First place to visit in University City when returning to campus!
I’m so glad we chose Distrito as the place to treat our son’s college friends to lunch before everyone headed home for a long break. The food was great and the service was quick, efficient and super friendly.
What a fun place to go - it has such a great atmosphere. Festive but not too loud. This is the first time we went during happy hour and they had a few really good choices for small plates that were both delicious and a good deal, along with their regular menu. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back.
Food was amazing. Wish I could remember the server name, she was awesome. Came to check on us several times, offered us drinks etc. Price was great for Taco Tuesday Happy Hour,
I like the new happy hour menu
Had to wait 30 minutes for a table after arriving on time for our reservation, waitress seemed stressed and the restaurant understaffed. Food and margaritas were delicious.
Great choice on the weekend to celebrate with friends!
Hands down the best nachos and margaritas around
Cute place filled with young people! Food was good and atmosphere nice!
My favorite place to with my husband or even with our kids ; very family friendly
Had a great time at Distrito- as always!! The food & drinks are great and come at such an affordable price. The restaurant was slightly more packed/noisy than usual, but that was expected since it was Valentine's Day. Overall good experience.
Overall, my experience was very good. Food was great and our waitress was so nice and efficient. I got to the restaurant about 20 minutes ahead of time as I was hosting a work function and wanted to order appetizers ahead of the rest of the groups arrivals. The hostess would not seat me until 50% of my party was there. I did not know the other members of my party prior to getting there, so I wanted to make things as seamless as possible (sometimes people can be hesistant to order apps, drinks, etc. so wanted to make it as comfortable as possible for them). I went to the bar and ordered a drink and went back to ask to be seated again (now, about 10 min ahead of time) and I really had to persuade her to seat me early so I could order apps. I was disappointed that on a night when they were not busy, they were really reluctant to accommodate my situation, even when we were spending a decent amount of money. Again, overall, things were fine, but this was one area i think Distrito could improve.
The Margaritas are the best. The waitress were very nice
amazing. our waiter was fantastic. margs are strong. love it.
Distrito is our go to Mexican spot. Good simple Tex/Mex at reasonable prices with a mix of Penn/Drexel students and locals.
We arrived about 10-15 minutes early and was able to get seated immediately although we did move to the bar which they made very easy. As soon as we were seated BOTH times we were greeted with professionalism. Drinks we made quick and our tacos came quick. This was the greatest restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The food was amazing and the drinks were amazing . The bar tender made sure cups of water stayed filled without us having to ask. I just loved it here ! I wish I could’ve sat in the swing seats but the bar was beautiful as well.
Worst service ever experienced in a Philly restaurant; our waitress completely ignored our table of 9 while attending to her other tables normally. We had the check for 45 minutes because she wouldn’t come back over to see if we needed help splitting the bill, and we had to get up and go searching for her because she wasn’t around. We asked for the manager to come over and he never did. The food was mediocre compared to the last time we all had been there, and overall would give it a 2/5 stars. Will not be back
Poor food. Poor service.
Good variety of menu options to share late lunch with friend: jicama salad, plantain, vegetable enchalada, beans with rice. Attentive service. Comfortable setting for an enjoyable afternoon.
Food was delicious but It should be noted somewhere that they do not seat guests upstairs after 8pm. Downstairs is a significantly more of a taco shop atmosphere.
Literally my favorite place to go with friends!
Excellent service and food. Was a little loud, hard to have a conversation. Great value!
The tacos are amazing, the margs-extra boozy, and the ambiance is also very cool.
The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious and the frozen margaritas are amazing!
Great service and good solid food.
Great food. Lots of items to share and also individual entrees. All delicious!
Reservations for Friday night. The first thing you notice as you walk in is a strong smell of bleach. My thoughts are what did they just clean up? Second thing I notice is that it’s pretty empty. It’s noisy but that’s coming from the bartender.
Like most Stephen Starr restaurants, they’re really nice when they first open but then slowly fall apart not very well maintained. The masks that decorate the wall look like they need a good cleaning at least a dusting.
Most of the food was OK. I like the corn. The fish taco tasted just a tad bit off.
I was here before and had a good memory of the place. Now, not so much. Can’t recommend. There are much better Mexican restaurants in the city. The small crowd on a Friday night tells a story of a restaurant thats not popular anymore.
Distrito used to be my first choice in Philadelphia for Mexican food. The quality has regressed and the service was just ok. The guacamole was bland and the salsa was watery. The atmosphere was very much like they didn’t want us there as there were empty tables and stacked chairs and in the past it was inviting and lively.
Really used to love this place, it had a great menu and food, but now its just average Mexican, with a smaller menu and lack luster preparation. The space is still cool and service is fine, but the food, which is why you go there, is past its day. Needs a do-over!
Best margaritas ever! Perfect happy hour spot - and dinner after you've had your fair share of the $5 margaritas. Highly recommend the al pastor tacos. Flavorful, juicy, tangy, delicious!
Food presentation and taste was outstanding. Excellent cucumber margarita. Our server, Sam, was attentive and knowledgeable about the entire menu so as to answer all of our questions. Building can amplify the energetic crowd, but I didn't find that to be a problem. Looking forward to our next visit.
While this restaurant is one of my favorites in University City for everyday dining, I also like it for celebrating with friends!
The service was fantastic, Emmanuel is a great guy who really knows how to make people feel welcome. We look forward to returning soon!
Distrito is a fun place to go with a family or a group of friends. Service was attentive and food was creative and served at the proper temperature with good spacing. We have dined there a number of times and would return.
The food was nothing special. The guacamole had no chunks in it and was just ok. The special taco was 450 and it was so small it was funny. The margaritas where good but not worth the money
We just got 3 taco's each, but they were very tasty. Service and atmosphere were excellent. We'll be back to try more things :).
Food is always delicious here! Service is quick and I love the energy of the restaurant. The tortilla soup is one of my favorite menu items; sooo good! Their tacos are always a good bet; very filling and a nice variety are offered.
We'r were dat on the top floor ad it was more family oriented. The drinks were good and the desserts Outstanding. Burritos lacked meat, they were more filled with rice and beans than pork. Taste was ok. Servers where attentive and cordial. Overall, it was ok. Pricey.
Distrito has always been a favorite. This time we also had the Horchata Flam for dessert. Absolutely scrumptious. Service was excellent as always too.
Distrito is always one of my favorite places to go so my friends took me here for my birthday. The service is always so fast and our server was knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. Food was delicious and came out quickly! Can't wait to go back again!
