Not great. service was kind of poor (messed up our order/wouldn’t offer a real apology, snappy), and didn’t appreciate having to pay standard 20% tip for poor service

A perennial favorite. Food is always SO good. It’s lovely that a restaurant this good and busy isn’t absurdly loud. Great for larger groups too. Love love love.

Everything was great! The restaurant just opened for dinner so they weren’t busy. The service was great! Our food was prepared quickly and tasted delicious! I’ve eaten here before when it has been busier and the service was great then also! I’ve never been disappointed here!

I really enjoyed my dining experience at Do Hwa. I've been before and eaten and drank at the bar but this time I had a sit-down dinner with a group of people to celebrate mine and my mother's birthday. It was a fantastic experience and the food was delicious. I really liked that there was an option to have a grill table or not (we opted for a grill!). If you don't want to cook your own food you can order off the menu. My family did both and both were amazing. The meat is quality, as are their other dishes. The service was amazing, everyone we encountered was so courteous and helpful. The staff really made the night wonderful and I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves good drinks and KBBQ!

As a family, we have been to a number of Korean barbecue restaurants in Manhattan. This one has a terrific atmosphere, and the food was immensely flavorful. The staff was knowledgeable about the food, made excellent suggestions and were attentive to exactly the right degree. Highly recommend this restaurant as authentic food wise with a delightful atmosphere.

Read reviews. Was nearby. Wanted to compare Korean to restaurant in Montclair, NJ. Should have stayed home. Tasteless. Noisy. Nonchalant service.

Our server was friendly and helpful to the mostly neophyte eaters of Korean food. A great experience and would go back again.

Delicious food, nice cocktails but a bit loud. Booths were cushioned a bit oddly - loose cushions. Nice to have a booth though. We did get kicked out of our table for another group after about a couple of hours.

This is one of my neighborhood staples. I'm sad to hear it may be going away. If you have the chance to go, GO NOW. The food is fantastic and the overall experience is always great.

We had Korean BBQ and the food was fine but we could not believe how little you get while paying a lot. It tasted good but it's a total ripoff!!!

We loved this place! Several friends of mine from childhood (who are now located all across the country) met up with me here in NYC and we tried this place out. We all loved the food! I'm a vegetarian, so naturally I am a tricky one to please, but the cuisine was good for all diet types. It's not the most authentic I've ever had in my life, but the dishes were traditional with twists here and there that kept the integrity of the native cuisine. Dark, nice ambience... good location, albeit a bit tricky to find.

Perhaps it's considered a sign of a happening place, but the decibel level made conversation very difficult (unless one prefers to shout) and the dark lighting makes seeing the food (or each other) a challenge.

Way too loud in the restaurant, the food is great and I hope it was just bad luck on my timing but the crowds at the restaurant were overserved and obnoxiously loud

Love Do Hwa- the food, the service, location. The grill table is our favorite as well as the "bibimbop". Everything is fresh and well presented. Worth a visit.

We visited Do Hwa to celebrate my Fiancé’s birthday and were a group of 9. The staff was very friendly and actually a lot of fun. They unexpectedly gave us two bottles of Soju for celebratory shots on the house, this coupled with the amazing food and witty banter instantly made this a place we all loved and will definitely return to. The hostess Dania was especially AWESOME- Thank you for making it such an great experience- we’ll be back soon!

Very Nice place. A great bargain with reasonably priced and delicious food. Came here with a group of 6 friends celebrating a birthday. The mixed drinks were very good. The food was also delicious especially the spicy Squid. Would definitely return when in mood for Korean food.

Not a good experience at Do Hwa. We had a reservation for 11 people. Everyone was there about 5 minutes before reservation time, told they were “getting the table ready”. Ok, we wait at the small bar and get some drinks. 20 minutes later, I ask again. Still “getting the table ready.” Mind you, there are probably 25% of the tables in the restaurant open and our whole party is there. We ended up being seated 35 minutes after our reservation for no reason. Should have known from that point service would be horrible. After finally taking our orders, our food came out fairly quick and was really quite good. Lots of complex flavors and good options. But at our side of the table, we ordered the dinner for 4 and only received 2 of the 4 ordered plates. Waiter NEVER came back after taking our order. Literally, just disappeared. Bussers brought the food out and that’s all we saw. No more asking for more drinks or anything. When we were finally just ready to get out of there, we asked FOUR different people to bring our check. Finally got up and went to the bar and asked there and someone brought it by.

It’s too bad this place is staffed by a bunch of horrible servers and hostesses because the kitchen obviously knows what they are doing. Would not go back and wouldn’t recommend.
