Have dined here since it open... sad to see it will be closing
We are sad to see this place close. This has been a fantastic restaurant, but due to the lack of horse gamblers nowadays it seems like people are less frequenting this restaurant. Fortunately, the staff is transferring to the Oakbrook location and for those who did not they were given good severance.
They are closing in a week so I didn't think I would write a review but I was disappointed for the first time. I always give glowing reviews of this place. Don't go if you want to have one last meal there before they close. It may ruin your experiences there for good. I was disappointed. The wait staff didn't want to be there and couldn't answer any questions with anything but "I don't know, I don't normally work here". The food was average at best and this place is always top notch. Sorry to see it go. . . but disappointed in how they are obviously in a hurry to get out and didn't put the same care they normally do into things.
So sad to hear this location is closing. We went for our favorite of pot roast nachos and burgers. Who ever heard of pot roast nachos? But they are delicious. Burger was great.
Restaurant is old school. Quiet, soothing, low lighting, great for conversation without hearing your neighbor. Acoustics are great for keeping bar noise contained. Service is always excellent.
Be aware they have cut back on their hours. Over heard the hostess telling the family in front of us they were going to be closing for awhile when asked about the hours. Maybe for the season or renovation?
The experience was good nothing exceptional. Compared to over Ditka's I have been to it needs updating. Everything seemed worn out.
Food was good for the price. Service was ok. We had to ask for a bread basket & no one returned to see if everything was ok with the meal. She did return to ask about dessert.
Thanksgiving Feast was excellent. Mikes beer good. Service by wait staff was excellent.
Thanksgiving Dinner with my husband
We spent our third Thanksgiving family dinner at Ditka's eagerly anticipating a juice double cut pork chop. Unfortunately, the people sitting at the table we reserved sat for 45 minutes after they paid the bill chatting rather than moving to the bar area. Given were were seated an hour after our reservation, the manager picked up the round of drinks and appetizers, which was much appreciated. Everything was great as usual. We are sorry to see Dikta's go and wish everyone well.
We loved the turkey fixed menu, especially the soup and pumpkin dessert.
It’s always great!
Great Thanksgiving Dinner with the family. Great value and great food although I would have liked to be able to order items from the regular menu as well.
This place is great for Thanksgiving. Make Reservations
Could not have been better! EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection. Very comfortable, staff was friendly and attentive. Worth every penny. I'd like to go back just to try other dishes!
Exceptional service as usual! Rose our waitress is the best there is!
We enjoyed the night at Ditka's. Although: I had to ask for more water. My wife's steak came out almost raw, when the order was for medium. The waitress took care of the situation immediately. We were not unhappy, just a little underwhelmed.
We really like this restaurant, the food is great and service outstanding. It's too bad that it is closing, we will miss it tremendously.
We had a party of 9, including one high chair, and they managed to even give us a private room! We were celebrating 2 birthdays with family and had a really nice evening.
Our Server Rose was absolutely wonderful!!! She was the best!!!! Great food and service and atmosphere!!
Good service. Salad was fantastic. Main meal very good. Enjoyed.
food was bad for price. a steak for 38.00! terrible and dry...salmon portion was small. service bad!
Would be a good place to watch the Bears...of course....but the God Awful 70s hits soundtrack played the entire time.
Worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant, and I'm 58 years old.First time at Ditkas, ordered the pork chop and the inside was literally Pink!!!!! Called over waitress and got another pork chop 15 minutes later, my girl was finished eating already.....so I ate by myself. Excuse my language but the whole experience SUCKED!!!!!!!!
My salmon was delicious as was the banana cream pie. Husband didn't care for the sauce on his Philly Cheese Steak sandwich.
TJ our Waiter Gave us Excellent Service My Wife and I Enjoyed My 70th Birthday
Food was Good
I dine out a lot and Ditka's is very average. For a few $ more you can go to a proper stake house, upscale fish place / sushi, etc. The service was good, very good in fact, but the menu is limited and not all that exciting. Overall the value just isnt there at the price (180 for 3 with drinks). Look elsewhere.
we'll be back
the pork chop was unbelievable
see you soon
Parking is atrocious! Ditka's was less than half full - the nearby parking was reserved for Trackside VIP's! So I had to walk a very long way to the front door!! I ordered the Filet Sliders, I really liked them the last time I was there, but this time they were disappointing - won't do that again. Drinks were good but if you like a dry martini, be sure to ask or you will be able to taste the vermouth, big time! I was more into the fellowship than the food, but the food could have been better.
Not like ditkas in oak Brook
Nice place, great service. I had the crab cakes but wasn't happy with the flavor.
How great that Ditkas honored my request for a quiet table for conversation. With 6 of us, we were placed in a small room off the main dining room with a round table. Perfect to share everyone’s stories. And as usual, service was great and our server, T.J. reminded us we had 10 min left of happy hour so we all took advantage of that. Food was great. We look forward to our next visit.
We had the crab bisque and it was a little salty for us. The crabcakes were good. The prime ribs were tender and juicy. The sautéed mushhroom and spinch was also a little salty for us. The server was very friendly and helpful.
Rose our waitress was fantastic! Great food, great service!!!!
Great food, nachos are delicious.
Food and service was excellent. Will definitely come back and recommend to family and friends.
We had the prime ribs and it was very juucy and tender. Our serve Kelly was very friendly and attentive.
Food, service, ambiance is excellent but wear a sweater or a sport coat, this restaurant is always very cold.
Great service and food! We were celebrating our anniversary and the hostess and waiter treated us like royalty.
The pot roast nachos are a must!
We have been customers of this Ditka's for years now and the service and food are always good, BUT they have now cut the menu to the bone, a single side of a single sheet to cover all courses. Any more cuts and it will not be worth even the short drive we have to get there.
While a drink order was taken immediately it took 15 min to get and also first time we were treated by our waitress. While I had the filet and it was awesome others in party had ribeye and very dissatisfied dry and appearance was not good.
We sat on the patio which was very nice, but we had to go look for someone to wait on us (they kind of forgot about us) the manager apologized and gave us 2 free orders of pot roast nachos which was very nice of him. Nachos were very good.
All in all food was good, except mashed sweet potatoes were cold, 2nd time that happened there.
I think the wait staff need to be more attentive to the patio.
