Went for an anniversary celebration. Wonderful place!
Service was excellent. Everything came out in a timely manner
We (my husband and I) went for Sunday brunch during our spring break. We had made a reservation on Open Table ahead of time and they seated us at a nice table right by the window so we really enjoyed the view. We both ordered the crab cake Benedict and absolutely loved our food. The mimosas were also very good. We went the the tasting room first to kill time since we arrived 45 minute before our reservation. We enjoyed tasting their wines. After our brunch, we came back to the tasting room and purchased a couple bottles of their wine at a discount since we had eaten at the restaurant.
This was a great brunch place! We really enjoyed our meal!
Came on a Saturday evening with a later reservation (9pm), and they were able to squeeze us in earlier at 8pm which was really appreciated by us! Really enjoyed the food and the wine (although a little expensive), but service was a bit slow, and seating was cramped to try and squeeze in as many people as possible. Still would recommend or come back myself!! Good experience overall - made for a nice dinner with family in town.
Beautiful and the food was great! Went for brunch with the water view. Wonderful wine tasting after.
The food was good, although the desserts weren't as good as we thought they would be. The service was excellent.
Loved our dinner here! The staff was great and food was delicious.
The waitress was very friendly and professional. My husband and I loved the service. On the menu they need to put more variety like more seafood for dinner.
Everything was wonderful! The burger was amazing! I guess the only advise would be the wait staff assigned to us could have been more engaging with us; she looked new and timid.
District Winery, so the wine has to stand out. And it does. They buy grapes from regions around the US, and remake the classic flavors in vats onsite. To try their varieties, we ordered flights, and found the Melbec stood up the best to the variety of dishes we enjoyed. It has enough wine juiciness to marry the fruits in the dishes, enough body to stand boldly up to beef, and enough tannin to match the spicy. For two we ordered 3 small plates and a side of brussel sprouts and shared it all. It was more than enough food. The French Onion toast is essentially the well known soup deconstructed and rebuilt into an appetizer, with the short rib adding a wonderful layer of rich flavor and texture. This is how French Onion soup should be eaten! The scallops with pear and lemongrass, is essentially a delicate cerviche with a Thai twist. A nice refreshing plate to compliment the spicy Golden Beet Muhammara. This plate is a yellow beet chutney with pomegranate, toasted almonds, Aleppo chile, (pineapple?) and these candied lemons - which added a sprig of intense sour with sweet candy slowly melting into the dish. With flat bread to spoon it onto, it everything that is good about vegan eating. Finally, the brussel sprouts are pan fried at a high and charring temperature, seasoned perfectly - with a touch of honey for sweetness and pumpkin seed brittle for nuttiness. I could order this for lunch by itself. The service is impeccably modest. Recommendations, since it was our fist visit, were spot on (the muhammara, toast, and sprouts). Water glasses refilled without interrupting table conversation, empty plates and wine glasses quietly removed, enough check-ins to make sure we were comfortable, but not overly solicitous. There no space for a vineyard in DC, but District Winery is everything a visit to a winery should be. Great wine, great food, excellent atmosphere...and the view of the river doesn't hurt either!
The burger bun was burnt...all I could taste was the “char” on the bun. It was so bad that the burnt bread overpowered everything. I paid $17, and didn’t want to waste my food. Perhaps this place is only good for tapas? ...wines are still so I’ll be going to the wine tasting place for sure.
Stopped in for dinner while our daughter and her friends ate des a concert at The Anthem. We are wine enthusiasts who are particular about high/quality food. We found both the wine and the food to be outstanding. At the recommendation of the server, we ordered the lamb ribs as an appetizer followed by the Ribeye for two and crispy Brussels sprouts. Normally the beef comes with bread but since we are both gluten-free, the server said the chef would include the sprouts at no charge. We couldn’t happier with the quality of the food and service, of course the wine was also outstanding. We will definitely be back in the warmer weather to enjoy the beautiful waterfront patio.
This place is just okay. The food was lackluster, and the service was... immature. Beautiful scenery, but that’s about it.
A Christmas gift
The service was excellent. A great place for dinner.
great service, great food, too loud- acoustics need serious attention
We had a great time at the winery. The food is good, the wine was excellent and the vibe is very cool. Looking forward to coming back in the warm weather to take advantage of the patio and the view.
First time dining here and it was amazing! Will be back
We have been to Ana at District Winery several times and it never disappoints! Food is amazing and staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend to others!
Bad meal for restaurant week. Limited choices and poor wine pairing disappointed.
Great restaurant week dinner at Ana’s. Service was outstanding.
Had a great time. Brought my sister-in-law for a her first night visiting in DC. We had a great time and loved the food. Thank you for the great experience.
Very good wine and drinks. Food was good but not great. Ambience was very nice, with great views of the river.
Food and specialty cocktails were either a bit too contrived without much flavor or sad presentation. They specifically asked if there was a special occasion and was never recognized by our wait staff. Probably won't return.
Typically my wife and I do dinner dates on weekends but since it was restaurant week in DC, we switched it up by going out on a Wednesday. District Winery didn’t have any negatives but there weren’t any “Wow” factors either. Service was decent and attentive. The cocktails were tasty. I ordered the steak and though it’s flavor was good, there wasn’t much to it.
The Navy Yard area of DC is still being revamped so the exterior scenery was limited for a waterfront restaurant. Whenever the area designs are complete, I’m sure it will be much more to view.
Everything was superb! The food was amazing and the service was top notch! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
Quiet, romantic with serene beautiful view. Manager accommodated special requests. Service was impeccable- attentive without being intrusive. The menu is varied and unique. Signature drinks are delicious!
Wine was surprisingly good.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary (and New Years Eve) and it was the perfect spot to chill and enjoy some good food before bringing in the new year. The staff was super friendly and accommodating as our initial party of 4 continually grew to 5, 6, then 8 as more family joined us. They even passed out party favors, hats, an horns for us to celebrate the new year. We sat at the bar area as soon as you enter and I had the burger w/ garlic-truffle aioli (to die for!) and my husband ordered the meadow creek grayson cappelletti which is one of their veg plates - this was really good as well. Our server even brought out a dessert for us to celebrate our anniversary - so sweet! All in all, we had a wonderful celebration and evening at Ana.
New Years Eve
All good was great except the scallops weren’t! The wine was lovely. However we had an unpleasant experience with our server who essentially added 120 dollars on our bill and only after I queried it did she immediately admit she had added other items onto our bill. It upset me that she knew that she had done it as she immediately admitted it and then said she was sorry and would take the other wine etc. I still tipped her but felt this was a very unethical way to handle a situation. If she had came to us saying maybe it made a mistake let me just rectify this with the manager and you’ll be given your correct bill’ I would have been fine but it was her response and that baffled me and even afterwards she was more angry / upset (I assume incorrect items added are taken from salaries?) towards us. I would not go here again just because this experience upset me so much. She purposefully tried to ‘pull a fast one’ on us. Not cool!
Great setting looking out on the river. The Presidential portraits are a perfect convo starter. The food was different and well prepared and presented. terrific wine selection, as it should be.
Tried the duck for 2-3 and it was outstanding. Delicious, an excellent value for the price. Can't recommend it enough.
Fantastic as always! They made our anniversary dinner very special!
The food , drinks was delicious
Our meal was amazing! Nelson took great care of us, gave us great recommendations, and was super personable. The French onion toast, Brussels, ribeye steak, and truffle fries were spot on. We also loved that we could taste different wines before deciding on glasses or bottles! We will definitely be back and recommend to friends!!!
Good food and beautiful space.
I think District Winery is a great place to check out if you are down by the Navy Yard. I did the brunch special with my friend and we both enjoyed ourselves. The waiter was really nice and patient with us. I definitely recommend this spot.
Service was impeccable. Ambiance was very nice. We didn’t have any major issues aside from my companion not enjoying his food. The restaurant did all they could to accommodate us but the lamb ribs were all fat and the duck wings weren’t a fan favorite either. The roasted chicken and dessert were good. Wine selections were also good. I would recommend going but avoiding the lamb and duck. Good date spot and nice bar.
