Dogwood Southern Table & Bar
My wife and I went there to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary and were treated like royalty! The executive chef Johnathan prepared my wife's monkfish flawlessly and I had the scallops and boar chops which was perfect. For a surprise they prepared some wonderful sorbet and a pound cake drizzled with caramel which they did not charge us for! Will was our server and our wine glasses never went dry. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to make their wife/partner/significant other feel special! We will return!
I have dined at Dogwood Table several times for various occasions. Yesterday’s brunch was delightful as expected - great food and service at reasonable price. We will be back.
Have been there before and food was good. Don’t know what has happened. It is a real shame because it is a lovely restaurant. Unfortunately, we won’t go back.
Service was attentive. Menu had several appealing options. Local and fresh. We had a Mushroom small plate that was very good. Shrimp and Grits and Farms Chicken were very good. Will be back
Food was delicious which is why I wanted to go and our server was great but I was so disappointed in the wine selection by the glass. Table was too dark to see menu. Had to pull the flashlight feature on the phone routine. Trout was good, chicken dish was delicious with purple polenta. It wasn’t as good as I remembered. I was a little disappointed since it was a birthday dinner
We came in Sunday for a late...1:30...brunch. From the front door right through to paying my bill we were met with a professional and personable staff! Our waiter, Brandon, was very helpful with menu suggestions and my brunch companion tried the Boar and loved it. I had delicious French toast that had a pistachio crust which contrasted beautifully with the soft, moist center. Portions were perfect. Did I mention the Bloody Marys? Just enough kick to satisfy.
This place just jumped to the top of my Brunch destinations.
Good and service was outstanding. We highly recommend Dogwood.
One of our favorite restaurants in CLT! The cocktails are always original and perfect. The food is always delicious. Never a bad meal!
Too noisy. Food was good, but not great. Food and drinks were overpriced
Fantastic all around!
Winter and Brian killed it as usual! Love this place!
Great food and fantastic Sommelier. Very loud making it hard to have a conversation over dinner.
I love to dine here but I am always taken back by the extreme noise level. It is very hard to hear your dinner companions and for that reason I hesitate to come very often.
Favorite restaurant every time we’re in town. This time I took my manager and he loved the monk fish! The octopus was incredible- and the service perfect!
We always enjoy our experience at Dogwood Southern Table and again they didn’t disappoint. It was odd that they were out of the special (Grouper) at 6:00pm but ok. Everything was wonderful especially the wild boar chops and scallops. (Scrumptious)
The only disappointment was the chocolate mousse cake which was dry. Also... please bring back Broken Dreams wine which we discovered originally at Dogwood. The alternative suggested by our server didn’t compare.
Went for my birthday on Saturday evening and couldn’t be happier with the food and the service. Wish I could remember our servers name as she was superb! The mussels were incredible and the venison carpaccio is to die for!
I really enjoyed the meal and it was great for a special lunch.
Place never disappoints... The food is great! The service is terrific! It's an experience.
We'll be back!
Modern, southern food and complimentary birthday cake!
Everything was great from start to finish, thanks!
Birthday and move to new city
Service was very slow and bacon was undercooked and eggs over cooked. For a very limited menu and being the first party in the restaurant very sub par.
We were seated outside so the noise level was minimal. The service was outstanding and our server really knew his wines! The only complaint was the extra spicy bbq sauce on the ribs, which I had had a few weeks prior and were not spicy. The ribs were actually delish without the sauce and my husband’s tagliatelle was outstanding!
Date night! What an evening. From the complementary valet, delicious drinks, amazing oysters as our app, inventive and chef inspired main dishes, knowledgeable and attentive service... we will be coming back!
Fantastic and memorable experience!
Excellent! I haven't been since the restaurant first opened and most definitely this experience was by far much much better! Again, it was great! Thanks!
Really good food and plenty of it. Celebrating my wife's birthday we all had a great entree. I think the weakest link in the entire evening was the wedge salad. The macaroni and cheese was some of the best I've ever had. The New York strip was prepared with an unusual sauce and vegetables but it was very good. A good time had by all.
Dogwood Southern is definitely evolving into one of my favorite go-to restaurants in Charlotte. The food is absolutely incredible in its creativity and quality of preparation. The service matches the quality of the food perfectly, and the craft cocktails are amazing. A great trifecta of flavors, environment, and service.
Phenomenal food and service. Will be going back! Went for a friends birthday and they helped make it a perfect celebration dinner.
Great service, great food, great restaurant.
Monk Fish was excellent. Our service was very good too.
We ordered NC oysters which were very good. The taste of the mussels were "off" to me, although I did not get ill. My hanger steak was ordered medium rare but came out rare and fatty ( which I chose not to say anything, as it was my birthday, and didn't want to make a fuss). My daughter's hanger's steak was a better piece and she enjoyed hers. The mushrooms were bland, as were the beets. I had been looking forward to trying Dogwoods for sometime but, unfortunately, was disappointed. We actually wanted to order the NC trout, which they did not have. In general, for the summer, I was hoping for a brighter menu.
Our server was pleasant.
This place was great and so was the young lady that took care of us. We really like farm to table places and this place is one of the best we have been too. The food was perfect.
Energetic doesn't quite fit, should be "so loud you have to shout" to the person sitting next to you. And while I like the variety of offerings on the menu, last night was inconsistent. Fried oysters were as good as I've ever had anywhere. The pound cake dessert outstanding as well. The duck was a disappointment, and not as good as I've had there on previous dinners. Overcooked, dry and bland.
A positive note was the wine steward. I asked her about 2 reds and she saw my price point, and did not try to up sell us. We had four bottles(six of us) she recommended that were good and under $70.
Always fantastic food/beverages and solid service. One of our favorite restaurants in Southpark area with a broad enough menu to appeal to everyone!
The menu is inventive, diverse and yet never strays far from something everyone could enjoy and recognize. the mused cocktails reflect the same consideration, where even something old is something new. the OF ( old fashioned) was delightful and just different enough to make me order a second. The chefs special was a seared flounder- perfectly prepared.
what made the experience truly memorable was our server, Jocelyn. (sp?) Knowledgeable, attentive, and just delightful.
Superb, as always. Sit at the counter for a great experience and to see the kitchen in action. We were treated to a couple of small bites between courses, one of which was the most incredible scallop I’ve ever had. The staff are excellent and the food is inventive and delicious. Be sure to try Dogwood. You will not be disappointed.
From Atlanta and this was our second time dining here....phenomenal food, wine and service both times!
Great server and food!
Great lunch, food and service were excellent.
