Ditka's - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
We had a nice time. Our party of five had a hard time talking as it was so incredibly loud on a Sat night. I found myself yelling just to tell a story. The food options were excellent and I appreciated the service from the smiling bus(man). I ordered ribs and at first they seemed tender but into the middle the meat was tough and it seemed like they were cooked and reheated days earlier. I don’t think we would go back unless it was a quieter weeknight like a Monday at 4:30 pm.
Bar staff not very attentive while we waited for our table. Arrogant waiter, possible knowing a table of 10 didn't need it?? Food was just okay if that for the pricing. First experience at Oakbrook location and unfortunately will definitely not be returning again.
We go to Ditka's usually for special occasions. This time it was a busy New Year's Eve. We were seated promptly upon arrival. Our table was waiting for us. Our server explained the specials for that day. We had some great wine and the dinner was excellent. I highly recommend Ditka's.
Should not let children sit in the bar area or the booths around the bar. There was a child shining a bright LED flashlight in our direction for a good part of our meal. We know that is not the restaurant's fault, but we left our kid at home so as not to be a bother to other patrons.
I went to Ditka's this past Saturday with a group of my friends and family. I have been to the Chicago location before, but this was my first time going to this location. I was about to go to the Arlington heights location, but after so many reviewers stated the food was not as good I changed my mind. I am SO glad I did. The food was delicious and was of equal quality to the Chicago location. All of us loved our food. My cousin and her spouse were in from out of town and they really enjoyed it here. The food had huge portions. Especially the ribs and pork chops. My ribeye steak was the best I have had in a long time. Not only was it tender, but it was favorable. The waiter stated it was the best steak they had and he was right! The only complaint was with our waiter. Our waiter was okay, but he could have been better. He was upset at the end of our dinner because we asked for separate checks. We usually mention this when we first sit down, but were caught up in our conversation that we forgot. He made these facial expressions as if it was a nuisance. We also enjoyed the desserts. My favorite was the carrot cake. I am not a big fan of sweet carrot cake an this was the 1st one that had no nuts or raisins. The cake was also a huge portion that all of us were able to nibble off of it. The ambiance is so great. They have bears memorabilia posted everywhere and it brought back those 80's memories of the bears when they were winning. (Oops..NO shade intended).
Definitely try this place if you haven't. Can't beat great food at a reasonable price and a menu that has something everyone would like.
We enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner very much and were very pleasantly surprised to see a full menu and not a reduced selection. Ambience was a little lacking because we were in a corner but that also reduced the noise level...which was quite festive, but then it was a holiday. The choices offered everything from comfort to eclectic...something for everyone.
Christmas eve family dinner. We decided to stay local and not go downtown.
we had reservations through Open Table. We showed up ten minutes early. The valet fella quickly took care of our car. Nice since it was a cold windy evening.
Walked in. It was busy with people waiting. Provided the person our name. She talked to someone and within a couple of minutes she told us that our table was ready.
We had a very nice table against the wall which provided us a bit more privacy and a lower noise level. We were provided menus, we selected some drinks which came quickly.
We placed our orders and our meal came in a timely manner. The nice thing is that everything was hot, not warm but hot which is perfect. there were three of us and we all agreed the food, chicken, filet and tuna were all 10s. The sides were also nice. Warm bread with soft butter on the side. Doesn't get any better.
our waitress was nice, friendly and efficient. The other wait-staff were likewise polite and attentive.
We had high expectations because of prior meals at the Ditka's downtown and this one did not disappoint. If anything it was slightly better. No both were - are very good places.
