Doc Magilligan's Restaurant & Irish Pub
Food is always amazing but service is always subpar....little customer attention (asking for drink refils or trying to get the bill) and no server interactions...like talking to robots
We had a great meal and really enjoyed our visit.
We'll be back.
It was good but there is very limited gluten-free options. I would expect more from a restaurant in a tourism city.
We went here after reading excellent reviews. Having been to numerous Irish pubs around the world, this one, unfortunately, was sub par. Really wanted to like it, but service was slow and the food was dull. I had the fish and chips and it came out nearly burnt. The chips weren’t bad, but the fish could’ve been a bit better. As a matter of fact, each meal anyone at our table had wasn’t the best. And to top things off, paring is HORRIBLE! Do yourself a favor and try another restaurant. You’ll be glad you did.
I would recommend this restaurant for a reasonably priced family style meal. The food we had was hot, did not have to wait too long for it and enjoyed drinks while waiting. My only dissapointment was that the french fries were not as hot as they could have been but overall a good meal.
Fun night dining at Doc Muggiligan's Irish Pub. Was recommended by Airbnb owner. Made a reservation for 7:15 pm. Glad we did reserve. Told at the door there would be a 45 minute wait for a kitchen order. Decided to stay & watch the Blue Jays on tv while waited for dinner. Was not disappointed! Had the Fish Pie- shrimp, scallops, mashed potatoes covered in cheese with a garden salad. Was delicious. Husband had the Sheppard's Pie which was home style with side salad & said was very good. Husband had an Irish lager beer & myself drank water. Live band was coming on at 9:30 we were told but we left when they arrived as had a long day of driving.
Only negative was the very long wait for food to arrive, but we were warned Unsure why kitchen staff weren't prepared as was a Friday night, busy in most restaurants so thinking they would be prepared with extra help! Overall, great fun & would recommend & return when in Niagara Falls.
The food is always delicious and they also have a yummy kids menu for our young children (7 and 4).
We've been to several restaurants within the city and nothing compares to Doc Mcgilligans. We seem to always come back here, and will continue to do so.
Good food, relaxing atmosphere!
What a hidden gem! If you’d ask me if I’d eat at an Irish pub connected to a Best Western, I would have laughed. But I learned you can’t judge a bar by a cheap hotel chain. This place is adorable! The food is delicious (I had the corned beef melt and crisps), the beer is cold and the bar tenders are so friendly. Stop by if your in the falls area!!
Great atmosphere, wonderful Irish music playing throughout the pub and the food was fantastic. Our server, Shari, was friendly and made you feel welcome. We ordered the Chicken curry boxty, the Shepard’s Pie and the Bailey’s cheese cake. Each food item exceeded our expectations. We returned the next morning for breakfast. If you will be visiting the Niagara Falls area, stop at Doc Magilligan’s. It is great.
It is the first time we were there and it was so nice it will not be the last.
Good food, very good service! First time there, we'll go again in our next trip to Niagara!
Good food and service, when busy service is slow. Staff excellent! Would recommend!
We had an amazing adventure at your restaurant. It felt like we stepped right into Ireland it was so authentic. Thanks for the experience.
Always on the list when we visit Niagara Falls. Great menu, service and atmosphere. Live band on Saturdays is a bonus. You won't be disappointed and family friendly.
Great food, fun atmosphere!
Lovely pub, great service. I would recommend it to my friends.
Excellent food and service. Unfortunately the day we were their some parents were letting their children run amongst the tables and was very noisy.
Great service, great food, nice outside dining area
It was pretty slow in there so I'm not quite sure why we had to wait at the host stand while 2 employees walked by us & didn't even say a word, not even a "we'll be right with you." Nothing. Ok, whatever. We get seated & server walks away without saying a word. I thought servers are supposed to be personable & friendly? She takes our order & asks us where we're from, when we said 5min across the border her response was "Well this is the better side". In my opinion, that was very rude & unprofessional.. This was my son's first time visiting Canada, & it was my boyfriends bday, thought I'd take them out for a nice brunch- not out to be insulted. And to top off our experience, the crab cake eggs benny is made with frozen crab cakes. Didn't look very appealing, & was very bland..
Next time I bring my family out to spend the day in Canada, (you know- "the better side" - *eye roll*), we won't be dining here.
Hi There, I wanted to reach out to you personally to apologize for your recent experience with us. I assure you this is not how we operate and I am truly embarrassed. I would very much like to know who waited on your table so that I can course correct here. If you would be willing to give us another try, I would love to offer you a $50.00 dining credit for your next visit. I am looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you, Paul C. Just basic...nothing special about this dining experience. We started with Ruben bites and then fish and chips. Very little taste to either dish. The best part was the Ceasar. At least it had flavor.
Very nice ambiance - authentically Irish. I had the Irish Sampler meal: beef and
mushroom pie, shepherd"s pie and a curry dish - all were good but none were great. Wife had fish and chips which she also said was good but not great
Service and food have always been great. The drink menu is also quite large and resonably priced. I you want great comfort food and large portions, this is the place for you
A bit on the noisy side, but I tend to be sensitive to that so may not bother most people. Beer was perfect temperature as was the food. Nice fare with traditional Irish selections. Easy to find even if you don't know the area. Better value than the restaurants closer to the falls. All very good. Would definitely return.
Fantastic place! Some friends of ours were here from Australia, and I didn't know what place to choose for lunch since we're from NY. I read the reviews and menu, and chose it. It turned out to be a great decision. Thank you, Open Table!
Very poor service that was very slow. Almost got up and walked out, and we never do that
I would recommend for the food they have the best potato skins!!! Rosemary bread was great as well as fish and chips. The ribs we may have gotten on an off night they were very fatty. The server we had was awful, not friendly took 10 minutes to bring straws, never once came over and asked how our meal is or if we needed anything, waited 15 minutes for the refills we asked for.
JM
Food and ambiance was great, along with the service. There was a baclorette party of 14 girls in there that were very loud and they should of been seated in the back of reastaurant. We were asked if we wanted to sit by the band we said no, by the time we were done our dinner that’s when the band started that’s where those girls should of sat.
Love this place
Had a lovely time. Great atmosphere and people (not just the servers) were so nice.
Good portions and amazing food. Was a little skeptical on arrival based on the restaurant being attached to a mid-level hotel, but the decor and ambiance inside erased that quickly.
Ordered the boxty fries out of curiosity, and they ended up being the highlight of the dinner.
Sadly the lil one started fading before the live band started up.
Overall great and worth the trip away from the touristy area.
Everything was amazing I couldn’t be happier with the whole experience and would highly recommended Doc’s to anyone
We enjoyed our St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Doc’s. Great food & service. It was loud but that’s expected on St.Paddy’s Day.
It was advertised as a
st. Patrick's weekend very disappointing had grandchildren with us to see the dancing told us there was no tables available explain that reservations were made and we wanted to sit by the show for the kids they couldn't care less no special menu to celebrate even though they had advertised this waitress was nice but the rest of staff very rude would not recommend this place
WE WENT TO SEE THE BAND PLAY ON sATURDAY NIGHT AND HAD DINNER BEFORE THE SHOW . tHE FOOD WAS GOOD AND THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY
We made a reservation well in advance and when we arrived there were multiple tables available. We were placed by the front door and felt the cold air every time someone walked in. These patrons waited a short time with NO reservations and escorted to several available tables where they could enjoy the ambiance. Unfortunately we had none. When we asked to be moved so we could enjoy our meals we were told there was no where else. Long after we were done with our meals... tables were still available.
Reservations for patrons traveling a couple hours to enjoy a great meal should have been prioritized.
The food was excellent and well worth the drive. Just disappointed in how we were treated.

Fantastic food...big portion size...great service. Will definately be a returning customer.
Good food with live music afterwards! A great night out with family!
Great food and drink selection
