The service was excellent! Travis was our server and he made our dining experience so enjoyable!
The food was superb as well!
Chef’s experience with Jonathan was exceptional. If you love variety and excellent food, you’ll enjoy it. Great value too.
Exceptional as usual. Never disappointed.
Dogwood is always a wonderful experience; from cocktails to a nice dinner, it never disappoints. We will be back again soon.
Loved our dinner with Jonny experience can’t wait to do it again! Food is fresh, local and prepared perfectly and the wine and cocktails pairings were amazing also!
Great food with some dishes that you can’t find everywhere else, like the duck & dumplings.
Outstanding Experience! Chef Jonathan and the staff were a delight. We enjoyed our meal so very much and will definitely be back again. Seriously you should think of selling that blueberry gelato in to go containers. We all would’ve bought a quart!
Really enjoyed our meal last night, shared the mushroom toast, had Trout and Tuna as entries, best food we had in Charlotte. Thumbs up.
Our server JT was a fantastic addition to the experience and kept a respectful cadence yet beneficial guide with fun vibes.
This was our first meal at Dogwood and the overall rating should be in the 4 to 4.5 star range. Truly the staff/service was outstanding. Tom was our server and he achieved that very fine line balance between attentiveness and hovering. Other members of the management team "touched the table" but very briefly - in words, perfectly. Eli - at the bar - A+++ Do ask him to mix your cocktails; you will not be disappointed. The food rating drops a bit. My husband had the Duck Breast (entrée) and it was simply delicious - perfectly paired and prepared. I had the Lobster Tagliatelle and, frankly, I would not order it again. No explanation necessary. We will definitely give Dogwood another try and would not hesitate to refer it to others but as far as it becoming a regular or favorite: The jury is still out.
Experience and food was great!
Amazing! Service, assistance with wine selection and food were perfect!
Honestly very disappointing I was very excited to bring new friends there the service was pretty spotty they were supposed to come correct or cocktails which never happened probably won’t be coming back again
Had a fabulous experience at Chef Jonathan’s “chef’s table” this evening. Everything was fantastic and Chef Jonathan was incredibly attentive, informative and did I mention - made a great dinner. Will definitely do this again!
Haven’t been to Dogwood in years but three of us couples went. I forgot how dark it is in there. Makes me sleepy. Food was delicious and the service was outstanding. It’s just too pricey in the long run. I wish they had more entrees on the menu and less small plates.
Had a chefs table experience and it was excellent. Chef Jonny was very personable and his cooking outstanding. The scallop, mushroom and tuna dishes were all cooked and seasoned deliciously.
We wish there were more vegetarian options on the menu. My wife and I were able to cobble together a delicious meal of small plates and sides, but it was very disappointing that there wasn’t a single vegetarian entree. Is at least good pasta too much to ask?
Always the best food we all cleaned our plates
Fabulous service. Food was good.
What a fun and delicious evening at the “chef’s “ bar; Jonathan was a pleasure and the food delicious!
Our favorite restaurant in town, and our first dine-in restaurant experience in a year. It was everything we remembered. We did Chef Jonny's tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Fresh ingredients, creative pairings, and excellent flavors all with a view of the kitchen and the process. The main course duck breast was served over asparagus and a hearty roasted beet and topped with cherries, bathed in other seasonings and flavors. And the cocktail (bartender's choice) was a perfect pairing. So glad to be back at Dogwood!
Sat outside on a great evening. Great oysters, service & cocktails!
The Lobster Tagliatelle was fishy and nothing else. Dogwood tries to sell you on sourcing locally and I should have known better. They obviously have the Lobster claw meat sourced as frozen by the taste, consistency and fishy taste of it. There was also no tail meat in the dish so I know they don’t source live product.
It was about as bad as I have ever had and took hours to get that fishy taste out of my mouth even with several mints.
My wife had the shrimp and grits and liked that, but portion was small and this was supposed to be my birthday dinner and it was terrible.
Date night with the wife, dinner with Jonny is the perfect way to make it an occasion. Be sure to add on Michelle’s wine pairing
The charcuterie was very bland, they really need to add some sort of sweetness to the mix. The strawberry wedge was extremely sour and the lettuce used for it wasn't giving it the typical wedge texture....
The dinner was delicious. Portion size was ridiculously too small. Ordered a wedge salad for the first course. Flavor profile was outstanding but the amount was very small. The lettuce was not the traditional iceberg style but was a good second choice. Scallops was the second course with only 3 on the plate with some type of potato pieces for lack of a better word. Can’t remember ever ordering scallops with less than 5 served. Desert was the best course and filled the empty stomach. The staff was excellent and the manager Jonathan came by the table a few times to ensure we had all we needed. Food was delicious but lacking, staff was great.
It was a great Mother’s Day dinner for my wife!
We had the Mother's Day menu. Everything was great. The best service I've had in a long time out anywhere.
My husband and I came for Mother’s Day lunch. Sadly it did not live up to our expectations. While the service was good and the food creative, the portions seemed very small for the $55 three course meal. We didn’t object to the price, we objected to quantity for the price. My husband ordered the trout and I ordered the scallops. Both were just ok. Just wasn’t a good value in our opinion. We had higher expectations because we’re big Dressers fans (same owners). We found it sad the only thing we were completely satisfied with were the desserts and honestly they were gigantic. Odd. I realize during special events, like a very busy Mother’s Day, that sometimes the service and food will not be up to par. Other reviewers seem to like this restaurant so we may give it another try in the future.
Not one to complain but the Mother’s Day brunch left much to be desired. I have visited before so I was a bit disappointed in the food. The shrimp was a tough texture. The lobster for my pasta had a similar tough texture and the dish was just not flavorful. The children’s menu stated “burger” but when it arrived it was actually a cheeseburger. My son doesn’t eat cheese so we sent it back. They scraped the cheese off but didn’t do a great job so I finished scraping it off. They gave him a new bun as well but it was cold. Altogether I was quite disappointed with the meal but the service was great and I enjoyed my mimosa!
The entire experience was amazing, as usual! Food was delicious and the service was terrific.
Will definitely come back here. We sat at the counter and received great service. Entertaining to see them cooking. My husband had the burger and I had the pasta. Both were amazing. Flavor was spot on. Right now with the lack of workers you couldn’t tell here which was a nice change to some restaurants we’ve been to.
Limited, but varied menu at decent pricing. Nice selection of starters/small plates and sides. Nice selection of house and standard cocktails as well as wine.
Food was delicious but the portions were very small for the price we paid
Lovely anniversary date. Our server was attentive & gave great recommendations. The patio was fun. The hush puppies, duck & dumplings, lamb & scallops were all fantastic. Will definitely be back.
Celebrated my birthday. Our waitress Jessica was on top of everything. She was able to answer any question we had about the menu and we had lots. Jessica made sure we had everything we needed throughout our dining experience. We Started off with the smoked trout appetizer which I would definitely recommend. The trout was fresh and the flavors of the lemon creme fraiche, fried capers and pickled red onion was fabulous. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the strip steak. One of the best shrimp and grits meal I have had. Jessica surprised me with a slice of cheesecake with a candle and two glasses of a sparkling wine to end the evening. I definitely recommend Dogwood for your special occasion. The only thing missed at this meal were the pictures of the great food!
Great service and drinks. Food is on point.
