We dined al fresco. The service was great, and the food better. We had perfectly cooked meals and will return as often as we can.
This was their first day open in a long time. Their service was very slow! The food was good but not outstanding.
I true Taos classic! The ambiance is saturated with history and charm. The food stays true to New Mexican roots with a modern flare. NO pretense...just authentically delicious.
An historic standard. Imaginative and delicious menu. Make a reservation! Doc Martins is always popular for special occasions for locals and a must go to for visitors.
Out of some menu items.
Great meal and service as usual. My enchiladas were terrific! We always enjoy the ambiance, food and margaritas. We’ll be back!
Valentine’s Day it was awesome!
Everythjng was amazing, from the food to the service!
Food was to die for. Atmosphere was electric. Fantastic restaurant
service, food and ambiance were wonderful. The food was lukewarm when served.
food and service amazing
bit of a stuffy "manager" ( i'm guessing?) asking us to move while we waited for the table . Needs a check.
We have always loved Doc Martin's and the menu changes since we were last there have only amped up our love of the place. Food is terrific and the service on a very busy night was excellent.
Hello CaroB, Thank you for the 5-Star rating! We are happy to read that you enjoy the new menu and service. We hope you get to return very soon. Sincerely, Joe Kendall General Manager Doc Martin's / Historic Taos Inn
Everything was great. The only problem we had was our server getting distracted with another table while we sat and wait to pay the bill.
We had a great experience. The hostess was cheerful and fun, setting the mood. The bartender was kind, funny and made some amazing margaritas...potentially the best I have ever had. And I lived in Mexico! Our waiter was great- he didn’t rush us, he was knowledgeable about the dishes, ingredients and a little history about the cuisine. The food was delicious- we started out with queso fundido, guacamole, and the chili relleno. All were delicious! Then we had a few soups- all very good. And had the chicken mole and the mushroom mole. Lastly, it’s located in a very charming hotel with a great lobby. Overall great time.
Dear Guest, Thank you for the 5-Star review and kind words. We look forward to you returning. Sincerely, Joe Kendall General Manager Doc Martin's / Historic Taos Inn
Service was poor. Dessert was very delayed . Server was kind of difficult when paying bill and messed it up big time

Went to Doc Martin's for New Year's Eve dinner. The woman who took the reservation did not notify us that the menu would be a set menu for the evening. So as a vegan, the only thing I could eat was a $10 dinner salad. Everything on the menu was easily twice the price we would normally pay. $24 for Enchiladas, $22 for a tiny mushroom mole. The service was not good either. The server never checked on us to see how we were doing. I've been there before in the past, and it was a good experience. So hoping it was just this particular night.

Awesome New Year’s Eve dinner. The ambiance and service was perfect. The chili rellenos were delicious and the dessert decadent! Was a perfect evening!

My family and I are a late lunch on New Year’s Eve and we were all pleased with our menu choices. When we’re back in Taos again, we definitely plan on a return visit for dinner!

We come here for the hands down best chili rellenos in nm.

Outstanding food, service and ambiance!
We went for Christmas dinner. We love Doc Martin’s and have been there many times. The food is amazing, but what seems to be a consistent problem is that is the food is not served hot enough. Very disappointing to receive a wonderful plate, take your first bite, and the food is tepid at best. Not an isolated problem, at least in our experience. If that could be fixed and the food served piping hot, it would definitely be a five star restaurant.
Had a great Christmas Eve dinner here. Staff was wonderful and the food great. Had the blue corn rellanos and they were the best I’ve had. Plenty of Gluten free options as well.
I just ordered a quick chipotle shrimp
dish which was just ok.
Doc Martin's dinner menu is outstanding, and cocktails are divine.
Had reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. It was clear that getting diners in and out as quickly as possible was the goal. They had tables put up in places not designed for them to accommodate the increased number of diners. Our table was smooshed in right up against another table in an area that is usually a walkway. The turkey dinner looked like it was served up by cafeteria ladies-a scoop of dry mashed potatoes, some even drier dressing, some pieces of chopped up dark meat, a small splash of gravy and a glob of cranberry sauce that looked and tasted suspiciously like Ocean Spray. The corn tasted like it was frozen. The hostess kept hovering to see if we were done yet. From the time we sat down to the time we left was twenty seven minutes. Due to crowded dining spaces and screaming kids, it was so noisy we could not have a conversation with each other but had no trouble hearing everyone else’s conversation. Very bad experience.
It was great. I had an amazing carne adovada and lava cake with my family. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Worst meal, ever. My chicken was way overcooked, totally dry, and inedible. The waitress never should have served it, and the chef should be ashamed of himself for sending out such an unacceptable entrée. When I complained, the waitress asked him to refund the total, but he refused and only discounted it by half. I gave her a 20% + tip, but I regretted it because she should have never brought out such a horrible meal to me. We have chosen Doc Martin’s many times over the last 30+ years, but we will never eat there again or recommend it to our many friends. The rest of the food was very mediocre, and the salad portions were way too small, and not tasty at all. The bad food ruined a very special occasion for our Daughter and me. It is very sad that Doc Martin’s has sunk so low to employ such a terrible chef.
Excellent food and excellent service. If you want real New Mexican food, this is the place.
Chili rellenos were fantastic.
Queso congealed quickly, server did not check back on drinks (missed selling more alcohol) and never offered more water/tea.
Would recommend the food but service would keep us away.
The green Chile cheeseburgers were excellent
Good food, really good wine list, not overly priced and great band ( The Rudy Project) playing in the bar. Perfect venue for Halloween.
This is true northern New Mexico cuisine, it is not tes-mex. They locally source their food which adds to the flavor and nutrient content is a bonus. They also have the best Margaritas in Taos. Highly recommend a meal at Doc Martin's
Hello JackieB, Thank you for coming in to enjoy dinner with us. It's great to see that you enjoyed and recommended us to others. Hope you get to return soon. Sincerely, Joe Kendall General Manager Doc Martin's / Historic Taos Inn
Delicious New Mexican cuisine. Service delightful. Very accommodating. Would eat there again.
I wanted to eat there to see the inside of a historic building. Read some reviews for the restaurant, thought it was worth a try. Went late, so it was not busy at all. The service was excellent. The food, overpriced. The drinks, overpriced. Had the chile rellenos. As a New Mexico native, I can say, they were just ok. I did enjoy the crunch of the blue corn batter. It was a nice date night, but probably a one time only occurrence.
Always a favorite, now has a new chef and updated menu. Everything was terrific.
First thing that impressed us was the service and great attitude of the hostess and our server. Then, we loved the food, especially the enchiladas and the cornbread.
This was, hands down, the best Chile Relleno I've ever had, so that's why I'm rating this lunch experience so high. I've eaten here many times, and the food has always been at least good, but this dish was spectacular. Good table service, as always, and fair prices. My wife had a Navajo taco, open rather than folded, and loaded with great ingredients. Just a great place for a lunch.
Bingo! Hit the mark - I did the Carne Asada and my bride of 36 years did the New Mexico Steak. Very good meal and service from Sarkis was knowledgeable and professional- highly recommend!
Disappointed! Food was blah and the place felt tired. Lovely decor and cool to be in an historic hotel, but just felt run-down.
