Dogwood: A Southern Table
Excellent service. Excellent cocktails. The scallops were amazing. The other food was good but the chef could lose his salt shaker and the food would be excellent.
Perfection. Dogwood never disappoints. Got the venison carpaccio, the Dogwood oysters, and the Boar and Scallops and shared the dishes. Amazing food and great service.
Overall we enjoyed the visit. Service was lacking as we had to ask the manager to refill our drinks and the restaurant was not overly busy.
We had a great evening and thoroughly enjoyed a long-overdue night away from the kids. Food was incredible, we did a bunch of small plates instead of entrees and all were incredible. Anthony, our server, was solid and had great recommendations throughout the night.
While the food was very good, the service was less than acceptable. The server reached across the table and knocked over the flower vase, spilling the water onto my husband’s plate and onto my husband. He took my husband’s napkin and our dinner guest’s napkin to sop up the water. A manager came by and was told what had happened. He grabbed my husband’s plate and took it away. Neither the server nor manager offered an apology, We also had to ask for new napkins because it didn’t seem to cross their minds.
No one ever asked if we needed another drink or if we needed anything.
There were four of us, two couples. Thé server never asked how to split the bill and showed up with one tab.
Dogwood" A Southern Table never disappoints! The cocktails are inventive and every so good. The menu is varied and appeals to all tastes. I can't wait to go back.
We had 7 people at the table. Everyone enjoyed the outstanding service, food and Mom’s Cheesecake. Little pricy and very noisy for my kind of atmosphere. Definitely recommended for special occasions.
Always wonderful. Only comment is that there was a sizable (unusually so) lag in basic luncheon entree arrivals.
Food delivery was slow (over 30 minutes) for lunch after we ordered.
Our server, Anthony, was fun, attentive, and knowledgeable. He made excellent recommendations and checked in with us frequently. He seemed to be having as much fun as we were, which really added to the experience. The food was absolutely delicious! We loved everything on the table. We started with the duck and oysters, then moved on to the shrimp and grits and sides of the seasonal veg (broccoli/ cauliflower hybrid), collard greens, and crab hush puppies. We also had wonderful cocktails, the port flight, cheesecake, and the sweet potato pound cake. There were 3 of us, so we tried lots of different things. Highly recommend!
Sitting at kitchen counter was an awesome experience to watch everything going on. The soups chef handed up some special treats and talked about prep and recipes. The chef was amazingly attentive to detail of the food and asked our opinion a few times. Definitely one of our top spots in town.
The food was amazing and the ambience was unbelievable. The service was also spectacular. I highly recommend Dogwood
Always a great experience at Dogwood, and the food is top-notch.
Wonderful as always. The omelet is enough to share! Drinks were fabulous
One of the best meals we have had in Charlotte. This was our third time here and all three times have been wonderful. The service is great and so is the food.
One of our favorite places to eat in Charlotte. It a beautiful day so we are on their patio. Hamburger, crabcake and the salad we ordered were all perfect. They do special requests to make the dish how you prefer. It was my daughter’s birthday and they brought her a complimentary piece of sweet potato pound cake with maple glaze and it was moist and perfectly favored. One of our favorite things at Southern Dogwood is their bacon jam appetizer. We’ve never found it anywhere better. It’s always a must!
Superb service, really good food and reasonable.
Fun lunch Downtown and outside
We enjoyed a leisurely dinner on a Wednesday evening. The only reason I gave only 4 stars was that the noise level was higher than I expected. Service was excellent, and we were slow to order! The octopus appetizer and fresh oysters were delicious, as was the mahi catch of the day and the pappardelle. I was not daring enough to try sweet corn gelato, so the berry sorbet made a refreshing end to the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Manger was amazing and took great care of us, but felt that our server kind of forgot about us.
From the old fashioned to the last bite of food everything was delicious, flavorful, and fresh!
Excellent. Flavors are always exceptional as is service. Our waiter was personable, attentive and made our evening fun (without being intrusive). Scallops and boar are divine as was the duck breast. Dining outside is the best from a noise perspective.
Great food and service, we are regulars to this restaurant and it consistently delivers! The brunch there on Sunday is very good, especially the fried chicken biscuit.
Food is fine. Nothing bad just a bit light on flavor.
I met some girlfriends for lunch and sat outside. The trout was amazing and the service was great. I would definitely eat there again. Parking is easy on the street or in any of the garages.
Welcoming, comfortable and excellent food - always consistent and accommodating. So glad to heave chosen Dogwood for dinner.
We had a wonderful experience outside and the staff was amazing!!!
It was a great night so we sat outside, the food was perfect and so was the service
Beware of lots of flies if you sit outside, not the restaurants fault but just something to understand. Servers attire was very recalled on more than one server, restaurant should supply attire. The host seems very new and very nervous. Our server was a bit over casual, she mentioned she would eat the rest of our dessert since we didn’t eat the whole thing which was kind of gross. The ribs were dry, and the food came out all at once so it was difficult to enjoy everything.
Excellent food and superb service. Highly recommend for foodies who desire food to table.
Cocktail and wine pours were inconsistent. Commented to the server and she didn’t seem to care.
My good friend and I met here for dinner and it was amazing! We chose it because it was farm to table. The restaurant has a great vibe and out waiter was fantastic. We started wit their chorizo & hush puppies. They were delicious! I had the shrimp and grits. I had never eaten them ever before and they were really good. My friend had their SRF Wagyu Skirt Steak and their salad special. The food was wonderful. I highly recommend!
First of all, this restaurant is spectacular. I've been multiple ties, and the food, cocktails, and service are always fantastic. I wasn't too fond of the Shrimp sandwich on this visit, but I think it was my personal tastes vs the preparation. Looking forward to my next visit.
We were celebrating my stepmother’s birthday, which I had put in the notes of OpenTable, but the hostess, server, or manager never mentioned anything about it - it’s a small gesture, but shows they pay attention and are glad you came to their restaurant to celebrate; probably the only downside to our dining experience besides incredibly firm brussel sprouts. The octopus & chorizo was outstanding, the scallops & boar was stellar, and the house-made pasta was great with their pesto-marinated chicken. Carla was very knowledgeable and straightforward with the menu, we appreciated her service and having patience since we were the last table in the restaurant! It was too good, we didn’t want to leave!
Outstanding establishment. Top 3 dining experience rivaling any restaurant I’ve been to in NYC, and the handful of restaurants I’ve been to abroad.
Love Dogwood Southern...and all the the Dressler family of restaurants...excellent and creative food and service. My one issue this time...the wedge salad was not a wedge at all...just scattered lettuce with dressing, lardons and tomatoes...good but taste buds were set on a wedge.
We sat outside so it was quiet. Wild scallops were cooked perfectly and wine pairing was excellent. Very friendly server who knew all about the dishes
