is small and not much room for private conversation but other than that I would recommend the restaurant. They have a personalized date night menu that I hope to try one day. It was a great first time experience!
Excellent as always!
My wife and I have always liked Dolce, but our last visit wasn't so great. When you make a reservation at a nice restaurant like Dolce, one expects a basic level of respect from the staff. The last thing you want to hear from a waiter is unfiltered childish comments like “You’re tall, how is the weather up there” (while stepping up on a chair crossbar) or “Good job cleaning up your plates”, just to state a few. This makes for a very unpleasant “Date Night” birthday dinner. We would have walked out had it not been for the musician Christopher Raven who really saved the night with his performance .
Food and service was over the top!!!
I love this restaurant! Fabulous dishes, excellent service and beautiful atmosphere!
We went to Dolce on a double date before a movie. I will start by saying I gave us a little over an hour and a half between the reservation and the movie, which I should have probably known better. They weren't too busy when we arrived however our server quickly got quadruple sat and could tell they were short staffed. I think this probably was definitely a factor in the dining experience being two and a half hours - we were able to change the movie time and didn't really mind the leisure dining experience. Both Couples did the date night menu, I would highly recommend the risotto option they have (it changes), Also the Pork Belly Salad was great. I really enjoyed my Short Rib Cavatelli, although the cavatelli was a little more al dente than I usually like. My fiance had the pork and was a little disappointed that there was only a little pork belly and more of the other type of pork. The desserts were also very good - apple cheesecake and bread pudding. Our service was pretty slow but again I think they were understaffed and this was the cause. Overall I would recommend and I would like to try again.
Had the chef's 5 course meal for my wife's birthday. It was amazing. Wait staff was also wonderful. Heading back in a few weeks for my mother's birthday. If i could give it more thsn 5 stars i would. Bravo Anthony.
Not the best night for Dolce as overwhelmed staff resulted in lukewarm bisque. Cheery and running on high energy, but too many Groupon redeemers for the usual high quality to emerge.
Nevertheless, we shall return(with or without MacArthur).
The food was amazing as always. Our waitress however did not seem to be paying much attention. We had to request a drink menu twice before just looking it up online ourselves after waiting 15+ minutes for her to not return until the next course.
This is our second trip to Dolce and were not disappointed this time. The food and service are exceptional. They explain every item in detail so there are no surprises when your food arrives. The "date night" menu is what my wife and I ordered and found it to be a great way to share each others dishes!
Loved it! Just wish it was closer to my Midtown home!
Date night menu is awesome every time. We sure enjoy Chef Anthony and his team!
Dolce is the best restaurant in Omaha! The food is savory and delicious, the service is always stellar and the prices are good for the quality of the food. Highly recommended!
Wonderful as always!
Dolce has always been a favorite for incredible food, amazing wait staff, great wine matching and a place you can converse with your friends, without having to shout above the noise of the room. It is a cherished gem in a world of wannabes.
