Doc B's Restaurant + Bar - Tampa
The place is pretty and has some good looking food on the menu. Service was good nothing exceptional but nothing negative to say. I ordered a salad, essentially a crispy chicken breast which was cooked perfectly and very tasty and a salad that was already dressed and tossed/ chopped perfectly. After eating about 2/3 the salad I kept having this weird gritty taste in my mouth. I hoped it was maybe sugar granular bits from the vinaigrette but I think it was sand/dirt on the lettuce that hadn’t been washed well enough. If not for that the salad would have been really great.
I am not waiting to get the email from OT to write this. This has got to be on e of the WORST dining experiences we have had using OT. This place is a typical Corporate Chain dining establishment run by INCOMPETENT, INEXPERIENCED TODDLERS! Our server could not have made it more obvious she wanted to turn the table in 17 seconds. She missed it when I ordered a bottle of wine and rushed out to get 2 glasses. I had to talk to the hostess to let her know of the mistake and they ran off to get our server to let her know. Another thing that infuriates me about these corporate chain restaurants: 2 seconds into the meal they come around asking: HOW'S EVERYTHING TASTING SO FAR? Talk about ridiculous! It is as if they are afraid of their offering. The food was ok, not spectacular. The value for the price paid was VERY POOR. These corporate managers need to realize that either they put competent people to run these establishments or just don't eve n open them. This is on place we will NEVER go back to, and neither to whichever are the sister restaurants. We wasted our money here!
Super loud restaurant. Good food but not good for conversations
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Doc B's for a mixed work / social dinner with out of town friends. The Hot Chicken has great spice and was really tasty-- I enjoyed it with the slaw but they offer changing for the broccoli which my friend had and was a really excellent presentation & taste also. One super-important thing for my family is the allergy-friendly nature of the kitchen and staff. I highly recommend Doc B's if you struggle with allergies (dairy in my family's case) as the staff takes it very seriously, knows the ingredients in the food, and double-checks with the kitchen crew as the food is prepared. The kitchen also can adapt recipes and they are very positive about the entire experience, as opposed to a lot of restaurants where they roll their eyes if you mention an allergy. We really appreciated the ambiance, staff, and great food and will absolutely be back for more.
I had the fish tacos. I asked the brand new waitress (1st day) and she said they were saucer sized tortillas. I was specific in my question. Though they were tasty, these were 3 very small tacos for $16. Overpriced and undersized. I will not go back.
Doc B’s is always a great destination to bring out-of-town friends to. The food is always very tasty, the environment is pleasing, service exceeds expectation, and the drinks are amazing. The money is definitely worth the experience and the service.
Terrific service provided by host staff and servers. Terrific menu selection and all enjoyed their entrees. Good selection of beer, wine and spirits. Only one comment about the food. Sweet potato fries should have been cooked longer to make them more crispy. Otherwise it was a terrific experience.
First experience at Doc B’s... exceptional service, delicious food and a good vibe.
One stop shopping...great food, awesome drinks, prompt service!
Great service and food. We sat outside and got to people watch while we ate.
Wings are still the best in the East!!
Shrimp tacos & broccoli were wonderful
Quite loud. Could hardly hear soft spoken server. Our server didn't seems to know the menu very well (spec. the quinoa salad) and said it was one of her favorites, to end the conversation, instead of giving correct info. Tried to take food away too early and then changed the bill after showing me one (she had left something off the original bill). New total was correct, but 1) forgot item and 2) didn't tell me when new bill came. Food was very good though.
Great time service! Food was awesome loved the chicken wings one of the best I ever had .
I loved the recent lunch I had at Doc B's. A friend and I shared the beet, heirloom tomato, and burrata starter and the California salad. Both were delicious. We agreed that the California salad is one of the best entree salads either of us has had. The mix of kale, sweet potatoes, and pistachios tossed with the roasted garlic dressing was just the perfect combination. We were very comfortable in our booth and the waitress was wonderful about checking back in, refilling water, etc. I look forward to going again!
We were in Tampa for an anniversary weekend and a concert. We wanted to try a different place and chose Doc B's based on reviews. We enjoyed the diner with a caveat.
While we enjoyed the food for the most part, the atmosphere was very causal and seemed to be more like a sports bar with TVs everywhere and the bar in the center of the restaurant with the two dining areas on the sides of the bar. Also, the wait staff was very young and seemed more like a TGIF than an a more upscale restaurant (as the prices would seem to indicate).
The food was pretty good. We had the grilled artichoke and I enjoyed but my wife didn't. I had the Wok Bowl with shrimp with shrimp, spicy Thai, and sticky brown rice and I enjoyed. My wife got the soup of the day (spicy tomato/lentil) and she said was okay. She had the taco trio and enjoyed it.
It was not bad but just a little too casual for the price.
First time, food was outstanding, multiple servers, chic but casual ambiance, enjoyed the overall quality very much
The California kale salad so fresh and cut to small pieces so you get the flavors of all the ingredients. Fresh guacamole also delicious. Nice wine list!
Other than Capital Grille, the best restaurant at the mall. Stephen is a great manager and the food and service awesome.
Wanted to try this place due to the 1000pt. Reservation and my girlfriend saying this place was good. Place was very slow for a Sunday night. Sat immediately.
Food was good. Burger and fries had good taste and cooked well. My girlfriend’s chicken sandwich was good as well. The service however was terrible. Very inattentive and lackluster. We sat for almost an hour after dinner waiting for dessert menu and check. Very slow on refills and no one came around and asked how things were.
There was also a big mix up on the check as well. My card was charged $10 more dollars than my actual bill was because we were told that dessert was going to be comped due to being ignored. When they ran the card they added the dessert to it. Finally had to get the manager to straighten things up. She was very nice and forgiving. My whole meal ended up being taken care of which was a surprise.
The food was nicely presented and flavorful. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. Overall, the experience was merely average given the price that was charged. I would assign it as an average & acceptable experience, that would have been enhanced with better service. Suboptimal Value!!
As always, the food and drinks were consistently good. We had an assortment of dinners and sandwiches and all were delicious. The sweet potato chips topped it off.
Pretty standard fare. Prices high for product but are representative for this restaurant row adjacent to International Mall. Certainly any traveler staying in the Tampa Int'l Airport area could come to this area and find average to above average food in a variety of cuisines in a vibrant area. Not a place for a quiet dinner.
Food and service was great as always. The knife and fork cobb salad and the steak sandwich are just impeccable. And the beet cocktail is beyond. So worth it. We love this place.
Consistently amazing food and craft cocktails. Stephen is always meeting the crowd and it shows.
Great service. Amazing food! Great date night spot.
Server took our order quickly. Food was delivered quickly by someone not our server, who seemed to disappear. The burgers ordered medium rare was “well done”. My wife’s sweet potato fries were burnt. Server was nowhere to be seen so we flagged down another server. By the time the new sweet potatoes arrived, also burnt, my wife had finished her burger. Server did not reappear till we were nearly done. Manager did take my wife’s meal off bill without being asked. That was the saving grace. But I see no reason to return to this restaurant.
Wings are outstanding
Tacos & Bowls were excellent & filling
Service was some of the best I have had
Luckily the restaurant was not overly busy because the couple we were meeting were late from the airport. Staff very gracious in allowing just the two us us the table as we waited. (We did order drinks). Server was pleasant though could have been quicker on drink refills. Food came out nice and hot. Gene loved his “bowl”. Wish the water had ice. Overall nice, easy and a good experience.
Food was not what we expected. Place was terribly loud could not hear one another, a bunch of waitresses hanging around cashier with nothing to do.
Great variety of items! Brussels sprout salad with filet was awesome! Atmosphere nice, booths, bar area and patio seating!
Food was delicious but took forever to get to table. My dinner never made it - Restaurant was not busy and it was Mothers Day. Waitress had a laundry list of excuses.
Everything was delicious & the service was great! Great Mother's Day dinner!
Consistently some of the best service in Tampa
Excellent service and great food
Food & service was fantastic. Definitely recommend!
