Ana at District Winery
Ana’s juxtaposition of warm and cool finishes is peppered with mid century modern elements. Floor to ceiling windows create a bright, airy, urban-industrial gathering space in Ana’s dining room and bar. The outdoor patio offers views of the Anacostia River with a mix of tables and soft seating around fire pits.
My steak came out cold, our server mis-identified the cheeses; but the beverages, ambience, other waitstaff, and overall experience were between very good and outstanding.
Exceptionally delicious food. Service was attentive, with a little room for improvement on offering more drinks. Two in our party are vegetarians and really enjoyed the creative and delicious vegetarian options. Lovely atmosphere. We were there on a quiet evening so it did not have the vibrant feel that I expect it offers on a Friday or Saturday evening.
Food was good and interesting. Service started out with an attentive server and then she seemed to have gone on break about midway through dining (we never saw her again). Other servers were slow to check on us and when they did they wouldn’t really listen. For example, they asked if we needed to pay (we hadn’t paid yet and said as much) but then said something along the lines of “oh you’re all set then.” (???) Seems like they just heard what they wanted to hear/were expecting to hear.
Had s 2:15 reservation and we were told as we sat that brunch was over at 2:30. Whole meal was rushed.
Everything was great. The food was delicious. The rutabaga perogis are worth ordering two portions. The wine was good. Service was good, then switched servers and never really saw the other server which was unfortunate. There was a lady manager there who was phenomenal. I watched her really take over and do the steps of service for our table because she knew the server was busy and our entree round was about to hit the table. Little things like that go a long way and shows they care. She really cared about our experience and that made up for everything else. Drinks were quick and we left happy. Will be going back soon.
We were eating with a friend who has some dietary restrictions due to her health and the waiter kept saying we could not alter menu items. She couldn't eat much. If food is being made fresh, it's hard to understand why certain things in a dish couldn't b omitted. The waiter just seemed extremely unwilling to accommodate and a bit aloof. We spent almost $300 on dinner for three but you aren't willing to alter things so that we can enjoy them. That attitude makes no sense to me.
The wine was amazing. The service was very lackluster. The server seemed as if he didn’t care for us to be there. The short rib sliders were supposed to be crunchy. They were crunchy and dry. The pierogis were ok. The layering of flavors were off to me. If something was sweet and needed citrus or spice, it never showed up. A side note is the Brussels sprouts were amazing. Sprouts exhibited a great mix of salty and sweet. We can get great wine anywhere in the city so a return is unlikely.
setting is cool. view remarkable. food good. wine not as great nor reasonable as would expect.
My wife and I had a good time. No complaints
I had a great time. The food and the wine was amazing. My date and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the wall of presidents. I will definitely be back. 4.5 Stars
The location, fantastic, the food, excellent, service, great, and the ambiance exceptional! We will be back!
We’ve been to Ana before and always enjoyed it but this dinner was just over the top outstanding. Food was excellent and the service top notch and professional. I would give Ana the highest recommendation.
This is as fun place, and the food is very good. Our only concern (we are "seniors") is that the noise level is pretty high. The portraits of the Presidents on the wall are great.
I hope they reopen for lunch soon. They are a good addition to the neighborhood though a bit pricey.
I love Ana at District Winery. It's my go to spot for a nice lunch in Navy Yard. There is a wide variety of lunch items and plenty of options if you're trying to eat healthy. It's also a great dinner date spot.
Ana has a great location with a spectacular view. A group of six ate there on Saturday for lunch. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the great view and service couldn’t overcome the sub-par food. I had the kale salad (which was bitter) with chicken breadth. The chicken was dry, over cooked and flavorless. Another one of our group had the omelet, which was also dry and bland. Breakfast sandwiches were decent. Even the mixed drinks weren’t good — overpowering spice flavors without subtlety.
Overpriced, especially for restaurant week. The win is incredibly overpriced. If you had good wines at a good price, so many more people would come to your place.
Kind of expected this place to be pretty generic, but was pleasantly surprised! We got the French onion toast and scallops, as well as a side of Brussels and all were very tasty
Wait staff was rude.
Nice place for a business lunch. Not too noisy and the food is nice too.
My second visit. Had the 3 course meal of roasted vegetables, salmon and brownie. My friend had the roast chicken. Food was very good as was the service.
We did the tasting before dinner, which was a bunch of fun with Alex! Our dinner was delicious, staff was attentive and the place was great to celebrate a birthday.
Great service and even better food. Will definitely be returning!
Was a really nice ambiance, we really enjoyed our restaurant week experience there ($35 for appetizer, entree desert +$30 for wine pairing) it was a really good deal for the amount of food and wine we received. Only complaint was the service was rushed, we didn't feel like we were being cleared out at the end of the meal but the courses came out too quickly, barely having time to finish your last bite before the next course arrived.
We went for restaurant week lunch menu and were told that was not available despite the signs indicating lunch was being served. I had the omelet. It was just ok. My companion had Dutch apple pancakes which she enjoyed.
Have been to ANA several times for dinner, lunch, brunch and very satisfied. Service is excellent. Attentive, and prompt. Keep up the good work and thank you!!
We went for restaurant week and did not have a great meal. The service was friendly and the cocktails were great. But everything about the food was sad—odd flavors and uninspiring technique. The desserts were cold and tasted like they’d been prepared that morning and left out to get stale.
Went there for restaurant week and everything was perfect.
Simply excellent food and service.
I took myself on a solo birthday lunch, and the staff couldn’t have been more kind. Ill definitely be back!
Underwhelmed by the dinner menu so stuck to the bar food. Bar food was really good though, particularly the brussel sprouts.
It is a great place to meet for a drink or a date. The views are beautiful, but the menu is slightly limited. I like the food i have had there, but not a ton of options. Preview the menu before you go there just in case. Great location.
Delicious restaurant week lunch, including wonderful vegetarian options. Highly recommend!
Nice atmosphere - delicious food - friendly service.
Went for the Pajama Brunch on New Year Day. Excellent menu options and wonderful food. Even had a free photo booth.
We went to the New Year brunch. It was fun, food was good, fun way to start the year
Absolutely delicious NYE menu. Every course was wonderful. Best: Possibly the French Onion Toast.
The food and service were great, as always! Still love the fact that the restaurant can be pretty busy yet you can still hear everyone at your table without having to shout. Great acoustic design.
Service was good and prompt. Food was so-so. Wine was good and enjoyed the Cabernet Franc.
My friends and I went to Ana on a Thursday evening for dinner. It was pleasantly full and not noisy. We ordered drinks, a wine flight and the boozy cider option (rave reviews from my friends) and spent most of the night talking about the presidential portraits on the wall. Those were awesome and very entertaining! The food was very good too, especially their donut dessert. Would definitely recommend.
