Doc Crow's Southern Smokehouse & Raw Bar

I wasn't really "wowed" by the place. Decent food. Nothing that just blew me away. We ordered the "mild" wings as an app and they came out blazing hot. Our lips were burning. Grilled Chicken sandwhich didn't have much flavor. Chips were kind of eh. My husband had brisket sandwhich which was good. I wouldn't make special trip downtown for food there.
Always a great time, visitors in from out of town also got to partake
Good food and service. Truly southern cuisine.
It was just OK. Doc Crow's was recommended to us for barbecue. For me, it was just average. My dining partner and I shared their sampler dinner that contained pulled pork, brisket, and 1/2 rack of ribs. The pork was very good. I didn't have much of the brisket, and the ribs were dry. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about bourbon, which my dinner partner enjoyed. However, service was very slow, and water and after-dinner coffee refills we not offered. Given the number of restaurants in the area, I would probably not return. It wasn't awful, just average.
I do not feel the food was that great. We were seated at the back and there was a party of apx 17 men and 1 women and they were very loud and then the F bomb was let flying, and there were family's seated back there and no one seemed to want to do anything about it.
Service was very good and fast. Food was also good; pulled pork very good but beef brisket was a little dry. Cheesy grits and fried okra were delicious.
Always great food. Little pricey for lunch. We had a party of 8.
The service was extremely slow and we were there before it was busy. The brisket was the fattiest I’ve ever had and dry. My colleague felt the same way. Apps were good. Overall, we were disappointed and underwhelmed.
Everything about the evening went well! Our server was exceptional - knowledgeable and helpful with food suggestions. The drinks were great and our meals exceptional. Shrimp and Gris creole! Mercy!! And the oyster apps and mussels - the same. It was one really good experience!
We were seated quickly, and our server greeted us quickly as well. Our food was great, and the server was awesome.
I ordered the sampler. The pulled pork was horrible and mostly fat. The brisket and ribs were just Ok.
There were six people in our party and everyone enjoyed their main entrée, whether it was smoked ribs, brisket, raw oysters or fried oysters. The food and service was fantastic. Great beers on tap as well.
We had a great Mother’s Day lunch. Our server Jessica was an excellent our food was yummy and the manager Bradley is my fav❣️
We arrived on-time for our reservations. And was seated promptly. We had a great server and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. We were a bit disappointed because we were expecting a "Mother's Day Brunch Menu" and it was their standard menu. We asked if there was any brunch specials and there was not. Would we come back....definitely yes, but it will not be for a special occasion or brunch.
Good service and food!
We must have caught them on an off night. Server was far less than enthusiastic. Tables looked as if they had been wiped with a wet rag and left to dry. Hot chicken was pretty greasy. I spilled a drink for the first time in about 25 years and was charged for a replacement. All drinks took quite a while to be delivered. Feels as if the entire operation is running on auto pilot...they should try to remember how they got to where they are. Probably will not return.
Excellent food - great location and prices. Recommend getting reservations.
Took my parent’s here for their Anniversary as they were in town visiting and never been to Doc Crow’s. They loved it! Def a favorite restaurant of mine.
Our waitress was not friendly at all, but her service was good. The food was delicious! Shrimp and Grits are so good and the Derby Pie is one of the best!
Good food, service, and drinks. Enjoyed very much!
I read good reviews about Doc Crow’s but I was completely unimpressed. Granted I was there on Easter Sunday. But the food was basically average for that style. The pulled pork and brisket were ok. Not particularly flavorful. They are smoked in a dry rub and you would need to add your own sauce, which is given in an unlabeled squeeze bottle on the side without any fanfare. If they think much about about the sauce or expect you to add it you wouldn’t know it and if they are relying on the flavor of the meat alone to dazzle then that is a mistake. The sauce was actually good and necessary because the meat was dry. Frankly, they smoked the life out of the meat until it was tender but overdone. The baby back ribs were dry to starting to feel powdery in the mouth. I don’t want to criticize the indifferent staff too much. They were doing their job and I’ll attribute the lack of energy to the holiday drag.
Went for lunch , good service and good food , extensive beer and bourbon selections although the bourbon is overpriced. I understand the rareness of some of their bourbons but a twenty dollar 2oz pour out of a bottle that retails for just over 60 is a bit much. I passed and enjoyed the rest.
Group of 12 (businesses venue)...staff did an AWESOME job meeting our service needs. In addition...the food was awesome!! Great job!!
Very nice place- would recommend if on ‘the bourbon trail’!
Delicious Brisket. Heap N Chips were awesome! Realize that salads aren’t why you come here but a little disappointing House Salad. Our waitress wasn’t overly friendly even though it wasn’t too busy.
Not nearly as good as the last time we were there. Service was slow and the food was just alright. We were all disappointed
Good lunch spot, busy.little short on the pork on the pulled pork sandwich.our friend loved the chocolate chip cookies.
Service and food was wonderful. Moderate pricing. I enjoyed everything.
Waitress ruined the lunch for us. Drinks were slow to be refilled. Upon receiving our food,my soup arrived with no spoon and my husband’s fries were lukewarm at best. Asked our waitress for a spoon and new fries. She said yes and then proceeded to take 2 other tables orders prior to managing our request. She was inattentive and showed no appreciation for our visit.
Dined on a Sunday evening. Food, drinks and atmosphere were superb! Highly recommend.
Loved this place! The service could have been better, but the layout of the restaurant is very long so I'm thinking our server had to travel far distances to reach us at the back of the restaurant by the windows. The food was phenomenal, I would recommend everyone to try the shrimp and grits!
Took a while to be seated with a reservation. All staff spoke very softly very
Went here for lunch on the last day of our conference. Ended up eating here again for dinner. Service was great, our waiter was super friendly and helpful. Excellent selection of Bourbon, Rye, and Whiskey. Now only if they had something similar back home...
Fantastic Food and beverage!! Nice portions... always a great time!!
Brisket, baby back ribs and hush puppies were all extremely dry and bland.
I've been to Doc Crow's several times. It has always been great. This time I ordered the brisket tacos, and the brisket was all fat. The waitress took my food back and replaced it with pulled pork. Before I could eat the tacos, I had to pull the fat out of my pulled pork. I was very disappointed in my meal. The waitress came back and asked how the food was, I know she had to see the fat on the side of the plate, it was piled up, but I just said it was fine.
My granddaughter and I shared the bread pudding and it was wonderful. She had never had it before, and was glad she tried it.
Had the BEST time! Perfect service with amazing food.... and a wonderful view. Thank you!
Food and service was great. I took 7 teenagers and we all had a blast and I got change back from my dollar (excellent value).
