My husband and I shared the porterhouse. What a treat!
Disappointed...service was slow even though restaurant was fairly empty. Seemed understaffed. Steak was lukewarm at arrival, and was just ok taste wise. Not bad but not great either.
I took my wife a 2 kids for dinner. I knew that my bill would be better than $250 before I went. I was a little disappointed in the fact that they were out of our first two choices of wine. The fillets were outstanding in taste, and cooked to perfection. They should have heated the plates though because the butter began to solidify before I finished. The salad was really wonderful and the potato was just a potato. The tamales however stole the show. Service was about par. But not worth the 320$ for a good steak.. Don’t get me wrong, the steak was extremely good.....
We arrived early, no one at entrance to greet customers. My fiancé waited for hostess / waitress to arrive while I went to bar to get us a seat and order our beverages. The only positive experience was the female bartender and she was great for the hour or more we were left sitting there. The steaks were poor quality and the waiter kept making excuses for his mistakes while there were a total of 4 tables in the entire restaurant. After having been there for greats than 2.5 hours we ask that our dessert be placed in to go boxes so we could leave. The manager came to our table and sat and was a little intrusive considering we were celebrating our engagement and my fiancé bday. Would not go back and think it is extremely overpriced in comparison to other top end steak houses in the area that have good service, ambiance, beverages, competent staff as well as good food! HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!
Doe's never fails in the Yummy department. Their fried shrimp is to die for. The filet steak you can cut it with a butter knife. If we lived closer we would be there two to three days a week. I crave their peanut butter pie. Doe's is a MUST experience at least a few dozen times.
I have to say the filet mignon was awesome!! It will be my choice every visit!!
Melt in your mouth steaks seasoned perfectly! Service was friendly and professional!
It was ok- just not as formal as I though it would be. the Tbone I had was huge- and well cooked. Over $100 for 2 people. Fine with that.... but I thought it would be more formal, upscale.... with some ambiance. But.... Margaritaville in Biloxi really caters to kids, etc. More of a Kid friendly, family friendly place. The ocean is right there.... but no good views from the restaurant. In the end though- the food and service were both good.
Food was Doe's quality for sure!!! We shared a Porter House Steak and the wedge salad both were perfect. I also got a dozen hot tamales to go for Sunday night treats. The hot tamales are STILL the best I've ever had. The server was very nice and helpful. I have been going to Doe's Eat Place in Greenville, MS since I was 5 years old and is a must whenever near Greenville and they are open. We requested the Porter House to be sliced in the kitchen for us (as it always was in Greenville) and it was done but, we were informed that we would NOT be able to get it cut for the table again because they usually don't have time to do that... We were told that it is NOT cut in Greenville anylonger either. We got ours cut thankfully. I don't understand because with a Chef's knife it would take a lay-man hardly more than 60 seconds...?
When we spoke with frinds in Little Rock, AK the next day we were assured that Saturday night their Doe's Eat Place broght it to them cut without asking. Good to know they are still taking the time!
Great steaks! The best on the Coast for sure! So pleased to have a Doe's on the Coast!
The filets my kids had were great but the porterhouse I had was full of fat. And the whole meal was badly overpriced. Not a terrible experience but do not think I will be back.
This place is uncomfortable with poor ambiance, and mediocre food. I had the tamales and they were full of some weird spice that takes over your taste buds. Won’t eat here again.
The food was great but not the right environment for a romantic date or special occasion. It is definitely a family friendly, casual restaurant with a high price tag. Our steaks were overcooked but still tasted good.
Another good dinner at Does. Very busy, but the waitress quickly took back
2 items that needed finishing in the kitchen. Will look forward to a future visit!
The food was excellent. The atmosphere is phenomenal and the waitress was great!!
This is was our first visit to Doe's to celebrate my Father's last cancer treatment. This was not one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. The fried shrimp tasted like frozen battered shrimp which was a disappointment since we were sitting on the Gulf Mexico where the shrimp should be large freshly battered and fried shrimp. Our waiter did a great job taking care of us and was very attentive. When you spend $$ for dinner I would expect a meal that I couldn't wait to experience again and suggest to friends.
The kids meals or mediocre at best. They never brought any. bread and we had to ask a few times for drinks. The kids chicken fingers were over breaded and very hard. And borderline inedible. The kids mac and cheese was sub par, not what you would expect at a notable steakhouse. The steak was good and the wedge salad was ok. The peanut butter pie, however, was fantastic. It was the best thing we had.
Not sure where to start other than this was a huge disappointment. My son and I ordered the cowboy ribeye medium rare, was served more towards medium to well done and dry on the inside. My daughters ordered the porterhouse and they said it was slightly cold. I’m not sure if it was a bad night or what but I’ve had better steak elsewhere. Other than that the service was great (don’t recall the servers name, don’t believe he told us lol). Just overall very disappointed for the money I spent tonight I could’ve taken my family to Logan’s and ate a better steak at a much lower price. Ill just go to Greenville sometime and eat at the original. Most of the franchises aren’t ever as good as the original.
I have food allergies and eating out can be pretty difficult and nerve-wracking. Our waiter was great and so knowledgeable with the menu items, the ingredients, and how everything is cooked. He was patient and helpful with all of my questions.
Tamales were fantastic and their date night special was an unexpected surprise.
Great steaks. Steaks are large portions. Would be nice to have a choice of smaller size on ribeye.
A la carte pricing on sides. Everything was extremely tasty.
We had eaten at the Doe's in Arkansas and were thrilled when we saw that one was here in Biloxi. We went for a date night and were over the moon! It was truly the best steak that we had EVER had! Head and shoulders above the one in Arkansas, which we really liked. The only thing we kind of missed were the fried rolls. But that was minor and more than made up for with everything else on the menu! We had the date night special and had the tamales and they were just amazing! We even took a dozen to go. Everything was just delicious! Can't say enough about how pleased we were with our meals. The wait staff were also pleasant and accommodating. We said we will make this a regular date night location!
Date night special was very good value and excellent food. Will definitely eat there again
Food was okay. We had the crab claws for our appetizer and didn’t come with any kind of dipping sauce. The steaks were very good. Actually the only reason I would go back. The garlic toast was more like butter toast and mostly burnt. My wife’s twice baked potato was very good. I had the vegetables and couldn’t eat some of it bc it was burned. The service was fine just nothing to write about. I feel the prices are higher than they should be, especially being a la cart. $34 steak and no side is kind of crazy.
The food we were served was cold and had to be hearted. The service was extremely slow. The twice baked potato was the best thing on the menu. We will not be back.
Food was very good. Steaks were just as we ordered. Service was very good.
Will go back.
Steaks were great, service was slow. Maybe a new waitress but could improve.
The best thing about Does was the steak. We had the date night special. Salad, appetizer, 6 oz. Filet and shared dessert. $60. I had house salad that was just ok. Iceberg lettuce, onion, croutons, house dressing. Hubby had salad wedge. I think they should offer a salad with romaine, spinach leaves, spring mix, something with better greens. We chose fried shrimp for appetizer over tamales. They were good size shrimp, but better fell off as you ate, not as flavorful as hoped. The steak was hand cut and served in juice of steak drippings they had cut off and not used. This was yummy and steak was tender and cooked perfectly. We chose Makers Mark bread pudding with ice cream $2 more, and it was melt in yourf mouth delicious. All in all an enjoyable meal. Waiter was attentive and friendly. I would go back just for the steak!
Our waitress was FABULOUS! We were there on Monday, February 12th at 7p. I do not remember her name but she was the absolute best!
It was enjoyable.
We had crab claws, steak, loaded pot, broccoli with cheese. We shared a large steak. All food was excellent. The steak was awesome. We cook out at home a lot. Therefore we are hesitant or order steak out because so many times we don’t feel like they are as good as we can do. Not this time!
The redfish was bland. No flavor. The potato was cold and no loaded.. I was disappointed. I expected a lot more at that price point.
Not the best, but not the worst.
Great food Great service.. Would go back again in the future
The food was excellent. They had a few options if you do not care for beef. My husband raved about the ribeye and the baked potato was perfectly cooked. I did order a mojito and could not tell if they actually added the rum. Other than that, this is an excellent place to dine if you love steak.
My husband and I enjoyed Doe’s Eat Place in Margaritaville Resort. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. The owner, Doe, was there sitting people, waiting tables and interacting with us while we dine.
We have eaten at Doe's in Biloxi MS & Monroe LA and the steaks are consistently wonderful, they are absolutely the BEST I have ever eaten! My preference is the Filet Mignon it never disappoints! I get the 10 oz and take home half to savor another time. The au jus that comes on the plate is AMAZING! The French fries are hand cut and delicious! My husband gets the ribeye and is equally impressed! The service is great and the staff is attentive and courteous. I highly recommend Doe's...you will not be disappointed!
I booked for the Doe’s date night through this site. When we arrived we didn’t mention the date night special because we already booked it. The server did not even mention the date night special, however, we overheard her mention it to the couple behind us. This is when I decided to mention or reservation for the date night. She did fix it and only charged us for it. However, we didn’t get our appetizer. Drinks and food were really good. Just mention the date night special on a Sunday night if that’s what you want.
We enjoyed our first experience eating at Doe's, steaks were delicious!
Fantastic steaks. You haven't had great steak until you've tried Doe's. Pan drippings poured over the steak add a whole new taste experience. Great sides, especially the fries and mushrooms. Good service.
The Steaks are great! We will be visting once a month.
