Had been there for a Happy Hour and went back for a brunch. The food was really good and parking is very convenient across the street.
Nice place and friendly staff. Issues for us, we had a party of 8 and a baby. Food took a long time to come out even though there were only a few other diners.
No one came by to check on or refill drinks.
Food came out wrong twice for one entree and portions were small. Server didn’t know how many pieces came in the small plates orders.
Food price is very steep.
Good for cocktails but probably wouldn’t go back for a meal.
Our waiter was excellent.
TY Lawrence! Great suggestions and great service! Was on a date and there was no way I could look bad with the server helping me out the way he did!
Thought it would be buffet based on website but was sit down. Still tasty though
Another couple, my wife and myself decided to meet up for an early dinner and drinks and I chose The District since I had walked by numerous times and had never been. Went on Open Table and bookd a 6:15 reservation. When we arrive we asked to sit outside and were told our reservation was for inside. Open Table did not have an option to ask for outside seating but ok. There was a 4 top open outside but we were told it was being held for some people having a drink at the bar. That’s sitting at the bar not just waiting for their drinks. Ok no problem. We were then led to a table in the absolute rear of the restaurant walking past at least 10 vacant tables. After being seated we didn’t like the table as it was a beautiful evening and we wanted to move closer to the front. My wife walked over and asked the hostess if we could be moved and was told “I’m sorry, all those tables are reserved”. As I said we had a reservation. No where did I have a chance to choose where our table would be located when I made a reservation so I find it hard to believe anyone else arriving after us would have a specific table either. We then decided we would take our business elsewhere and I did tell the hostess as we left “we are going to go somewhere else and thank you for being so accommodating” to which she smiled.
We ended up at Firehouse #1 where we spend over $250 for food and drinks. I can’t imagine this is how they train their people to deal with customers. I emailed the restaurant about my experience and did not hear back.
Food quality is very good and a decent wine selection. This is a fun place for happy hour with a group. I would have referred a bit more frequent check-ins from our waitress, but overall the service was pretty good.
NIce, busy place...with an excellent array of unique cocktails and, important for me, a strong list of bourbons. The tapas were excellent. I only wish that they had 3-4 entrees: I was starving, my wife was happy with tapas. We stayed, I starved: the only entree was a small steak (I'm trying to reduce my footprint by reducing my meat intake). IOW: its a good, fun place for tapas and drinks.
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on our date night and loved the food and wine selections! It’s a good place to go for that wine tasting room feel and very inviting bar experience
Jenna our server was fantastic! She had great drink and food recommendations . We will be back!
Every single item that my group of seven ate was amazing.
we had the asparagus salad- just ok, the lamb meatballs- very yummy, the fried green beans- soggy but ok, and the hanger steak- just ok. Server was great, wine was good. Decor is nice- love the bar shape. Music was too loud to converse easily.
Good ambience and vibe, nice patio seating. Our server was busy, but excellent in communication that compensated it.
Food is also decent, but little overpriced; well, SJ price, I must understand.
Overall, nice place to have casual drinking get together, I’ll go back again.
For the table setting and more bar type of place it is, I won’t use even for a casual business dinner, tho.
Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and cocktails. Started off very attentive but did trail off. There wasn't much on the menu we didn't like, great wine selection, and everyone around us was speaking a different language. Enjoyed my time there and will possibly return as the pricepoint was leaning towards the pricier side.
A very nice restaurant with great food and wine. Not a big fan of the raised tables and chairs as regular seating. But will come back!
Great new brunch menu and carafe mimosa options!!!
Waited for a long time before coffee was brought out for brunch, then another 30+ min. when the food finally arrived lukewarm, it was the wrong order.
Great drinks, but subpar food.
Very good, good attention to detail in preparing the food.
We had to wait about 15 minutes on each drink ordered. This is a wine/whiskey place so drinks should be served In due time especially when it's not crowded. They hostess just couldn't smile. I think that's a major negative. We didn't feel welcome. The food was good. The drinks were good but the greeting and time taking for the drinks to show up was just unacceptable.
One of my top spots! They have both great drinks and food and the service is impeccable. Very friendly staff and I would recommend to a friend in a heartbeat!
Our waiter was a Amazing!
We booked a small private party here on a Monday night. The service was top notch all the way around. Our server, Andre was on his game and accommodated several special requests. Rachel helped coordinate our event and did an awesome job for us. Food was amazing. We had several small plates, which was perfect for sharing with the group. We had Bourbon and Wine flights as well. One in our group was a Tequilla drinker, so the bar created a Tequilla flight for us as well. Overall great night! We enjoyed it so much, we came back the next night for some after dinner drinks. Would definitely go back next time we are in town.
The food is very good and the place is fun. The service, however, was very poor. We have been here before and not had this problem, so I don't know what was going on this time. It took 25 minutes for our drinks to come to the table. Because we were beginning to get worried about time, we ordered the food when the waiter brought the drinks. The 1st dinner came in about 15-20 minutes, but the 2nd & 3rd dinner didn't come for another 20 minutes, and our last dinner was 20 minutes after that. This means that one of our party had to wait 40 minutes after our 1st person was served. All dinners should come out at the same time! And this was after we repeatedly asked the waiter where our food was. There was a disconnect somewhere! Monday night at 6:00 should not have been an unusually busy time.
Food was savory and drinks were great! The servers are attentive and knowledgeable
Great food and ambiance. Would recommend going there again.
Great ambiance, cool drink menu, tapa styled food - good for date night or out with a group of fancy friends.
Great food! Great service! Great Mimosa’s!!! Would definitely recommend!!
Great happy hour menu and fun ambiance. Perfect for pre-concert snacks and drinks.
We had a group get together after work, District turned out to be perfect location. We had reservations as were seated promptly and moments later a servers greeted us with water, our server for the evening arrived and explained the drink and appetizer menu, we order drinks and shortly thereafter received our drinks and order appetizers. The evening continued for 3 hours will always attentive service. Would definitely recommend for a casual evening out as a group or as a couple
Good food and great service. They also had the Sharks game on which made it a more fun atmosphere. Food is always good. I just wish there was some friend catfish or some offering for fish only eaters. Lots of meat, even in the greens which I couldn't eat.
Excellent service. Loved that our server was a foodie. Fresh and unique menu.
We were there for after-work drinks and dinner. I really enjoyed the ambiance and my guests did as well- open and airy, nice lighting, exposed brick and wood- nice touches. The service was awesome and friendly. The food was very good, we had many of the dishes- marrow, oysters, steak, lamb chops, and many more. All very good.
I highly recommend and will return.
The food is excellent and love the atmosphere, but the service is very slow and the cocktails were very sugary and you barely notice there is alcohol.
Sunday lunch with husband and fur babies.
Got stuck with brunch buffet. No other choices.
Food is just ok. $22 pp Budget friendly to most people considering you are in downtown San Jose.
Service is slow but nice/polite guys.
OJ is straight from a box. Not fresh.
Bloody Mary is a no go.
Voss sparkling water is our favorite. Surprise they are serving Voss.
One advantage is dog friendly patio but it’s very dusty and full of debris.
Speakers are loud.
Will we return? Very unlikely.
Nice hip place to gather with friends. There are plenty of sharing plates so there’s something for everyone. Would recommend Brussels!
pretty good bar atmosphere and nice outdoor seating
Slow service, food mediocre, small wine and beer measures. No atmosphere, not value for money.
Great place for happy hour food and drinks. Nice and chic ambiance, however, the service is not the best. Even with reservations, they didn't seem accommodating. The food is okay, and not a big fan of the wine on tap.
