My party ordered oysters, Brussel sprouts, lamb chops, walnut pasta with shrimp, boar and scallops, carrot cake and chocolate dessert.
The STAND OUTS were Brussel sprouts ( best ever), lamb chops (perfect), pasta (delisssssh), the carrot cake (different from the usual, in an amazing way).
Food was awful in fact mad me sick later in the night - for the price and character the restaurant is supposed to have it was terrible - it was our anniversary and my husband couldn’t even eat his so called food and the duck I had was over cooked - will not go back ever again

We love eating here! It's been our favorite restaurant. The food is always amazing and different. The service is fantastic, they have a great team. This was our first time to do the chef tastings, and it was a real treat to hear from the chef that has been making the delicious meals we have enjoyed. Their bartender is also awesome and creative with his drinks. We did the wine and spirit pairings, which were perfectly paired with our meal. We are excited to do this again, and bring some friends!

First time at Dogwood and we did dinner with Chef Jonny at the tasting bar. First off, the service was fantastic. I appreciated that our table was ready when we got there and we were sat and greeted almost immediately. The food was perfect. The each course from chef Johnny was phenomenal and unique. We also did the wine pairing which was a great addition to each dish. I highly recommend this experience for a cool date night or outting with friends! We’ll be back.

All around amazing dinner experience. Attentive and knowledgeable service, great wine list, and the small plates were delicious! The Duck Dumplings stole the show. A must try for the Charlotte food scene!
We did the Chef Jonny experience at Dogwood and it was amazing! The food was wonderful, he was so talented, pleasant and knowledgeable and the server was great as well! I would highly recommend Dogwood for a nice meal in the QC!

I had the best dinner out in ages. So much so that I have already secured a reservation for a future experience.
Chef Jonny was engaging, warm and served each selection personally. I hoped to enjoy my meal, but instead I was bowled over by it. Every plate was thoroughly cleaned before being retrieved by the waitress. We chose the cocktail pairing and the value was unexpected. The drinks packed a punch and contained ingredients mirrored in the food.

Eli and Taylor at the bar did a great job at making our drinks. Towards the end of our meal the attentiveness of the staff wasn’t like it was at the end.
To my surprise people were “dressed up” in this place. Therefore you will get the side eye if you show up in jeans like I did.
Two main issues—slow service and very loud.
It did not look understaffed. I saw 5 servers, 2 hosts, 2 runners, 2 bussers for 15 tables. We were having to flag the waiter regularly. We arrived at 7:30, seated promptly, and entered our dinner order at 8. we didn’t get our food until 9.
The food was very good (not great) but I was also very hungry so take that with a grain of salt. No bread or any standard “welcome” offering —just water. Wines were pricey compared to the food, but good selection.
Staff was friendly. Open concept (kitchen/bar/dining room) with high ceilings means it was very loud and, at times, hard to hear the people at your table sitting across from you.
We had Shrimp and Grits, NY Strip, Brussel Sprouts, Broccolini, Duck and Cocktails, ALL of it was excellent.
Have been here before and will continue to go back.

A great spot. Ordered the market fish special (sea bass) and it was wonderful -- perfectly cooked and seasoned set on top of a orzo and veg combo. Don't miss Dogwood if you are in the South Park area.
Excellent food. I got the Duck and Dumplings for starters and the Scallops and Wild Boar for entree. Both AMAZING! Sat at the bar. Drinks were good. I had good company so I wasn’t concerned with the ambience.
The manager stopped to thank us for visiting and he knew that we had recently been to a sister restaurant. Our waitress provided us a complimentary dessert in honor of our anniversary. Several different staff members checked on us throughout the evening. The oyster appetizer was delicious and the Sea Bass and Trout entrees were very good
This was a great find for us. The food and service was amazing! I definitely recommend the trout. Everything we had was prepared perfectly. I’m coming back to this place often.

My husband and I did the Chef’s tasting experience that included 3 courses and 3 speciality cocktail pairings. The food and cocktails were exceptional. The service was spectacular. Chef Johnny and his team did an amazing job with the food tasting. Eli made awesome cocktail pairings with the food. Can’t wait to do this experience again.
Our dinner was absolutely delicious! We had 6 people and we all raved about the food. It was flavorful and arrived hot. Dinners included steak, fish and chicken. Very nice cocktail menu too. We also had wonderful and attentive service.

This was an exceptional experience. We did a “chef’s table” seating at the bar looking into the kitchen. Every dish was exceptional and surprising. The wine and cocktail pairings put it over the top!
The Chef experience with Jonny was amazing. The way they pair drinks with the food is good. You get to see first hand how the kitchen is ran and the chef is open for questions. Loved the different foods, it’s the unknown of what’s coming next that’s exciting. Hands down the best experience I’ve had before and after the pandemic. All the staff is welcoming and they have differ specials during the week. Tuesday was burger day. The burgers looked so good being prepared especially with the Mac and cheese appetizer! Will return
Jessica was lovely and efficient, the food was OUTSTANDING! We had the duck breast and the chicken and both were perfect. We shared succotash and it was tasty. The wine director was amazing and so friendly and welcoming. Our dessert was a warm carrot cake and we loved it. An excellent first experience
Outstanding food and service.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Dogwood. Our waiter was terrific. Great service. The food was amazing. I like to eat at restaurants that serve food I cannot possibly make at home. This was such a place. Great creative mix of ingredients and flavors. Very precise and deliberate. My husband and I shared a small plate of duck and dumplings (yum) and for my entree I had the black grouper which was the market special. It was pricey but worth every bit. Hubby had more duck for dinner.....Overall a wonderful place and you can tell they all care a lot about food and their patrons. I wish I caught our waiters name as I would give him shout out....Thanks for a great evening.
Chef’s Counter Experience Review—-This was our second experience at the Chef’s Counter. About 6 weeks ago we enjoyed our first counter experience so much that we went back tonight for our anniversary dinner. We are pretty adventurous and flexible with food choices so it is so fun to be surprised with each course. We love how Chef Jonny, his staff and the mixologist (I chose the spirit pairings with both visits) explain each course. It is so fun to try something that we would not normally choose off of a menu. Tonight the wild boar with shiitake mushrooms entree was amazing — neither of us had ever had wild boar. Hands down better then any steak I have had recently. The three handcrafted cocktails were fabulous and unique. My husband loved the blueberry gelato to conclude the evening. I highly recommend the counter experience for open minded eaters who are looking for a fun, interactive dining experience.
Food very good as usual, excellent server, comfortable ambience, energetic noise level.
Generally we do not complain, but visit was not what we were looking for to celebrate 2 special birthdays. Seated right by the front door, cocktails were undrinkable, charcuterie board coated in disgusting bourbon mustard sauce. Meals were average at best (Shrimp and Grits won out). Service was impeccable and the only highlight of the evening. Will not go back. Not worth the expense for a fun night out. Total disappointment.
