   I had dinner two nights in a row at Dogwood this week. The food was great both nights. Last night we hosted 20 people for dinner and the staff could not have been more accommodating.

   A great steak. Seasoned fries not seasoned. No salt & pepper at table. Had to ask for a steak knife so I could eat the steak. A beautiful restaurant and great cocktail options. The server was not available often.

   This was the slowest kitchen I have ever seen in my life. The service wasn't great either. We had a 5:15 pm reservation. We were seated immediately. Between ordering drinks and appetizers, it took an hour. Then, when we ordered dinner (a salad and a burger), it took another 45 mins. We didn't leave the restaurant until 7:47 pm. The server was nice and pleasant. We gave her a good tip. However, the kitchen and staffing made it a horrible experience.

Two local concerts, in conjunction with the torrential rain caused us to be FAR busier than we were expecting at that time.    Wasn't quite what I expected (my lack of research I guess), but overall nice experience. I didn't realize this was a restaurant in a hotel. It was a big space with many seats and while we (4 total) were seated at a booth that was quiet enough for good conversation, it's important to note the restaurant overall is pretty much the opposite of a cozy, intimate place. Still, very nice. My 3 companions had the trout with parsnip puree which was good (although the sweetness of the puree didn't quite work), I had the pork shank with field peas which was absolutely fantastic. Pretty limited wine list.

   The waitress was overworked and trying to serve too many tables. The wrong meal was served to my wife. It took a long time to get seated only because no one was at the hostess station. Last, very loud in the restaurant.

   Lovely meal with a mix of appetizers with cocktails. Phenomenal service from the staff to seat us to the servers. Beautiful space however as the space filled it was a bit hard to hear due to how the sound carried in the large space. Would definitely return to Dogwood.

   We were huge fans of Dogwood when it was located in South Park. We went on Easter Sunday. The food was great, our waitress Sofia, was amazing. Our only minor complaint was that we had to wait past our reservation time, but it was a holiday. If I wasn't moving away from CLT, I would go back again!

   Our first time there and it was for the Easter brunch buffet. We weren’t quite sure what to expect but it FAR exceeded our expectations. They literally had everything you could imagine for brunch and it was absolutely delicious. Seafood tower, build your own charcuterie station, shrimp and grits station, made to order omelets and eggs Benedict, carving station including ham and prime rib, and a vast variety of homemade desserts. We will definitely be back!

    The brunch was wonderful. Beautiful presentation. Many options. Very fresh food. Martha’s service was great.
