Dobutsu, (pronounced doe-boot-sue) is a new casual pacific fare restaurant in the beautiful 500 Seneca building in downtown Buffalo, NY. Dobutsu specializes in the cuisine of the American and Asian Pacific region, highlighted by globally sourced fresh seafood and shellfish programs, traditional noodle dishes, Hawaiian poke and rice bowls, fresh coastal produce salads and vegetable preparations, and a vast amount of street food interpretation small plates.

Our beverage program supports our identity with a library of whiskey and light spirits from around the world. Scratch classic and original cocktails are presented with the technique, precision, balance and humility we are known for at our sister restaurant, Toutant. Draft and packaged beer offerings focus on local and craft examples of quality. An impeccably curated wine program including global old world and new world selections, with focus on cuisine specific pairings, is implemented with education by our own Certified Sommelier.

If you're looking for a casual yet upscale dining experience with excellent service, food and drinks, this is your place. The atmosphere is perfect setted inside an old factory turned into lofts and businesses. Ample free parking, right off 190, easy in and out. A great place to take someone from out of town to show how much Buffalo has progressed.

This is the second time I dined there, and honestly, I think the first time when it first opened, was better. This time around, our drinks took forever. Our oysters were ok and had a bitter aftertaste almost like it wasn’t as fresh. Our tenderloin tips were really ordinary. The grilled peppers were bland, and the only saving grace, is the main course. I had the snapper and that was the best meal of the night. It was cooked perfectly.

We did the $80pp tasting menu, worth it. Trying different surprise menu items was exciting. Drink selection is great. Service also wonderful.

The restaurant is very welcoming. We started with drinks at the bar (great Happy Hour specials!) and the bartenders were very attentive and nice. Our waiter was great - he even made suggestions of things to add to our dishes. The food tasted very good and very fresh. The service was excellent! The prices were reasonable. I highly recommend it!

There was great service and the staff was very nice and knowledgeable with helping me and my date decide what to get. The food was delicious and definitely made the whole experience better.

This was the second time I have dined here. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was prepared well and of high quality. Coconut shrimp, blistered peppers and lobster roll were outstanding.
