DÔA Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
Honestly the service wasn't great, no one ever checked on us. The food was fine but a similar menu to so many other places in Miami. Also the sushi came in 5 pieces and it made it unsatisfying to share with others even though it's supposed to be small plates and tapas. I wouldn't go back
The service was perfect and the food was very tasty! I was suprised to see this restaurant practically empty as it was packed the last time, but then realized why. Right at 10pm the music sounded like a club and our conversation Immediately came to a halt. We asked tonhave the music turned down and the staff aaid the DJ wont turn it down. This was shocking and disturbing We paid the Check and left and will never return.
DOA is a great spot! So happy to have tried it. We loved the design of the restaurant with the open kitchen and also the DJ was really good. We enjoyed the food, the service was impeccable. The restaurant had a great vibe with very tasty fusion food and we would definitely return and would actually consider this one of our favorite restaurants in south beach now.
The parking was right next door (valet)
DoA was a pleasant surprise - I am local so we went for their Spice menu (check online for days AND times it is offered).
The offering for appetizer and main was quite broad and so we picked and shared... there was a wine- or cocktail pairing... we chose the latter and I have to tell you they were aboslutely the right thing to do as they were delicious... Highly recommended!
They are a fusion-place of Peruvian/Japanese/Chinese, and their Spice menu focuses on blending several different ones of them in mutli-week increments - so their menu changes every few weeks!
Their noodle bowl and fish/sushi or pork dish were outstanding... desserts were very good too!
Bottomline it is a great food experience, and there was a DJ spinning live music too - where we set it was a little too loud, so pick your table carefuly!
Very nice surprise and I will DEFINITELY be back!.
This restaurant has no parking or valet parking service which forces you to pray to the Gods that you'll find a spot on the streets around it or pay the $30-$70 for parking next door. They charge you EXTRA if you have a luxury vehicle and you have to park it yourself. Essentially you pay $50 to learn to park. The food is burning hot and most of the menu is spicy. The staff does not refill your water or walk around to make sure you're okay. The menu lacks variety and is pretty basic. I could get these foods anywhere. The music is unbearable and painfully loud. We couldn't hear each other speak. Not worth the drive or the reservation hassle.
I'm a chef myself and let me tell you guys something the best Asian food I had so far in my life chef Carlos thanks man your on a roll the service was wonderful I felt so comfortable DOA is the spot
This was our 3rd visit to DOA and we always enjoy their food- the menu items are tasty and presented in a very delectable way. The servers are awesome and very attentive. We have had something different every time we have been there. The drink at the bar before dinner was very creative and delicious. I can't wait until the next time we go there to eat!
Food was surprisingly good. Service was above average. Table was too small for too many small plates arriving at the same time. Servers didn't know which plates went to which tables. Wine is pricey. They encourage many plates per person. But it's tasty and small (hamachi tuna has two small pieces only!). But it is delicious overall!
Worst service I have ever experienced at a high end restaurant.
1. We showed up at 9:30 for a 9:30 reservation (5 people), and the hostess didn't say hello or look at us for over 5 minutes. Then she proceeds to tell me that she's busy because she needs to get situated to sit a party of 9. She forgets about us for another 10 minutes. Comes back, asks again what my reservation was for and says, hold on let me figure it out... leaves for another 2 minutes. FINALLY we get seated. Mind you, the hostess acted like she was doing us a favor for finally seating us after 9:45 for our 9:30 reservation.
-Also, while we were waiting, another guest asked to see management because he had been sitting at his table for over 10 minutes without anyone coming to greet him.
2. Were seated in a corner directly under a speaker with music so loud you couldn't hear the person next to you speak. Mind you, we've spent the entire weekend in Miami at pool parties and clubs, so sound does not bother me, but the waiter could not even hear us to take our order.
3. The server spilled on me while pouring a glass of wine from a warm bottle of rose that we purchased. I had to ask for ice cubes, which came 5 minutes later. He also spilled water on our table. Normally, I wouldn't complain about either of these things, but I was already so peeved by the service and attitude of our hostess that it just added to the list.
4. Waiting for our server to order food was another long wait of who knows how long. We finally place our order, another long wait for the food to come out. A different man brings out our food. All 5 of our orders were combined into 2 plates and he just dropped them off at our table. As he was walking away I had to ask him for someone to please come back to our table to explain to us whose order was whose. That took another 5-10 minutes.
The sushi was seriously incredible but it was a 2.5 hour dining experience for something that should have taken an hour. Would not be back.
Very disappointing. Very small portions at high prices. Food was good but nothing exceptional. Have had better sushi and rolls at several local places. Service below average- had to ask for water refill several times, food was brought out without new plates, waiter disappeared after appetizers and had to be called back to take entree order. Physically a nice place with good background music but left hungry. Won't be going back or recommending this place to friends.
