The Diver is an authentic Mexican restaurant and bar with a menu of fresh, high quality ingredients where traditional family recipes are presented with a modern twist from beachside towns found in Mexico like Tulum, Sayulita, and Baja.

The Diver boasts a spacious outdoor bar with a lively atmosphere, featuring full outdoor marble bar, lounge seating, high tops, and outdoor dining. There is an extensive cocktail menu featuring premium tequilas, an array of signature margaritas and uniquely crafted sangrias.

The Diver is owned by Mexico native and long time Chicagoan, Adolfo Garcia. Third generation restauranteur, Adolfo has brought this jaw dropping concept from Mexico, Malibu, downtown Chicago, and now Highland Park.

Service painfully slow but they were clearly understaffed. Very inattentive. Hard to get the waiter when we wanted to order. Fajitas were mediocre. Chips were greasy. We will not be returning. There are much better choices in the area.

Drinks are not very good. Low quality alcohol and sugary. Service was very slow, which I get in the climate we are in today. Our server had zero personality. The chips tasted like they had been fried in old grease. Our appetizer came so overcooked it was not edible. Overall, the food is just ok. There is one choice for dessert, churro. I was afraid to order it for fear it would taste as bad as the chips. The only good about this restaurant is the atmosphere. It has a very vacationy vibe. I will not be returning and I would not recommend.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great server. But… to the manager…. please make sure no crumpled napkins under table you seat me at, menu comes clean without salsa on it and chair doesn’t have salsa on it. We will definitely be back but these things do matter. Thank you.

The steak fajitas were a little bit spicy and no taste. The sauce its cooked in adds no flavor. The restaurant should have on it's menu combination shrimp and steak, steak and chicken fajitas. The rice was tasteless and very dry. The restaurant is pretty .
