Food and service are always first rate. Almost the entire menu is GF and their cornbread is OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Everything was really great! Nice clean place, big with great decor and friendly staff. Food was fresh and brought out quickly. The only thing we didn’t quite like was dessert. The tres leches was not soaked all the way through and the churros were undercooked. I’ll definitely be back again, (but maybe just for dinner).
Have loved this restaurant for almost a decade. Although the menu has been scaled back, they execute the basics really well.
Our server, Hunter, was awesome, as well.
Great food, great service, great drinks! Love the decor as well...especially the "car"!
Fish taco tasted funny, not very well flavored. The margarita was delicious !
Kitchen was a little backed up but food was fantastic once it arrived.
If you're looking for a fun vibe, delicious Mexican food and friendly, helpful service Distrito is an excellent choice. I'd been wanting to check out a Jose Garces restaurant for years and Distrito looked like a unique, affordable spot for a casual birthday dinner. We booked an early dinner reservation and were very happy to learn that happy hour specials from 5pm-7pm ($5 margaritas, sangria and nachos) are available everyday and throughout the restaurant, not just at the bar. The margaritas are solid and even better with passion fruit added!
Everyone working during our visit was friendly and accommodating and the colorful, Instgram-worthy decor and mix of Spanish /hip-hop music give a fun party vibe. We ordered the Mexican poutine to start and a mix of tacos and burritos for dinner. The poutine, fish tacos, burrito al pastor and sweet plantains were highlights and everything was good. My husband mentioned it was my birthday and we got hooked up with churros for all coconut and chocolate dipping sauce-so good! We had a blast and the mix of couples, families and college students there all seemed to be having a good time. We walked away full and happy for around $25pp (including 1 drink each).
Love this restaurant.....go about every 2 weeks!
The Waiter really made the whole experience so much more enjoyable
Great food and drinks in a cool environment
The taco Tuesday is amazing. Really great tacos for $2 a piece and great happy hour prices.
I love it! It's delicious and a fun atmosphere and the food is not expensive. It's a well oiled machine. The restaurant and bar close at 10 PM on weekends, so that's something to consider.
Everything was great except the waiter could of spoke louder. It was hard to hear him!
Lunch was very quiet at 1:30. Service was a little uncomfortable/awkward...a few mistakes were made, which was fine. Food was really good!
The waiting staff was very friendly but also allowed us to enjoy our meal. The food came out fairly quick and was clearly fresh. We ordered the guac , and three tacos each and everything was extremely good.
Loved everything about place .
Only negative I would say is the water boy was very rude and ignorant . But the rest of our encounters with staff was above average
I came to Distrito for a friend's birthday this weekend. I had come to this location once before but it was probably 3 years prior, but I was so happy that it was just as good as I remembered. Our server was so quick and right there anytime we needed her. We had some picky eaters and everything was accommodated and delicious. The guacamole is a must-get! Portions are perfect and everything came out hot and fresh. I can't wait to go back already-
Would highly recommend. Great food and service. We love that Distrito has happy hour everyday - with perfect $5-7 margaritas and specials. Can't find many places like that in the city. Also loved the tofu-chorizo option for my delicious quesadilla!! Will be back soon hopefully!
I went with a few friends for a fun and relaxed night out, and Distrito was perfect for a casual get-together! The passionfruit margs and Super Nachos were excellent and great for sharing. Only complaint/suggestion is that there is no where to put coats/jackets, and we were seated at a tall round table with stools, so I wish I had reserved a table with benches instead.
The ambience is stunning and the food is great and reasonably priced. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. It's a great place to go with a group of friends for a birthday, special occassion, or just a fun night. Even though it is very lively with many people it is not difficult to hear your own conversation.
We were not as happy after leaving as we usually are. What has changed? It seems like there have been some changes, like the menu and maybe the service too. No peanuts on the table? The change in menu. We ordered shrimp fajitas and my wife didn't really like her food. I had the chicken fajitas, and it was mostly onions. It even seemed like the churros were different. It is not like it used to be with a lot of sharing meals. We were seated downstairs, not sure why, that was a first, but we would prefer upstairs. Downstairs was pretty cold. Honestly, with the prices as high as they are, and the distance we have to drive to get there, we will probably just stay local and go to Qdoba, and save about $80. We were very disappointed. It used to be my wife's favorite place to go.
I have been to District a few times before this and I have to say those times were much better. They have made the menu a little more sparse and have gotten rid of the Chef's tasting, which I had very much enjoyed on previous occasions. However, the food was solid, margaritas were good, and service was excellent as usual.
Such an awesome restaurant. The margaritas are refreshing, and the food is delicious. I recommend getting a few things and sharing because there's too many options you don't want to miss. The restaurant also has such adorable and unique seating that really adds a fun element to the dining experience. Staff is friendly, and service is excellent.
Six of us had a wonderful new years eve at Distrito. One of the many joys of the evening was finding out that they still had their happy hour specials available until 7pm on a holiday. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food and coctails were delicious. I also got a parking space right in front of the restaurant!
Went for happy hour and the drinks were disgusting. I understand that you get what you pay for but happy hour can be an introduction to a restaurant or bar that makes a new customer a regular. The Super Nachos had little flavor. Service is generally kind but lacking professionalism. Our server, Octavio, was lovely though and tried to make our experience a good one.
Very consistent. I do wish there were more gluten free options.
Despite a reservation, when we arrived we were offered a high top near the bar or to sit at a long picnic table for a party of 3. Wait staff was trying hard and working fast but service was very slow (staff seemed to have a large number of tables spread all over). Food was excellent as usual (we come here fairly often). Waiter was pleasant and very helpful.
Love this place! Great margaritas, excellent food, fun atmosphere!
Upscale Mexican with a fun vibe. Chicken enchiladas to die for. Very friendly staff.
Best marguarita I've ever had, asked for it without sugar and they made it from scratch!
Food was good too
Staff was excellent
Our server Octavio was excellent and food was too!!
All was good except I wanted to sit upstairs. We sat at a picnic table and for the 5 of us our backs hurt while sitting there- not comfortable. Also sitting by the door so everytime it opened, we got freezing.
Tasting Menu is totally worth it!!! Even caters to vegetarian options. Great for groups and get-togethers.
Food was can of cold maybe because it was late at night
Consistently excellent Mexican food. Terrific frozen margaritas. The service is friendly and prompt. The only drawback is the very high noise level, although it is possible to have a conversation. One of Philadelphia's best.
The service was good Octivio was great. The food was okay. The drinks were great. I would go back for happy hour.
Nothing special. Overpriced Mexican fare. $13 for guacamole? Nope. They changed the original concept of this restaurant from a high-end small plate tasting menu with wonderful Mexican flavors into a college taco joint. I am sure the location had something to do with it but I miss the old menu. Go to Amada or Tinto instead.
All was fine but it was so cold in there not sure anyone can enjoy a meal there.
