I absolutely LOVE this place, but the prices are very high. Would go more often if I knew it wasn't going to be an automatic $100 even during happy hour. GREAT drinks!
Would definitely go back. Lawrence was a great waiter. Attentive but not hovering or bothersome. Drinks and food were amazing. Perfect ambience, not too loud. My only gripe, and that’s just because my eyes are bab, lol. A little dark to ready the menu.
We visited the District for a nice evening out in downtown San Jose for the first time. What a great experience! I tried the Whiskey Flight - Against the Grain - great way to try 3 different bourbons that are really different from each other. My wife tried the Wine Flight - Sweet & Jam Session - such a great way to try 3 similar but different wines. We also enjoyed a couple of small plates and shared a pizza. Great place for hanging out with friends - relaxed but cultured vibe. I would highly recommend!
Love the small share plates and music at this restaurant
Really great atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Not the best experience unfortunately. Disappointing
Had a great time. Food and drinks were delicious. Service was amazing!
The whiskey cheese and sausage are phenomenal the servers are very nice and the ambiance is a dream
Lawrence was an amazing server. The music was definitely the winner for me. Ambiance was perfect for our romantic date. I could not have asked for any better. Everything was perfect, for me at the very least. I’m also not high maintenance.
Great place. Food was excellent. Awesome bourbon menu.
I have been to district in sf, Oakland, and San Jose and I will say the food is consistently delicious and good quality! The wine flights are solid, food is always tasty, and although it can get a bit noisy the service is rock solid. Definitely recommend this spot!
Great food, good environment, would most definitely go back
Great food. Service was not. We waited a really long time after being seated and the hostess noticed we still didn’t have water or anything so she came over and took our order - both for drinks then later for food when we still hadn’t been waited on. When the waitress assigned to us finally came over she didn’t greet us, apologize, or smile she just said “need anything else” and seemed super annoyed to be waiting on us. The food was really tasty though, we really enjoyed all of our bites! If we had a different service experience would have given this 5 stars - ambiance and food were great.
My husband and I had an amazing dinner at this place very fun and of course the Food was Amazing
I highly recommend it the atmosphere is great and the place is very clean.
Went here prior to the Silicon Valley Auto Show. Not crowded; service was indifferent. Food was decent, though overpriced even though we realized they were small plates. Overall, a “meh” experience.
Enjoyed the food, tried a bunch of things. All were pretty good. Specialty drinks were great. Service was good, but we weren't in a hurry. Spent too much money, but had a very enjoyable evening.
Good cocktails, great ambience
When we arrived no one was at the front at the hostess station to seat us so we decided to sit at the bar for the night. Bartenders were great! Food was great!
Creative dishes with great deal of selections of spirits. Love the decor., ambience, and location. Will love to come back sometime soon.
Great tapas and fun atmosphere. Bar is well stocked and drinks are well designed.
Live this place. It’s my go to place for drinks and quick bite.
Never been to this place before, really enjoyed it for a dinner with friends before a concert at the SAP Center. Food was all delicious, drinks were great, I will definitely be back. The vibe of the place was sort of quiet, which I liked. In spite of the restaurant being pretty busy on a rainy Saturday night, it almost had more of an intimate feel which we all noted and enjoyed.
Group of 10 made a reservation and everything went well. Great service food was tasty lots to choose from.
Great for groups, especially if everyone is comfortable sharing.
Warm burrata wasn't warm so they comped it even though we offered to pay for it given we ate it.
Rest of the food was great as always.
Service was ok as usual, they need to pay attention to their customers better
Had the glazed bone marrow, beef sliders and fried avocado - all were excellent. Loved that chili salt on the avocados. Delicious craft cocktails as well.
Great Tapas place!
Food is delicious, cocktails so-so.
Great also for after hours business or team meetings.
Service was a little slow, especially for drinks. Seemed to be under staffed.
It was a good dinner and a quiet night
We ate at the bar
It was a great first time, awesome hostess and wait staff
Our server, Lawrence, absolutely made the evening! My girlfriend was visiting and we found the District last minute. The food and service was exceptional! I’ll definitely be back!
The experience was great. Service was limited and a little slow but the girl was new so I understood. The menu that was shown on Open Table, mainly the part of the bottomless mimosas, was outdated so it wasn’t offered.
Worst service we ever got!!
I ordered a drink from the waitress that never came. Then I went to the bar and ordered the drink two times. First time the bartender took my order and disappeared.
When we paid the check, surprise, surprise: they lost my friend’s credit card!!! The card was no one to be found. His wife, smart enough, went to the bar and asked them to check. No one from the staff thought of checking the bar. Mysteriously, the card he had just used to pay for the check ended up at the bar and it was never returned to the table. Drinks are expensive, so are the food.
I have always enjoyed coming to The District when it is a small group of me and my friends or an intimate date night. Service has always been on point. But this past weekend, I decided to throw a surprise party for my better half, and after Saturday's experience, I would not recommend throwing a party there. Everything was going great, from making the reservations, to requesting the lounge area. I had a party of 10 but the waitress that assisted us made it apparent that she was not happy to be working. She rarely came to our area to check on if we even wanted to order more, nor did she or anyone come to clear out empty glasses and plates. The waitress was so rude that my guest can see it all over her face. As they ask her questions of what they have on tap her response was, "Is it on the menu?" and as they reviewed the menu some of us had commented how she looked so annoyed. Okay I know that the menu is there for us to look at, but she could have been more courteous in her words. And when they stated it is not, her response was "Well then we don't have it". Even as we order, she would write the order down and quickly turn away to leave but we would have to catch her to stay as other wanted to order. It just left a bad taste with my guests.
Had been there for a Happy Hour and went back for a brunch. The food was really good and parking is very convenient across the street.
Nice place and friendly staff. Issues for us, we had a party of 8 and a baby. Food took a long time to come out even though there were only a few other diners.
No one came by to check on or refill drinks.
Food came out wrong twice for one entree and portions were small. Server didn’t know how many pieces came in the small plates orders.
Food price is very steep.
Good for cocktails but probably wouldn’t go back for a meal.
Our waiter was excellent.
TY Lawrence! Great suggestions and great service! Was on a date and there was no way I could look bad with the server helping me out the way he did!
Thought it would be buffet based on website but was sit down. Still tasty though
Another couple, my wife and myself decided to meet up for an early dinner and drinks and I chose The District since I had walked by numerous times and had never been. Went on Open Table and bookd a 6:15 reservation. When we arrive we asked to sit outside and were told our reservation was for inside. Open Table did not have an option to ask for outside seating but ok. There was a 4 top open outside but we were told it was being held for some people having a drink at the bar. That’s sitting at the bar not just waiting for their drinks. Ok no problem. We were then led to a table in the absolute rear of the restaurant walking past at least 10 vacant tables. After being seated we didn’t like the table as it was a beautiful evening and we wanted to move closer to the front. My wife walked over and asked the hostess if we could be moved and was told “I’m sorry, all those tables are reserved”. As I said we had a reservation. No where did I have a chance to choose where our table would be located when I made a reservation so I find it hard to believe anyone else arriving after us would have a specific table either. We then decided we would take our business elsewhere and I did tell the hostess as we left “we are going to go somewhere else and thank you for being so accommodating” to which she smiled.
We ended up at Firehouse #1 where we spend over $250 for food and drinks. I can’t imagine this is how they train their people to deal with customers. I emailed the restaurant about my experience and did not hear back.
