We were very happy with our first visit! The food was delicious, from appetizers to main course. The staff was friendly and professional. My nephew said he liked the bar, too. Great evening!
Good value for the Happy Hour drinks. Food was top notch.
Strive has a lot to be desired. We sat outside waiter did not ask if anyone needed water , way too lone for him to serve us. Did not remember to bring additional wine ordered until reminded. Also, when asked if the hold up for the food was due to backup in the kitchen, he said yes the kitchen. However, he did not ask if there was something he could get us in the meantime.
After we were seated I received a call to see if we were coming for our 7:00 reservation, I told them we had already been seated outside.
The waiter in my view was not trained at all in customer service- real disappointing that it took 2 hours for our party of 3 to get out as of the restaurant . An hour should have been sufficient—
Too bad we had an hour less to visit the Smithsonian Zoo due to how painfully long we had to wait for our dinner.’
Good thing we are good friends and lots to talk about as we waited.
Impeccable service for our large group along with incredible food and lots of shareable dishes made District Kitchen perfect for our after-conference gathering.
Great service and food was cooked perfect, thanks!!
Excellent service! Our waiter was awesome! This was the third time at the restaurant and the service was consistently excellent!
The music was a little loud...lively, but loud for our taste
The service was great! The food was outstanding! Everyone was courteous! I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant!
Great neighborhood spot. Excellent food. Nice selection
Favorite spot on Connecticut Avenue! The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the food is delicious! We were there for Saturday brunch and everything we ordered was great - waffle, burger, egg and avocado sandwich. Prices are reasonable, less than most of their neighbors. Great ambiance, both inside and out. We've never been disappointed. The best part is the friendly staff - they make everyone feel right at home.
Loved the vibe ... food .. set up ... really help full ... great cocktails... hubby said it was the best burger he had ever had
Good food and decent service. The place felt a bit outdated (the bench cushion cover was falling apart, filthy bathroom floor, etc) but overall not a bad spot for everyday dining or casual get-togethers on weekends.
Great service- personable staff.
Excellent food and service! You will not be disappointed!!
In all fairness it was late, kitchen closing in 15 minutes but there was almost nothing left on the menu.
They probably shouldn’t have sat us.
We left and had a spectacular dinner at Morton’s Steak House.
I perfect ending to a potential disastrous evening.
Solid dining option near the Marriott Wardman Park
We enjoyed 2 meals at district this week. Dinner and lunch the next day. Our waiter was greater, interactive and knowledgeable about the menu. For dinner, we each had a variety of different dishes and all were delicious. Salmon with a side of brussel sprouts, paella, and salads for dinner, burgers and fries for lunch. The place was definitely buzzing with activity and a bit loud on the inside. Overall, a great experience.
Excellent food options at reasonable prices. Great service. I will go back.
Great selection of interesting dishes, most offering full and half portions for fare prices.
Food is divine. Service was excellent. Your taste buds will thank you! Chef is absolutely incredible.
It is all about the food. Incredible flavours. Exceptionally prepared. Had the Burrata and Tomato salad and spicy cauliflower to start. The salmon main dish with butter beans and kale was to die for. Highly recommended!
Great service, great food. A little noisy.
Don't come here during the busy brunch time. We were seated at 12:15pm and were not acknowledged until about 12:40 pm. Even then, a food runner just filled out water glasses. After I made a comment that we had been waiting a very long time, our server finally arrived at about 12:50pm and didn't apologize for the wait. He just asked for our drink orders. We let him know we were also ready to order our food. Finally our drinks and food arrived, and the restaurant started to empty. The food runner continued to fill our drinks and was the only saving grace for our brunch. We never saw our waiter again. Food was good, and the food runner did his best, but the waiter's unapologetic poor service really left us wanting more. There are better spots in the city with better service, but this was close to the zoo which was our plan for the day. Overall, it was an average experience that started out very poorly and gradually improved thanks to the bottomless mimosas served by the food runner (and not our actual waiter).
The Mahi Mahi special was delicious. We had three different people wait on us so it was difficult to tell who to ask for refills etc. Service was average. Would recommend.
Always enjoy myself here while in DC Wardman Park area. Great happy hour from 5 to 7! Also they have an amazing 3 course prix fixe for $35 ,including starter, main entree, and dessert or 2 cheeses. Great bartender with great service!
Great friendly affordable spot for dining with a neighborhood feel. Unusual flavors brought together in many of the dishes in a refreshing delicious way. Their prix fixe menu was a steal. Will be back!
Excellent food at a great price. They were down a server but were able to cover it for the most part. They even gave us a round of drinks on the house due to the wait. Staff was friendly and courteous even though they were running around with a full dining room
I am celiac gluten free. Our waiter was very attentive to my needs. Food selection was gluten free extensive and very well prepared. Restaurant was lovely
Great casual dining place in the heart of Woodley Park. Cozy dining room with a place for outdoor seating on a nice day. Service was great, friendly and not overbearing. Hot tea was on the menu but they didn't have any which was a small disappointment. Otherwise, solid food options and tastes.
Can’t recommend this place enough! Our server Jacobo was super invested in us having a great time, and went out of his way to refill our drinks, make sure we liked everything, and give us suggestions. Had the blueberry mojito (very tasty), the sweet and sour cauliflower (was expecting a bit more flavor, but the portion size was surprisingly large for a small plate), and the Pumpkin Spiced Risotto, which is maybe the best thing I’ve ever eaten - creamy with goat cheese and dried cranberries that perfectly accent it; So fuxking good. Plus, one of the bartenders knew we were going out later in the night, so he gave us two free rounds of shots! Nice people and an overall amazing dinner!
A pleasant and personality-laden restaurant with absolutely delicious food! Fresh and flavorful- the sautéed and garlicky broccoli was perfect texture and the broth of the mussels - which were also just-right texture- was bursting with tangy tidbits. Highly recommended!
Outdoors on a beautiful spring day, District Kitchen was perfect. The muscles are the best around. Great steak frites as well.
Great food amd great service. We took some out-of-town guests there and they loved it. We will be back!
I’ve always had prompt service, but on this occasion had to wait a hour for entree; also a problem for another party I know; waiter made it right with a free glass of wine!
Happy Hour prices brought us from our SIOR conference at the Omni. We stayed for dinner on the patio. Food was excellent and atmosphere casual
We live in the neighborhood, so we've eaten here before. This time was different. There was about a 30 minute gap between removal of the appetizer plates and the arrival of the entrees (the restaurant wasn't overly busy). My pan-seared shrimp certainly didn't look pan-seared, hard to tell how they'd been cooked; the polenta, sausage and salsa were all mixed together -- don't think that's the idea.
Great service, great food and a kids menu too! Made for a nice night out for adults and kids too.
I ordered the pasta and mushroom and it was very oily but tasted good. The oiliness was a downer. We sat outside so noise wasn’t a big deal but inside was very loud when I went to the restroom. It would have been hard to sit inside for the entire meal. Our server wasn’t attentive and would walk away while we were ordering. Just annoying.
Food was excellent, and ambience was hip. Cocktails were good too. We just had really poor service by one particular waiter who seemed like it was a chore to listen to us or answer any questions. That was the only downside but it was a big one.
The service left a little to be desired (for one, we stood at the entrance for nearly 5 minutes before any of the many employees standing nearby acknowledged us at all). However the food was incredible and well priced. Would definitely go back based on the food, and would recommend to others.
I seldom order a burger but when I splurge I expect it to come as I ordered especially at $16.00. The burger was over cooked and no cheese as I specifically ordered. Very disappointed. My dining companion ordered the salmon dish and told me it was excellent.
