Ditka's - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
Breakfast was delicious. Avocado on Toast was very delicious ... Much better than elsewhere. Lobster omelet was excellent. The only minus was their Bacon .... Considering that pork is one of their specialty ... You would think they would know a good pig. Service was Great!
Disappointing considering it was Valentines Day and the restaurant could have been better repaired for the crowds. Steak was over cooked and needed to wait for a new steak after the sides had already been served and getting cold at the table. Restaurant had technical difficulty and couldn’t process credit cards. Waited forever for the bill and didn’t even get comped a dessert for all the delays. Not dinning here again for awhile.
It was Valentine's Day. One rib eye was ordered medium...it came rare--still cold inside.
The waiter promptly sent it back, but then the rib eye returned as well done. Oh, well.
The place was packed; hence the noise volume was high.
The prime rib was excellent. The rib eye had seasoning and the filet did not.
The filet was pretty bland and just okay.
The prix fixe menu was very good. Salads and soups were excellent. The desserts were fabulous. The support servers (water, rolls, plate clearing, etc) could not have been beat!
We celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday with our adult daughters. We’ve dined at Ditkas before and ordered our favorites - for me the salmon and my husband the signature pork chops. Our daughters had entree salads. My salmon was fishy and my husband’s pork chop was dry - a disappointment and certainly not like the quality in the past. We did not say anything to our waitress because I didn’t want to spoil the special occasion but I’m not sure we’ll be back anytime soon. Thank you for allowing me to comment.
Having been to Ditka's, several times before, I was looking forward to going back. Sorely disappointed. I don't know if the waitstaff AND chef where having bad days, or what happened. First we were seated by the door - overtime it opened, cold air blew in. Then there was a bug (a fruit fly, but still a bug) in my wine. I quietly called the waitress over, and she acted like she didn't believe me. The next 2 glasses of wine, had a film on the bottom of the glass that was like a soap scum. At one point, I had to ask the busboy, to call the waitress over for another drink.
Ordered the NY Strip Steak with encrusted horseradish. I typically order medium, and I would say this was a medium + which was fine. However, it was pretty tasteless. Even the horseradish was surprising bland. We ordered a side of the King Crab Risotto - and had crab shells.....
Seriously disappointing. As much as I've enjoyed Ditka's in the past - it will be a long time before I go back. There are enough other quality restaurants in that area, that I enjoy dining at also.
The food was great. I had the salmon with quinoa and broccoli. Very moist , amazing sauce.I was so happy to see their fish selections are all sustainable. My husband had French onion soup again loved it and a filet with horseradish crust yummy and tender. Service was good and very helpful with wine selection. A bit pricey, but for a good meal once in awhile I would highly recommend.
This Ditka’s location is our favorite to come to because the nachos are amazing. This day however they were not very good. The meat was off tasting and not it’s usual greatness. Normally even the nachos are assembled better and the sour cream is penned on. This was sloppy and not very good. We didn’t even finish them and that is what really brings us in. The waitress was phenomenal though.
Our first experience at Ditka's was in the "just ok" category. We booked last minute as a central meeting point for friends visiting in the area. The Oakbrook site seems very popular with the after hours business crowd which attributed to a fairly high noise level in the bar which carried over to the dining room.
The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating when we had to move our reservation back to a later time. Food quality was ok but not to the level we've experienced with other Chicago steakhouses. The waitstaff was great and very willing to substitute sides and starch.
If you want a nice place for a business dinner Ditka's would be fine. However, there are nicer places in the area for a special evening out with a higher level of food quality and better ambiance.
We’ve been to Ditka’s a number of times and it’s always top-notch, both food and service. Tonight we weren’t very hungry so we got a small order of pot roast nachos, crab bisque, and split a cheeseburgers. I know you wouldn’t think to get a cheeseburger at a steak joint, but they are incredibly good here. Also we had the raspberry smash martini and also the banana cream pie - both were excellent. I also highly recommend the crab cake, and their brunch is really great too.
Table was not ready and champagne was the wrong one. Had the special Mahi Mahi yet it tasted fishy and was well done not very appetizing
The sides were small portions and the dessert was tiny. Had ice cream and barely enough for two bites. Maybe they need a bigger scooper.
I would not recommend this place to anyone
