   We did not have a great dining experience. Initially, our server was coming by about every two minutes to the table, which was smothering, and then was hard to find our last 45 mins of dining. When we had one person at the table order a second drink, so brought the entire group able another round without asking the rest of us. It was a challenge for her to get those drinks refunded. Additionally, she did not listen to our requests on splitting a bill, which delayed us almost an additional 30 minutes to wait for the manager to fix her several errors. The food was sub-par at best. Our queso was cold and the salt block for the waygu steak was so small that only half of our meat was able to cook on it while it was hot. We had to wait another 20 mins to get a second block. Overall, we found our server to be horrible and the food to be a disappointment….

   Guacamole was spectacular, as were the empanadas. The rest, salad, shrimp tacos, all very good.

   The place was alright overall, but the experience felt a bit all over the place. It was super packed, and we wanted somewhere more private, so we went to the lounge. No one checked our IDs going in, and we even ordered food down there without anyone saying anything. Then suddenly, they kept moving us around because we weren’t 21 and apparently weren’t supposed to be there—something we didn’t even know at first. The manager didn’t seem to care much or try to help the situation. On the bright side, there was one really professional man who checked on us and made sure we were okay, so props to him. Our waitress was nice, but it felt like she was rushing us out. She offered us a to-go bag right after we got our first appetizer, which felt a bit off. Not the worst place, but definitely could’ve been handled better.

    My friend and I went to dLeña to celebrate a recent promotion, after she raved about her wonderful experience for her birthday brunch. Unfortunately, while the food was good, our experience there was not so positive. Our reservation was for 1:30 PM (with a 2 hour time limit), but when making the reservation, there were no notes that the kitchen closed at 2:45 PM. As a result, we virtually only had time for a 1 hour brunch. From the moment we began ordering dishes for the bottomless brunch, our waitress rushed us through the process, constantly checking her watch, looking displeased when we ordered only 4 dishes at a time, etc. At 2:15 PM, she told us the kitchen would close in a half hour. We eventually started ordering more dishes at a time to ensure all the food was ordered before the kitchen closed; although more dishes came out, the used/dirty dishes weren't cleaned up at the same rate. Around 2:30 PM, we asked for more coffee, and the waitress came back to report that the coffee had been dumped out and a new pot would have to be made. She gave the impression that it was a big inconvenience, as if to dissuade us. We asked how long it would take to brew a new pot and were told it would be 8 minutes; it took only 2. As we were wrapping up far before the 2 hour time limit, other waiters and staff tried to hurry people out of the restaurant. Our negative experience was largely due to our waitress, who was never friendly, was sometimes hard to flag down, and often looked unhappy with us; conversely, when my friend went for her birthday, her waiter was very friendly and gave her group a positive experience. Overall, I'd recommend going to dLeña for brunch, but since the reservation system won't inform you, I recommend going at 12 PM at the latest. You can't control who your waiter is and how it will impact your experience, but the timing will hopefully help.
