Ditka's - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
Visited for a Sunday brunch before some Christmas shopping. We were delighted that they opened at 9:00 (and accepted reservations through Open Table). Our breakfast meals were wonderful and the server was very attentive.
The only surprise was that - due to local regulations - they are not permitted to serve alcohol on Sunday until 10:00 a.m. That would be helpful information to include on the website or brunch menu where Bloody Mary and Mimosa specials are listed.
The fried chicken and waffles are the best I’ve ever had. You will not be disappointed! We were seated in an area close to the entrance into the office building. Even though this was on Sunday, there was quite a bit of foot traffic through the door. We understood that this was because patrons were coming from the garage since it was raining and there were no spaces left in the main parking lot. Very distracting to have a steady flow of people entering directly into the dining area. Secondly, there was a vent located directly over our area that was blowing cold air. The gentlemen at the table next to ours had to get a hat and most diners were wearing coats to stay warm. We asked the staff to turn it off but we were told that the vent in question is controlled by the building managers and there was nothing they could do. They did not offer to re-seat us. Definitely get the chicken and waffles but do not allow them to seat you in the area where we were!
We meet friends here for brunch all the time. Love it.Love Paige (long Time Paige)! She treats us so well. Plus, we love that we always get the last booth by the window. It is slightly quieter there and our friend is partially deaf so it is helpful to sit there.
Love coming back to Ditka's OakBrook. The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious. Love the Shrimp Bowl with quinoa and brown rice as well as the juicy burgers and steaks. Great place to hang out for the games, too. Those Pot Roast nachos are legendary. Most people don't they serve breakfast on the weekend starting at 9. Love the pot roast hash.
Everything was overpriced and very ordinary. The wedge salad was listed as Bibb lettuce in the menu but it was iceberg, and it came with minimal dressing. We had to ask for more dressing. The server forgot the fries with the burger. The Delmonico steak special was inedible. Will never go back.
Very good lunch option in the area. Ordered an entree salad that was fresh & tasty, with lots of salad greens, pecans, cranberries, goat cheese, grilled chicken. Very good! My friend ordered a burger that was huge and also very good. Lots of fresh toppings. We shared caprese flatbread as a starter that was very good as well. A scoop of decadent Valharona chocolate ice cream rounded the meal!
Cocktails were excellent. We had enough time to enjoy our drinks before we ordered. The food was good, but not outstanding. The tuna was very nice in presentation and taste, but it needed a starch on the side or another vegetable. Hard to do with a slightly Asian inspired dish. My wife had the crab cake and it was passable. Not enough crab and a lot of filler. The slaw needed something and the rice was dry and tasteless. Our other diner had the salmon. We asked for simple grilled and it was tasty. It was served with quinoa in an interesting preparation. Perhaps they should concentrate on less trendy preparations and stick to simple, quality dishes. It will be some time before we try this restaurant again.
We were there meeting some out of town friends for brunch. There were 11 of us and we wanted to go to a restaurant that took reservations since it was on a Sunday at 10:30 AM and we had young children with us and did not want to sit around in a crowded waiting area waiting for a table. Also, the size of our group makes it a little harder for some restaurants to accommodate us. Food was great, service was great, we were seated right on time. A little bit more expensive than a small breakfast diner but not that much. And you can get a really good Bloody Mary or Mimosa if you want.
Fantastic place to bring your family for a delicious meal, drinks, appetizers. Very nice atmosphere and dedicated and accommodating wait staff. We had a most wonderful and enjoyable time. We will certainly come back again and will recommend it to others. Great place.
My granddaughter wanted to go out for breakfast on her birthday. We chose Ditka's and were well rewarded. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and ambiance ( noise level), was also very good - unlike most breakfast places which can be excessively noisy.
Overall, a really outstanding experience - highly recommend it for breakfast.
Called ahead plus talked to the unpleasant hostess on arrival: our dinner for four was a 95th birthday celebrstion. Requested as quiet as possible a table as 95 year olds do not hear too well. The hostess put us at a table adjacent to the bar. We asked to move.
This place is a factory incapable of personal or even considerate attention. 95 is a big deal. I regret choosing Ditka’s. I’ll never go back. If you have a special occasion, go somewhere else.
I have enjoyed several evening meals there and each one was wonderful. Today was my first luncheon there. Each of us was very pleased with our selections. Our server, Sarah, was terrific. So attentive, kind and thoughtful. We decided to celebrate our next birthday luncheon at Ditka’s which will be in December. Thank you to all of the staff who were there to make our dining experience so enjoyable. MN
We had never been to Ditka's. Thought it was just another expensive steakhouse. After eating at Grill 89 in Westmont (run by them as well), and really enjoying it, we decided to give Ditka's a try. It was great! Yes, there are expensive steaks, but a lot more. Menu has a nice variety and prices are not bad. We had heard they were famous for the pork chop, so that's what we ordered. Delicious and well priced at $20. We split a salad, which was perfect because half (they kindly split it for us) was good sized. Decided to split a dessert too. The ice cream pie is awesome, but huge. Should have split with the whole table of 4.
Actual restaurant, service, and food was great. Parking situation sucks and the office building is under construction so when we walked up the stairs from the under ground parking garage we had no idea where to go or how to get into the restaurant. It was confusing and there weren’t any signs. We ended up walking around for a while. We asked a security guy and he told us to just walk that way, you’ll see it......we didn’t see anything. Ended up going outside and walking around until we got back to the front.
