The food was delicious, the outdoor dining was warm and pleasant and the waiter was the perfect amount of attentive and very friendly.

Menu is limited. Happy hour had a very limited selection. Nice ambiance. I would have liked more attention but our first waitress was nice. They were rolling out heaters noisily instead of being set up prior to people arriving--it was distracting.

Get the fried chicken sliders! I could eat two portions, they were so good! Great drink selection and happy waitstaff. I like this place and will be back!

Always good food and service

The quality of the food and drink is quite good. It seems like staff brings alcohol very quickly but food did not match it. Maybe they need to get some more kitchen staff. Otherwise it was top quality.

Very good food and overall good dining experience. Outdoor on the patio with the street shut down due to Covid. Shrimp and wings appetizers were really good, I had a hanger steak that was outstanding. The only bummer was that I was wearing a black face mask and took it off to eat. When they bused the tables at the end of the meal, they took my mask (the napkins were black, so they likely thought it was a napkin). I had strange looks at me when I had to walk back to my car, like, "where's your mask?"

My wife and I visited the District restaurant a couple of times before the pandemic and now a couple of times during. It’s a great restaurant! To accommodate the current pandemic rules, they expanded the outdoor seating. In addition to its original sidewalk seating, there’s also seating now in the entire street in front of the restaurant now closed to traffic. Other restaurants have done the same and the entire block has a festive atmosphere.

The food and service is exceptional. Our server, Kayla, attended us on our last two visits. She has an engaging personality, is very knowledgeable of the restaurant’s offerings, and very attentive.

She suggested we start with the ORGANIC GREENS avocado, shaved radish & cucumber, spiced sunflower seeds, and champagne-citrus vinaigrette. It’s a really delicious salad, and the watermelon radish sliced very thinly is a wonderful addition.

Her other suggestion was the fried chicken sliders with pickled Fresno chili cole slaw and spiced honey rémoulade. Fantastic!! There are two sliders (larger than the typical slider buns) with fat real chicken meat extra juicy on the inside and crispy coated outside tasting like real fried chicken. I think they’re done sous vide but I didn’t confirm it. The slaw, chili’s, and rémoulade complement the chicken with just the right hint of spice from the chilis. Wow!
On the first trip my wife and I each had a full order but we shared one order the second time as they are quite filling; although I would have eaten a second one if it was on my plate! I tried the oysters on the second visit ( since I’d get only one only one slider) which came with a mignonette sauce. Also delish.

I washed it all down with a Turley Zinfandel.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Btw, all the servers which we encountered here were really good.

The food was fresh and delicious. We loved the tempura avocado so much we had to order more. Highly recommend District to anyone looking for a date night or a night out with friends.

Fun place to hang out and they have a nice happy hour. Wish the plexiglass extended to the sidewalk side for the outdoor seating.

I absolutely LOVE this place, but the prices are very high. Would go more often if I knew it wasn't going to be an automatic $100 even during happy hour. GREAT drinks!

Would definitely go back. Lawrence was a great waiter. Attentive but not hovering or bothersome. Drinks and food were amazing. Perfect ambience, not too loud. My only gripe, and that’s just because my eyes are bab, lol. A little dark to ready the menu.

We visited the District for a nice evening out in downtown San Jose for the first time. What a great experience! I tried the Whiskey Flight - Against the Grain - great way to try 3 different bourbons that are really different from each other. My wife tried the Wine Flight - Sweet & Jam Session - such a great way to try 3 similar but different wines. We also enjoyed a couple of small plates and shared a pizza. Great place for hanging out with friends - relaxed but cultured vibe. I would highly recommend!

Lawrence was an amazing server. The music was definitely the winner for me. Ambiance was perfect for our romantic date. I could not have asked for any better. Everything was perfect, for me at the very least. I’m also not high maintenance.

I have been to district in sf, Oakland, and San Jose and I will say the food is consistently delicious and good quality! The wine flights are solid, food is always tasty, and although it can get a bit noisy the service is rock solid. Definitely recommend this spot!

Great food, good environment, would most definitely go back

Great food. Service was not. We waited a really long time after being seated and the hostess noticed we still didn’t have water or anything so she came over and took our order - both for drinks then later for food when we still hadn’t been waited on. When the waitress assigned to us finally came over she didn’t greet us, apologize, or smile she just said “need anything else” and seemed super annoyed to be waiting on us. The food was really tasty though, we really enjoyed all of our bites! If we had a different service experience would have given this 5 stars - ambiance and food were great.

Went here prior to the Silicon Valley Auto Show. Not crowded; service was indifferent. Food was decent, though overpriced even though we realized they were small plates. Overall, a “meh” experience.

Enjoyed the food, tried a bunch of things. All were pretty good. Specialty drinks were great. Service was good, but we weren't in a hurry. Spent too much money, but had a very enjoyable evening.

Good cocktails, great ambience

When we arrived no one was at the front at the hostess station to seat us so we decided to sit at the bar for the night. Bartenders were great! Food was great!

Creative dishes with great deal of selections of spirits. Love the decor., ambience, and location. Will love to come back sometime soon.

Never been to this place before, really enjoyed it for a dinner with friends before a concert at the SAP Center. Food was all delicious, drinks were great, I will definitely be back. The vibe of the place was sort of quiet, which I liked. In spite of the restaurant being pretty busy on a rainy Saturday night, it almost had more of an intimate feel which we all noted and enjoyed.

Group of 10 made a reservation and everything went well. Great service food was tasty lots to choose from.

Great for groups, especially if everyone is comfortable sharing.

Warm burrata wasn't warm so they comped it even though we offered to pay for it given we ate it.

Rest of the food was great as always.

Had the glazed bone marrow, beef sliders and fried avocado - all were excellent. Loved that chili salt on the avocados. Delicious craft cocktails as well.
