   Awful! Carribean night could not have been less Carribean if they tried. We were informed the chef was carribean so we're excited for the food however big let down. We had the rice a peas which was more microwave rice, about 6 kidney beans and not a pinch of seasoning in sight. We had the jerk chicken wrap that had NO jerk about it, it was more a chicken paste in a wrap with sauce on the side and a sad looking salad of oily lettuce and red onion. We were hoping as it was Carribean night to have rich, flavoursome, and appealing food! We got the complete opposite...We quickly asked for the bill to then be overcharged which just made us leave very quickly. We also had to sit and eat our meal where there was a very strong smell of old drains coming from behind the bar. Would not recommend.

   We love The Dog & Pheasant. Open fires always make for a warm welcone, as do the staff. Foid always excellent as is servuce.

   Booked for a late lunch after a local walk. Arrived an hour early which wasn’t a problem for the staff. Traditional country pub which hasn’t been spoiled and has a couple of open log fires which added to the ambiance. Delicious roast beef cooked to perfection with generous portion of vegetables. Couldn’t fault it! Very friendly and attentive staff particularly Alice. We will be returning soon

   My girlfriend and I enjoyed the lovely Sunday Roast. Her and I have the Pork Belly and the mixed roast respectively. Both perfectly cook. The pork belly literally melt in the mouth. Same for the side vegetables , patatoes in particular. The service was lovely too. Final touch the open fire. We couldn’t ask more in a rainy Sunday.

   Great pub food menu - pies, bangers and mash, scampi etc all very well cooked plus service with a smile. On the downside, absolutely freezing inside so we and many others eat with our coats on? This doesn't make for a happy experience. Only one member of staff serving food (she was lovely) but we left without dessert, coffees etc.

   Lovely pub with lovely food. Also dog friendly which is a must for us.

   It’s a cute pub that I’ve known for years but under new management. Issue was the food/price. We had turkey roast for £20 - and was 2 of the thinnest smallest slices of what could have been sandwich slices and 2 potatoes with other bits. The worst value - a literal robbery. They weren’t happy about my request for more - couldn’t was all sold. Will go for a beer again but not risking the food
