Ditka's Restaurant - Wexford Ratings and Reviews
Comfortable, quiet atmosphere for our anniversary dinner. Small snack sample before meal was nice touch. Server was very nice and for most part attentive. Although, my soft drink did sit empty for a time leaving me wanting more. Main course was delicious and cooked to our liking. I almost finished my filet with crabmeat when I encountered a small hair on my plate. Doubt that it had come from my person but I i talked myself into thinking that it may have as I didn't want to put damper on occasion for my wife as she had suggested your place for our anniversary date. Staff should be trained to be sure that this cannot happen. Sharable side of macaroni with bacon sounded like a great pick but seemed prefab and was not very good. Dessert was delicious.
Second trip to Ditka's as last visit was in Sunday and Dad wanted prime rib. Room is comfy and pleasant in a generic way. Started off with the highlights of the meal: Coach's Manhattan (highly recommended, even at $14) and a shared plate of fried calamari - clearly fresh, lightly battered, piping hot and enhanced with hot pepper rings - they disappeared!!!
Dinner was standard steak house fare. Everything is a la carte and what one would expect, but nothing more. My petite filet was well seasoned and cooked but I have never needed a steak knife to cut broccoli before. Now I have. The baked potato we shared was massive and delicious, especially the coarse-salted skin! Dad was underwhelmed by his prime rib - nothing wrong with it, just didn't live up to the raves of friends. Service was competent, pleasant and unobtrusive. We each enjoyed a glass of the Smith and Hook Cabernet (blend). Very tasty and easy drinking. I generally feel like a schmuck paying $15/glass for a wine that retails for $21 a bottle and this time was no different. That's better than the 300% of retailed charged for a few of the 'Great Bottles of Wine for $30' listed in the menu but not by much.
We were greeted with a smile and escorted to our table. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and checked on us in a timely manner. Since this was our first time at the restaurant, the manager came over to our table with a special artichoke/parmesan crustini--very nice gesture. The best part of the dining experience was that our various courses were timed correctly so that we had ample time to enjoy each course before the next one arrived. This is not something most restaurants seem to have mastered. The food was very good, also. We will definitely return to enjoy again.
One of the best steaks I've had in years I had filet mignon my husband had prime rib melt-in-your-mouth juicy steak not overspiced. My broccoli got cold sitting at the table but they warmed it up for me nicely. Service was excellent. Restaurant was clean and spacious. A little on the expensive side but worth it if it's a special occasion.
Delmonico requested as medium plus. Waiter sold me on medium, as they are cooked at very high temp. Meal came to the table and the waiter suggested we cut in. The cut looked like a medium rare, but I figured the outer edges would be at least medium. Wrong. Closer to medium rare or rare and not at all warm. I held off eating any and planned to ask for a little heat. Waiter never returned until wife was already finished with meal (which was good). My side dish never made it to table and when it was delivered by manager, he offered to take the side off the bill and sent us out a nice dessert. No discussion of other aspects of meal and I was ready to be out of there. The reheated delmonico was not bad as a leftover for the kids.
Restaurant was not very busy. Steak was excellent as was the chicken piccata. Service was adequate although it did seem to take overly long given the number of customers. Ditka's is a bit pricey but compares well with Morton's Steakhouse. We would return to this restaurant.
We picked this restaurant for a birthday celebration. It was formerly Atria's Rest and had been under construction for some time changing over to Ditka's. When it was Atria's it was a wonderful rest. Was there many many times even for holiday dinners. On this occasion we were completely shocked at the terrible food. The service was ok and the place is very nice but if your food is bad that's everything. A suggestion would be to taste test your meals.
The food was good but there really weren't entree portions for light eaters. A 20 oz. pork chop is entirely too much for a petite woman. The food was tasty but there really should be smaller meat portions. I settled for a seafood pasta that I could take home half and reheat it on another day.
Took 45 minutes to get our drinks, sat by the door to patio, constant opening very annoying and windy made our meals cold, took 3 hrs for our dining. Not a very good experience, this was our 2nd time there first time was wonderful our waitress was Amy, great attitude and personality. You should have her train your people. Will think twice about coming back. Paul Bufano
My fiancé and I went on a saturday evening at 6:15pm and did not receive our food until 7:40pm. Our waitress didn't bring one item to our table and had runners bring us everything. We had to flag her down just to get a refill on a drink. For the amount of money per meal charged I expected much better service. Will not be going back.
This was the first time we had dined at Ditka's and were very pleased with our experience. Outstanding food, atmosphere and service. We appreciated the efforts of the manager to come to our table to welcome us and again during our meal to ask how we were doing. Being first time diners we were offered a complimentary appetizer which, like everything else, was exceptional. We will certainly return to dine again.
Well I must say I was somewhat disappointed. Especially considering the price of the food. Knowing that this is a steakhouse that boasts Chicago style steaks.
I thought the steaks were very good but certainly not over-the-top. The side dishes were really disappointing. My twice baked potato was cold and frankly dry and an unappetizing. The manager did however , "make it right "and took it off the bill and gave us free desserts that were quite delicious. My wife had steak Oscar and frankly the sauce and crab meat were nothing special . Wine prices were reasonable except for the captains list. Limited number of appetizers. Not going to be breaking down the door to get back there soon but kudos to the manager and our excellent waitress . In summary if the prices were a little higher than outback maybe this would be a good place but it cannot even come close to Flemings, Eddie V's, or the capital Grille. But the prices are about the same
We celebrated an anniversary and the staff at Ditka's made the evening very special. They gave us an anniversary card signed by our server and the staff, and placed us at a prominent seat in the restaurant. The service was fantastic and the food was outstanding. Thank you again to the staff at Ditka's for making the night a good one!
This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The food was all ice cold and the steaks were over done. Tell me how can you over cook a medium steak to nearly well done and have it come out luke warm. The only good thing about our experience was the cocktails we had at the bar before our dinner. The bartender T was fantastic, and will be the only reason we return.
