Jesus took great care of use. His service made the experience.
Great food and service. The perfect margarita was , well, perfect. And the trumpet mushrooms with mole was a unique special dish
Came for the relleno which were dissapointing
Food was outstanding. Gertie our server was super helpful in making menu choices. We really enjoyed our experience.
Food was excellent. Our server was so cheerful and prompt, we left her a great tip. But we were seated right next to the small bar in the dining room, and a group of 5-6 people were clustered in a group, standing nearly touching one of our chairs (only two were on barstools) talking loudly (to the point we had a hard time conversing) and they were uncomfortably close to us talking and laughing loudly. given these covid times. The restaurant manager should have asked them to get a table or move to the large bar. We didn’t complain because we didn’t want to be a problem but wish someone had noticed the issue.
We had a reservation and were seated right on time. We had our 2 year old with us and the entire staff was very accommodating and went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable and giving her a little extra attention. We will definitely be back
Overpriced- the steak was pounded and terribly unseasoned Ribeye.
Super, super food and extremely great service!
Food is always mediocre.
Food was delicious!!
The dining room was a bit cold but was tolerable
Service was punctual and courteous
We really enjoyed our dinner. Tasty Palomas, tortilla soup, and Chile rellano. Wonderful atmosphere.
Wonderful good and service. Eat here! Sweet potato tamale and blue corn enchilada were great.
Wonderful. Recommend it for any occasion
Our waiter was fabulous and the food delicious !! Perfect place for dinner!! Margaritas were perfect
Great atmosphere and energy. The sweet potato tamale is very fun and great presentation. Menu is a good mix of fun and high end selection. Red Chili flan was a great way to end the meal. My favorite restaurant in Taos.
The Carne Asada and the Steak Special were outstanding and very good value.
Friendly staff and tasty food. Nice selection on the menu & wide variety of adult beverages.
One of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in years. Seated in the middle of the room with staff continually bumping our chairs with a wobbly table despite making the reservation weeks ago. Food was almost inedible. Greet staff was rude. One member of our party is allergic to chiles. Non spicy dishes were out. Asked for a chicken taco with no chilies. Was served one with extra chilies instead. We have eaten here every year for years. Never again!!!
THESE ARE DIFFICULT TIMES FOR ALL, BUT WHEN YOU PURPOSELY ASK TO HAVE SOME TIME WITH YOUR APPETIZER AND COCKTAIL AND THEN TWO BITED LATTER YOU GET YOUR ENTREE, SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG. THE SERVER WAS KIND ENOUGH TO TAKE MY APPETIZER OFF MY BILL WITHOUT MY EVEN SUGGESTING IT.
AT 4:30 AT NIGHT, FEW IN THE DINING ROOM, YOU WOULD THINK THE SERVER AND KITCHEN COULD COMMUNICATE AND DELIVER A DINNER TO BE SAVORED VS FAST FOOD. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO RUSHED!
Loved the Vegan Mole dish with mushrooms and the spicy margarita.... was fantastic... Cute place great vibe
Excellent, authentic New Mexican cuisine. Great, quick service.
Vacation. Place was recommended. Did not disappoint.
Historic setting, great ambience, delicious food. Wine list could be improved.
We had a very pleasant experience. Some of the food was extraordinary and some was so so. Interestingly the signature dish of chili rellonoes was mediocre at best. They shone however when it came to the cornbread with chili butter was fabulous! Moist and tasty, not too hot. Dessert and margaritas were also excellent.
The food was so good. The mushrooms with mole we’re excellent!
First time dining at Doc Martin’s. The restaurant was packed—we were seated at a less than comfortable table—and our waiter, Ryan, clearly had many tables to service (and he told us that there was but one bartender for the entire restaurant). Yet, Ryan took very good care of us; the drinks came, albeit a little slowly; and the food came out reasonably quickly. I had the very good green chile cheeseburger; my husband had the tacos (and recommended the pork tacos).
Excellent meal and wait staff. Hostess at the front was kind of curt with people ahead of us with reservations and who wanted different seating in the bar area but our waiter, Jesús and his new trainee, Matt, were great. We were seated immediately, ordered drinks and apps and had a delicious meal. Started with house margs (very tasty, cold, delicious) and the queso fundido with chorizo (only way to go!) - so creamy and flavorful and the roasted beet salad with greens and goat cheese - light, fresh and delightful. I had a bowl of the Abuelita's green chili pork stew for the main and it was sooooo good. I would get this again in a heartbeat. Hubby got the New Mexico cut of the day which was ribeye (med-rare) and it was perfectly cooked. He had asparagus and polenta as a side and it was memorable. Staff were on point - Jesús and the "new guy," Matt were attentive, courteous, and friendly.
I've been to Santa Fe (from Denver) many times and this was my first visit as hubby came along this trip and we loved it. I will definitely recommend to friends coming here and will try to make a reservation next time I'm in town!
We ate here while on a visit to Taos, and it was great as always, we have dined here on several occasions
The wait staff seemed indifferent to our presence. Most unfriendly. Food was mediocre. I ordered a gin and tonic which was unusual for their margarita heavy crowd. The tonic was flat and the drink had only a couple of ice cubes in it so it was too warm. It’s unfortunate that the food and service was so bad because the atmosphere is charming.
Amazing service with wonderfully local flair food in a beautifully fun historic building.
This is New Mexico. One expects green chile to taste like something other than cream of mushroom soup. This place is way overrated.
Have been coming here for years. Good food and mostly good service. On this occasion service was below average. I know times are hard and finding people to work is difficult but my waitperson was not at all interested in doing a good job; very inattentive.
Visiting from back East for the first time in many years. This place is as good as we remember it. Southwestern done well, with local ingredients. Steak is a specialty and the Chile crusted rib eye with fresh local Chanterelles was excellent. So were the blue corn cheese enchiladas. And the Green Chile Cheesecake Chimichangas were AMAZING. Had to sit on the front patio because the back was too sunny, so got a bit of traffic noise, but service was great and overall it was one of our top dining experiences in New Mexico.
Services was excellent
We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. The host or server never mentioned our Anniversary. All the other restaurants I reserved on open table were aware of the special occasion. We were seated next to the busy kitchen. The seats were very uncomfortable and we were next to the moldy smelling air conditioning vents. Not a great smell while eating. The food was rushed and just ok. I would never recommend to friends or our Airbnb host.
I guess this restaurant does not believe women should be unaccompanied when they are in public. I made a reservation for one. When I arrived, the hostess asked me how many would be at my table. "Just me." When the waitress arrived, she asked if anyone would be joining me. "No." When my Queso Fundido arrived, the waiter brought two plates, "for your companion." I ate half of my Queso Fundido and one of my tacos and then went to the bathroom and took my handbag. When I returned to my table, my food was gone. I left. I found this experience both upsetting and infuriating. As a lifelong feminist, I wonder, is it too much to expect the respect of people when I am an independent woman.
Very happy to have a reservation, though it may not have been necessary as we dined early. Our server was fantastic and helped make our dining experience top notch. We spent more on margaritas than we did on food, and the drinks were a great welcome experience to the Inn. We ordered light food and were very impressed.
Innovative New Mexican cuisine, well prepared.
Green chile cheesecake chimichangas. (That's one thing, not four)
Good place. Chili rellenos were great.
