Doe's Eat Place in Margaritaville Resort Biloxi
Highly recommend the filet and tamales. Absolutely Delish!
The food here is fantastic! The steaks are always cooked just right and are so tender.
Our plan was to have the tamale appetizer with salad leaving room for dessert. The plan worked nicely
We waited for 15 minutes to be greeted with only smiling acknowledgements from hurried waiters. It was labor day evening and even with reservations it did not matter we ended up leaving before even being seated.
Even Better Than I Expected
I had heard of the original Doe’s up in Greenville, MS for years before the one opened on the Coast. So this weekend, we got around to trying it and the short story is—we’ll definitely be back. Though not a big fan of tamales but these were excellent as was the dressing on the salad. The filet was so tender we hardly needed a knife and had a lot of flavor. The Mississippi Mud cake for desert was delicious though really rich (as one would expect.) And the service was excellent. What else could you ask for?
Was not told about special, asked for medium well steak, received medium rare steak, food is expensive and overrated.
Food was good. Service was horrible. Took 20 minutes to get drinks and server comes back with a sweet tea for my daughter who ordered a Coke. He said they were having issues with the coke machine and he just broke tea in its place. As we are waiting for food, we notice others with soft drinks. Ask another server if the soft drinks were available and they responded by bringing my daughter a coke.
My husband an I shared the ribeye and it was so grisly my baked potato was cold. My daughter-in-law salad was overdressed. I had made reservations when we got there it was a high table and we had 2 children so we had to wait for them to make up a table
The service was super, drinks were excellent but we go for the steak and it is awesome as always.
Tamales very bland. We ordered tamales with chili and cheese, had to ask for chili and cheese after they brought to table. Steak was very gristly but had great flavor. Wait staff was very nice. Restaurant is small in comparison to Monroe location, but nice ambiance.
Service was EXCELLENT..besides the guy carrying our food around for 10mins..looking for the right table. I had to stop him and tell him it was ours. The tamales were cold and dry (I ordered a dozen to take half home) I ate about 3. Our waitress was amazing but they need to focus on food!
The steak was amazing! We enjoyed dining in a quiet restaurant with great food.
Enjoyed a good meal in pleasant surroundings and great wait staff
The food was delicious. I thought it would have been a fancier place but it was great food.
Our waiter was new but he was excellent.
Absolutely wonderful experience all of the way around. Best steak I have ever eaten. Outstanding service. Would most definitely recommend, and will most definitely be eating here again.
Great rib eye
Good value for the price
Server was slow as there were only a few tables that were being used. Had to ask for drink refills food was good.
Our waiter didn't check on us enough. My potato was cold. I could have used another glass of wine and we were going to order dessert but waiter was not available very often.
we waited 45 minutes for our orders. My filet mignon was mostly grizzle. I ordered Ice cream for my kids for desert (vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup) and it took over 20 minutes. There was hardly anyone in there. Just go to Ruth Chris or Morton Steak House across the street.
Vacation with the family. It is a little expensive for a family meal but it was really a nice experience to enjoy a vacation meal with the entire family in a restaurant that was not so noisy that talking was enjoyable as well as the food and service made it a very pleasant evening!
The food was not as satisfying as that which we were served at the Doe's in Greenville, (specifically the french fries that at no longer fried in duck fat), and the steak was a little greasy. Our waiter, while pleasant enough did not communicate as well as we would have liked regarding the menu/offerings.
Filet was cooked perfectly. Best baked potato I’ve ever had. Broiled shrimp were perfectly seasoned and delicious.
My husband and I traveled from Louisiana to eat at Doe's. We love visiting Steakhouses all over. The steak, for us, was enjoyable, but nothing worth driving a distance for. But more than that, everything was a la cart which is fine, but if you are charging like you are fine dining, you should provide what the customer is paying for. Overall, we felt like it was overpriced for the quantity and quality.
Glad they had fish choice on menu—it was excellent. Also the crab cakes were delicious. Only down side there was no salt and pepper on the table so my husband’s food almost got cold waiting to get server’s attention
Where do I begin? We got seated very fast. I had to send my drink back twice because of things being in it. Then I had to get a total differnt drink. The waitress kept forgetting to bring things to us we ask for including my steak that needed to be cooked longer. I didn’t get my food until everyone at my table was almost completely done. The amount we were charged was differnt than the amount of the check that was brought to the table. Once we brought it to the managers attention she looked and explained why. However I still feel if you are going to charge someone something different than what you originally told them you should tell them first. We will not be back.
Service was a little slow even though it was not very crowded. We had the t-bone and it was one of the best steaks we’ve ever had!
Food is pretty good. Not sure it’s worth it but if you want a good steak and don’t mind the price this place is for you. Everything is separate.
The restaurant had a bit of a rustic feel to it and was a bit small. The chairs were not real comfortable like many restaurants today. It was quiet even as the restaurant filled. The service was quick with attention to detail. The appetizer tamales were very good but the chili sauce while good was not in line with the tamales. The steaks and side were excellent. I shared a two pound cowboy ribeye with my wife and we still took a good portion home. The juices within which the steak was served was divine and I used it on the cut meat and sides of potato, mushrooms and sautéd onions. The grilled asparagus was some of the best I've had. The meal was a dining experience and I highly recommend it. The price was in line with the quality of the meal. I would have liked the seats to be more comfortable.
Probably best steakhouse on the gulf coast. Huge portions of beef and sides. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Wait staff was good but needs a little more training.......waiter did not know the term "blue" on steak doneness, didn't write table orders down, had to come back twice to clarify orders. Other than that, service was very good.
Definitely a destination for great food and special occasions.
Thought tamales before a steak was odd, but they were fantastic! Get the chili and cheese. Our fillets- were the two of the best I’ve had since I can remember. Highly recommend it! And I don’t usually write reviews. Oh yeah- lemon ice box pie- a must also.
One of our steaks was not cooked properly and mgmt lady ask if she needed to get a flashlight for us to see it - not very professional.
Excellent Steaks and great service!
Have been here often. Food was excellent as usual. Will be back.
Best steak we ever had in a restaurant! All the food was exceptional, including the peanut butter pie! Service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was great! We will definitely go back and reccomend to everyone! Great experience!!!
Doe's Eat Place has best steaks anywhere! Love their salad too.
Very slow service for no seemingly good reason... manager had to step in and she obviously cared. Filet was amazing and good cocktails but the tamales had no taste at all.
Worth every penny! Can’t wait to go back! Cowboy steak was awesome!
The steak was good but potato was a reheat and salad was lettuce and onion horrible, tamales were gross, husbands ff came at the end of meal after asking for them. Very expensive place and definitely not worth it.
Food and service were excellent! Will def be going back the next time we are there!
We had the cowboy ribeye mushrooms and twice baked potato everything was excellent .. we will go back for sure
