Thanks For such a wonderful meal and service, our server was also the bartender — I think he told me his name was Anthony. He was wonderful, entertaining, paid extra attention to detail, mixed my best margarita yet, from any local bar. So for those of you who might be coming with your husband and you are not a whiskey drinker or a bourbon drinker, he can make a mean margarita or substitute any liquor of your choice and his cocktails.
I particularly recommend the pulled pork sandwich or entrée, the sweet potato fries are excellent, and so is their pimento beer cheese and Doc Crows homemade potato chips appetizer!!
I’m sad they have deleted so much from their menu. I miss the homemade spicy bbq sauce.
I’ll try it again after COVID and hope they get back to amazing. For now, just goid
Thank you for great service and food!
The quality of food at Doc Crow’s has gone waaaaay downhill. We heard they have been under new ownership, but my husband and I definitely did not expect such a decline in the quality of food and service. We would have stayed for more drinks after dinner, but the service was subpar and the food not nearly as good as we are used to, so we did not want to give them any more of our money. Went next door to O’Sheas for another round of cocktails and honestly regret not going there for the whole dinner experience.
Sadly we will probably not return to what was once a great restaurant, and unfortunately do not see them being open much longer.
Great food, very professional and clean restaurant
Open Table and Doc Crows accepted a reservation for New Years Eve. Imagine our disappointment when we showed up for our NYE dinner only to find the restaurant closed. What a terrible start to a New Years Eve. Save your time and money and do not use Open Table or go to Doc Crow's. Go across the street to Merle's Whiskey Kitchen!
Love doc crows such a cute and unique place to dine!
TOOK OUR RESERVATION INFO.WHEN WE ARRIVED FOR NEW YEARS EVE DINNER THE FACILITY WAS CLOSED ...DID NOT EVEN HAVE A SIGN ON THE DOOR....NOTHING
BY THIS TIME, WE WERE TO LATE TO GET A TABLE ANYWHERE ELSE AND TO TOP IT OFF, IT WAS OUR ANNIVERSARY AS WELL.....
At least close down reservation accesss
TERRIBLE.... NOT RECOMMEND
Doc Crows is currently closed due to all of Louisville’s mandates on restaurants. We did not find this out until we arrived for our reservations on New Years Eve. Open Table needs to remove them for now until they open back up because we were left with nowhere to eat on New Years because Open Table is still taking reservations for them. Uncool.
Never a disappointment!!!
Great dinner and drinks
The drinks were great but the food was amazing! My husband said “‘This is the best brisket I think I’ve ever had.” Service was perfect. It really surpassed our expectations and the bourbon selection was huge.
Excellent place to eat and drink. Would highly recommend anytime you are in Louisville, KY!
The four of us each had the smokehouse sampler & it was good - about $25 each. No complaints about the food. I know it’s the Covid panic but the hostesses were short with anyone they didn’t think to have their mask pulled high enough up. Also took our temperature. The waiter lacked friendliness & didn’t converse but did his job.
Good BBQ; We got the Fried Okra and the portion was huge and good.
Excellent service, given their limited capacity. Menu was exactly as posted on their website. I would certainly encourage people to visit their dine in.
Great food but the waiters were not attentive. With it being limited capacity, I expected better service
Great Father’s Day dinner! Everything was delicious and the service was great.
Celebrated Father’s Day with my family. The food and spirits were good. A nice place to relax and enjoy your family. Would visit again.
This was our first time eating out since March 10th! We chose Doc's because we love the oyster po boys and they did not disappoint! Great service and the staff were mindful of social distancing took great care to minimize the risk of exposure. One of our favorite places!
Jordan is excellent. Very good bourbon selection and he is knowledgeable.
Great food and a spectacular selection of great Bourbon.
First time there! My wife and I were celebrating my prompt and it was great. The menu is very versatile it we had the family special #2 was awesome! Lots of food for a small $42. We had enough for leftovers and to feed the girls! No complaints we will be back to explore the menu!
Wonderful in every aspect.
It was GREAT. The food is amazing, the service is top notch. Highly recommend
Good but not great.
Tasty food and quick service!
We went because it was highly recommended online. We were happy with the food quality and the service but the portion size was disappointing. My husband and I eat very little so we don’t expect much. Paying $5.00 for a side of spinach with our $16.00 half rack of ribs - we expected more than just a few bites of sautéed spinach. Additionally, the stuffed potato with pork on top was quite skimpy for a full meal menu option (very little pork). We shared the three items but were disappointed in the portions for the price. Fine/Nicer dining venues are usually more generous than our experience here. We would encourage the restaurant to take a look at their portions for these things and be a bit more generous. Otherwise everything was fine.
The best Po’Boy you will have outside of New Orleans hands down. The bread is genuinely French bread from New Orleans with flaky bite on the outside and chewy inside. I had the fried shrimp Po’Boy and the shrimp were perfectly prepared.
Food is great- service is a little slow- wish parking was better...
Stopped in for lunch after a tour of the Old Forester distillery. Surprisingly uncrowded for a Saturday lunch window. I had the Docs Chicken which was excellently cooked and seasoned. This is my go to menu item when I dine at Doc Crows. My dining companion had the Classic Burger which was perfectly cooked. We split a side item; the grits. They were delicious, as usual. Would recommend Doc Crows to any diner.
Fried oysters were excellent. Oysters Rockefeller were very good. Heap’n Chips were excellent. Pulled pork sandwich was just okay. BBQ chicken was excellent. Service was average.
Great food, great atmosphere, great staff! Definitely will be going again.
We enjoyed it. The food was good and staff was very hospitable.
We enjoyed a great meal after a basketball game . Our reservations were at 5:30 and they were able to take us promptly . The food was hot , well presented , and lived up to everything we could have asked for . Our server Christine ( Sorry if it is Christina ) was outstanding , as was all of the staff . Definitely a do again .
The service was good. Food was sub par and over priced. The ribs weren’t good at all. The brisket was sub par. The pulled pork was average. The best thing was the heap of chips but had VERY little brisket on them. The cheapest part of the meal, the grits, were the best part.
Great oysters, pulled pork and tacos! It can get quite loud.
Service was terrible
Blacked catfish was awesome. Green beans too salty. And oysters Rockefeller was average.
Overall we had a good experience. The server or the bar one were very slow. My fried ordered a second drink and it was at least 15 minutes for a bourbon on the rocks. The server was nowhere in sight to remind. The food is always good but a couple of missteps, I ordered my salmon blackened on my salad, did not come that way even though it was very good. My friend asked if they had a barbecue sauce that wasn't hot and we received a very curt no. They were not busy so it was unusual for the slow service. Never the less we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
