Dinner out at docs and a concert at park theatre is a home run!
We enjoyed eating at Doc's. I had never been to an ice bar, so I had a drink there before going inside to eat. The food was great and the service outstanding.
First time at Doc's but it was an excellent surprise as you never know what you're going to find, even when friends say only good things.
We started the meal with the liver pate appetizer, which had a fresh fig, as well as fig jam with it, everything was very good, the pate nice and creamy.
For my entree, I had the duck that was perfectly prepared and the cherry sauce very complimenting of the dish overall. My date had the veal Parm, with was excellent as well , in addition to being far to big to finish.
Would have liked to have tried the creme brulee but simply didn't have enough room to squeeze even a single bite in.
Doc's is a wonderfully hidden gem in the City that ranks as one of the best restaurants in town.
Went to Docs for the first time this past weekend. Overall it was a enjoyable experience. I had the beet salad and scallops and both were delicious. My husband had the lobster roll which he ate every bit of. We both ordered off of the cocktail list which was different, interesting, and refreshing.
Service however seemed quite slow. The wait staff did not make it to our table for at least 10 minutes after we arrived. Drinks seemed to take another 15 and came out right before our salad. We ordered another round of drinks when our dinner came out and they did not make it to the table until well after we were done. Most all the desserts were sold out by the time we ordered so we decided to pass.
Overall, I think we’d go back. The food was good and I’d be willing to give service a second chance.
Loved the new menu. Our waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable. We have never been disappointed eating out at Doc’s!
Great Food. Great service
Worst rib eye I have ever had. Chef needs training.
wonderful staff, excellent service, great food
It is a real gem of a restaurant in the city. It is oddly located in the basement space of an old beautifully renovated Vaudeville theater, with a charming spiral staircase or round glass elevator to get down to the place. It was my first time eating dinner there, having enjoyed several luncheons. Overall, it was a fine dinner experience.
I had higher expectations for the food and ambience. Based on pictures and the menu I was expecting a quiet, little more sophisticated setting. There was no soft music playing and the noise level was very high. We had set out for a special date night and we had a hard time hearing each other across the table. We enjoyed our salads, soup and dessert was amazing. Our main course was only average in both taste and presentation. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We will give it another try but probably lunch next time and hopefully on the patio. I wish them much success.
Lovely, relaxing venue. Interesting entrees. Lobster bisque was fabulous. Loved having the avocado fries and avocado blt. Nice to walk here after visiting the Hyde museum.
Second time here and once again an outstanding experience, all the way around. I enjoyed the same meal (chicken jambalaya) and it was, once again, fabulous ... and now it's consistently fabulous. French onion soup was great, as well. Open Table does not offer enough stars that this establishment has earned!
I would recommend with reservations. While the person I was with had a very good scallop dinner, the lobster bisque I had was much too salty. The pear salad that I had in addition to the soup was good, as was the crab cake appetizer. Some of the downsides: took a long time before anyone came to our table, probably 15 minutes. No menus, no water, etc. After eating our crab cake appetizer, the waitress took the plate and my fork and knife, but failed to bring me a clean knife to use to butter the bread, which came late. The waitress also dropped off the bill before we had finished eating and then checked back shortly to ask if I’d taken care of it yet. Ambiance is quite nice, quiet even when busy, and pleasing to look around. So, with reservations, I’d recommend Doc’s, but be prepared for a wait staff that may not be up to par and for food that may not be consistent in quality.
A warm and welcoming atmosphere, with excellent and attentive service. The Wine List was ample, as were the serving portions. Entrees were intriguing and creative. We will definitely return, and are already recommending to friends and associates.
Great place for casual quiet dinner. Very well-prepared and good food with some innovative dishes and reasonable prices. We have been here several times for lunch and dinner and never disappointed. The service was excellent.
What an outstanding first impression! We arrived on time, seated immediately, served immediately, waitress was wonderful, entire place was spotlessly beautiful and our food was served quickly and was indescribably delicious. Can't wait to go back! Great job 👍 to all!
We had scallops and salmon, both of which were cooked very well. The servings of side dishes were large and did not necessarily complement each other. The pear, basil, goat chese and balsamic flatbread pizza was exceptional with amazing crust and flavors. We will definitely return.
So very good!!!
The menu had several wonderful options making it difficult to choose. Service was outstanding...prompt , efficient, and every effort was made to honor our requests. Surroundings were comfortable and quiet , allowing for our privacy .
Hope to return soon
I reviewed your menu on line and was very impressed .I immediately made a reservation for 2 through Open Table. We were seated as we walked in the door, not invited to the bar like most restaurants.Service was terrific and attentive by Rachel ,food was presented properly and piping hot,not sitting under the lights.Your restaurant is highly recommended and cannot wait to come back with friends,Keep up the good work.
Loved everything about this place! Food and service were both excellent!
When I called to confirm my reservation they said they did not have one from Open Table. Yes I got an email confirmation from Open Table. Waitress read specials to us but never stated the prices. Also never asked if we wanted dessert. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
I went on a midweek night and it was comfortable and quiet. Service excellent and great specials!
Great find in the newly renovated Park St theatre.
On the fence for a recommendation here, food was comparable to better restaurants however ambiance left a lot to be desired, flooring, lighting, table all contributed to a subpar dining experience.
Four times I have dined at Doc's and all 4 times dinner was exceptional. Twice I was with a group of 7 and all meals came out at the same time, the hot dishes were hot and the cold dishes were cold! All 7 enjoyed their meals - quite a feat, I'd say! Service is always good with servers very attentive, but not too attentive. I rated the ambiance as "good" because I think the lighting is a little too bright. Tone it down a couple notches and right on.
Our dinner was lovely. There was a great duck dish, hanger steak, a shrimp/prawn dish and jambalaya at our table. Half salads were big! Glad we came with a good appetite. Bread pudding was yummy too.
First time we met w friends from out of town. Everyone enjoyed their food and ambiance. Service was friendly and timely. It was a summer weeknight so no idea how
Busy they are on weekends but we had a great experience. We will definitely add it to our list of favs
We went to Docs because we were seeing a show upstairs. The service was outstanding- pleasant, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and creative, and being vegan it was nice to enjoy an entree that was more than a salad. My husband loved his beer. We will go back.
This is a hidden gem. It is my new favorite Resturant in the area. I went 3 times this week and had a great meal each night. Very nice staff.
Outstanding food, right in downtown Glens Falls, well worth the trip to go there!
Prime rib was outstanding, scallops a bit salty, but cooked well. Ok wine list. Large portions with small portions on most entrees. Mixed drinks were just ok for our group. Nice atmosphere with friendly service. Will definitely go back.
The helpings were large, but overall I was underwhelmed. In terms of ambiance, the lighting over the main seating area of the restaurant was direct overhead lighting from a cold-bluish LED light source. They would have been better served by use of warmer and indirect lighting to better complement the décor. The food was plentiful but uninspired. The crab Cobb salad had abundant crab meat that over the top of the salad; but the meat was rather flavorless and felt out-of-place. I always enjoy an Impossible Burger, but their preparation and presentation was drier and more bland than Impossible Burgers I have eaten elsewhere. I cannot comment on the my companion's meals, but no one felt particularly inspired to offer/share tastes and much of the food went unconsumed (speaking more toward the quantity than quality).
Located in downtown Glens Falls, this is a gem. From the moment we walked in, you can see a lot went into renovating this building. Beautiful and tastefully decorated. We walked down a spiral staircase to Doc’s (beautiful glass elevator is available). Once there, beautiful, intimate seating. Our server was friendly and quietly attentive as we were there with friends to chat. Let’s just say, you can make a meal off the house salad. Huge portion, filled with raisins, nuts, cheese and fresh salad ingredients. Our main courses were all excellent, most impressive was that they use as many local ingredients as possible. Even the smaller portions were enough for all of us. We were all very happy that they do offer that option. The chef is very creative with the presentations and use of ingredients. We did not order any mixed drinks, just beer and wine. No one had any room for dessert. Wish we had, the menu looked delicious. Upstairs over Doc’s is a small event facility called the Park Theater. We were lucky to go and enjoy a night of 80’s music with plenty of room for dancing. They do need a few more small tables around the outside of the dance floor, that would be my only negative comment. I know we look forward to more activities being held there and are already planing another visit.
Red snapper was perfectly cooked.
Beet salad was exceptional.
We had a great time. Good food
A nice addition to Glens Falls dining.
Great service and food.
The food was awesome. We all raved over our meals. Rib eye, salmon, and shrimp stir fry. So tasty and all was cooked to perfection. The only complaints are the booth seating is a little tight, and the décor needs some color. TOO dark and not enough colorful local art. Since you are supporting local farmers, you should add art from local artists. Need flowers on tables, and candles that work. Otherwise a beautiful renovation on the building, and once again, the food was not a disappointment. We will definitely go back again. It was SUPERB.
Doc’s is a fantastic restaurant with excellent food and great ambiance. Their salads are outstanding, and I highly recommend the pear salad. I ordered the New York Strip for my entree and it was definitely closer to medium/medium well, rather than the medium rare that I ordered. But it was still very tasty and the veggies were spot on. We had a really nice time here.
