Friendly and attentive service.
Yech! Overly fried rice with some crap thrown on top and all that for $22. It most likely cost them pennies to pay for that dish.
Great cocktails and food- have been here multiple times and it never disappoints
Really delicious Korean food - best I've had in a long time. Cool atmosphere with friendly, prompt service. this place is a gem. Portions could be a little bigger for the price, though.
great service! delicious barbecue- best i've had outside of k-town
As always, dinner at this fantastic Korean spot (with a full liquor menu) was great. Terrific date place.
Food was wayyyyy overpriced and in small portions. Most Korean restaurants give you like 10 plates of sides and keep filling them. This was 3 and the small plates were split in half.
$34 for a small piece of seabass with nothing else on the plate.
Awesome ambiance and service though and was great to sit in the open air.
I love everything about this place -- except the noise.
And I don't like OPEN TABLE characterizing the maximum noise level as "energetic."
It's not energetic -- it's terrible.
OPEN TABLE should be talking to restaurants about how much their noise levels deter customers from coming. I dine out very rarely now -- because most restaurants are unnecessarily deafening.
Our server Tommy was outstanding! He was very attentive and when asked gave us suggestions on how to select our dishes. We found him to be very knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and accommodating
Do Hwa is always a good meal. The atmosphere is great and we enjoy each visit. Great for paleo diets too!
Other than the fact that they were out of Rose', which was a minor blip, everything was great. The wait staff was very accomodating, helping us to choose from the menu as we were pretty much unfamiliar with the Korean fusion foods and we were very pleased with our meal. I think it's the right combination of authentic and creative. Cool decor and ambiance. I definitely recommend it. (I rarely give five stars so don't be discouraged by my four-star rating.)
They have a great happy hour from 5-7pm with good cocktails and a 3 shared dinner food dishes. The staff will try every trick in the book to make sure you order from the normal menu. They might hide the menu from you, or take it away and replace it with a full menu where things are triple the price. Just stay strong and hold onto the happy hour menu.
I went with a group of 10 and they were upsold $36 short ribs and premium shelf cocktails. The check turned out to be $1200 for a post work happy hour event. Should've just gone to a bar.
Do Wha always delivers exceptional dining and experience.
The best food, staff, drinks and then some
Unfortunately my soup was too spicy but the waiter helped me to overcome it with extra soup. so he was very helpful. Food is night in general
Do Hwa was a very nice restaurant in a good location with great service, but the price point was high in relation to the portion sizes compared to other Korean bbq establishments in the city.
We've been to Do Hwa several times over the past 10 years, really nice ambiance, very comfortable, food always a cut above average Korean plus full bar with wonderful cocktails. Convenient West Village location too.
A previous experience at Do Hwa brought us and out visiting friends back. They love hibachi, so the opportunity to let them cook their own foods was a plus. They had not experienced Korean barbecue in this way before, but Do Hwa was a winner, especially this evening. BimBimBop was delicious, grilled meats were great, the ribs and scallion pancakes were perfect. If you’re looking for a new experience that’s delicious and memorable, Do Hwa is a perfect option.
Great atmosphere, food and perfect service. Meet up with some old friends and we had a lovely evening dinning near the window.
Not great. service was kind of poor (messed up our order/wouldn’t offer a real apology, snappy), and didn’t appreciate having to pay standard 20% tip for poor service
A perennial favorite. Food is always SO good. It’s lovely that a restaurant this good and busy isn’t absurdly loud. Great for larger groups too. Love love love.
Everything was great! The restaurant just opened for dinner so they weren’t busy. The service was great! Our food was prepared quickly and tasted delicious! I’ve eaten here before when it has been busier and the service was great then also! I’ve never been disappointed here!
I really enjoyed my dining experience at Do Hwa. I've been before and eaten and drank at the bar but this time I had a sit-down dinner with a group of people to celebrate mine and my mother's birthday. It was a fantastic experience and the food was delicious. I really liked that there was an option to have a grill table or not (we opted for a grill!). If you don't want to cook your own food you can order off the menu. My family did both and both were amazing. The meat is quality, as are their other dishes. The service was amazing, everyone we encountered was so courteous and helpful. The staff really made the night wonderful and I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves good drinks and KBBQ!
Ce fût vraiment une belle soirée. Les employés sont courtois et professionnels !
La nourriture est bonne et ma fiancé a vraiment adorée son anniversaire :)

As a family, we have been to a number of Korean barbecue restaurants in Manhattan. This one has a terrific atmosphere, and the food was immensely flavorful. The staff was knowledgeable about the food, made excellent suggestions and were attentive to exactly the right degree. Highly recommend this restaurant as authentic food wise with a delightful atmosphere.
Best Korean barbecue I’ve had in the city. The restaurant is upscale, healthy, and delicious.
Interesting, tasty cocktails. Food was delicious!!
The food and service is always great here. Neighborhood gem!
Read reviews. Was nearby. Wanted to compare Korean to restaurant in Montclair, NJ. Should have stayed home. Tasteless. Noisy. Nonchalant service.
Our server was friendly and helpful to the mostly neophyte eaters of Korean food. A great experience and would go back again.
Birthday dinner for my wife was excellent and the service was even better.
Our first time having Korean BBQ, and it could not have been a better experience.
Dimitri, our waiter, was great and helpful in making selections that we enjoyed.
Too noisy. God food! Nice staff.
The kids were cooking at the BBQ table the mothers enjoying wine and appetizers at the bar to celebrate the end of ELA it was amazing!!
Delicious food, nice cocktails but a bit loud. Booths were cushioned a bit oddly - loose cushions. Nice to have a booth though. We did get kicked out of our table for another group after about a couple of hours.
Great place. Amazing food. Good prices and fantastic service
Wonderful birthday dinner with authentic Korean meat on a communal grill. Delicious Sake and great service.
This is one of my neighborhood staples. I'm sad to hear it may be going away. If you have the chance to go, GO NOW. The food is fantastic and the overall experience is always great.
We had Korean BBQ and the food was fine but we could not believe how little you get while paying a lot. It tasted good but it's a total ripoff!!!
We loved this place! Several friends of mine from childhood (who are now located all across the country) met up with me here in NYC and we tried this place out. We all loved the food! I'm a vegetarian, so naturally I am a tricky one to please, but the cuisine was good for all diet types. It's not the most authentic I've ever had in my life, but the dishes were traditional with twists here and there that kept the integrity of the native cuisine. Dark, nice ambience... good location, albeit a bit tricky to find.
