loved District, they offer half sizes and the Specials were amazing! great Key lime pie!!
I think the restaurant was slightly overwhelmed with the 4,000 person conference held down the block. They were busy but the restaurant honored our reservation in a timely fashion. The tuna poke appetizer was amazing. We received our main meal after an extended amount of time but the restaurant provided us with two desserts on the house to compensate. My one big complaint were the brussel sprouts. I have had this before and it was delicious but this time they were nauseatingly sweet. When this was shared with our waiter, he made a political joke something to the effect, “blame it on the border wall”. Not that I mind political rhetoric, it’s just that I would have preferred that he take the dish back and offer us a replacement.
It took about ten minutes to be waited on and our table was wobbly. We asked a few times if it could get fixed. The table next to us got fixed instead. Anyhow, the waiter finally came through and we could eat without worry of plates and food falling off the table. The noise level was quite loud due to a large party there for a birthday. All that being said, the food was very good, the three course special is a great value and my friends and I really enjoyed catching up with each other. I do recommend District Kitchen for its great food and drinks. Hopefully our negatives were just unique for that night.
Everything was wonderful !
We were never served our main courses, despite waiting for more than an hour. A complete lack of attention and professionalism from the waiter made our experience at District Kitchen terrible. We will not be returning and would caution others to avoid going here.
This is my go to restaurant in DC. Their mussels are my favorite anywhere. I ordered a half portion for my 12 year old not knowing how they would be received but she has mentioned several times since that she needs a full order next time.
Great appetizers and we were afraid the main courses might underwhelm, but they were great!
For drinks I would recommend, not really worth the money for the half plate small portions
Great Salmon dish
Comfy little place with good food. Our server was even able to accommodate a picky 11 year old.
My husband and I are visiting from out of town and was told to visit this restaurant. Was very pleased with service and the food, that came out. Our entrees never came out after our appetizers and salads. I believe they were just busy and forgot to put it in. But it’s okay because we were full after everything and the manager on duty was very helpful and gave us a discount for the mistake. I would still highly suggest this place to other people.
Great food, great atmosphere. Decent prices. We were there for brunch and enjoyed our dishes (Omelette and Brisket Hash).
The restaurant was closed “for an event” even though they took my reservation. Had to scramble for another option and the neighboring restaurants were full due to an event nearby.
Excellent as usual!
The food and service were excellent!
Great food, friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere at very reasonable prices
Great for brunch with friends! Food is amazing.
Mehhh nothing to write home about. Slow slow service.
We loved our meal ! Lots to taste and share, helpful staff about what to order and most importantly, the food and cocktails were delicious!
Great food with unusual twists; half portions available; prices very reasonable. What’s not to like?
Get the cauliflower. Delicious. The halibut was also cooked just right. My guest had the paella and kept eating it long after he was full!
Went to District Kitchen after visiting Zoo Lights. Service was a little slow, but very friendly. The wine and beer choices were good, the menu offered diverse choices. We started with the risotto balls, which were very tasty. My girlfriend had the chicken Tikka, which she said was very good. I had the flat iron steak frites. Steak was cooked perfect medium rare and the fries were from fresh potatoes. A very good meal in a nice atmosphere.
The food was creatively prepared and the portions were very generous.
Food was ok not great, service was fine, overall ok place for eating. Not great kind of meh.
First visit was incredible. Fast friendly service and the best strip steak and risotto on the planet! Apps were great as well. Thanks District Kitchen
Great food in a welcoming environment. Comfort food creatively prepared.
Great food but the rudest server I've ever had. I'll change tables rather than be served by him again.
Floors were a bit sticky.
Tea that I ordered never arrived.
One description said this was an “upscale” venue, so I selected it for a business meal. I would not consider this an upscale restaurant, but the food was good.
Food was good, service was good but the noise level was too high for my taste. Were we sat got cold whenever the outside door opened, make sure to sit away from the entrance.
Although the food & Service were good, I would not go out of my way to return for another meal.
Quaint restaurant in a nice location. The food and drinks were good. I had the daily special and every item on my plate was delicious! The staff was kind but the service was a little below par. Would definitely recommend the food and as states the staff was very kind just could be more organized and attentive.
Food was really good and was seated immediately with reservation. The only thing was the service was really bad. We didn't seem to have a dedicated waiter/waitress, and it was a challenge to get someone's attention. After receiving the menu, it took forever to get someone over to the table. After food arrived, nobody came around and asked us how the food was, do we need anything, just one person refilling water. Ordering the prix-fixe menu that came with dessert, our finished entrees were taking away, and then once again nobody came to us to show us the desert menu, or ask if we wanted anything else. Had to wave my hand in the air to grab someone. The people next to us were also commenting on the lack of service, and ultimately both our tables had to have this reflected on the tip. Great food, and therefore would consider again, but there needs to be better service or dedicated waiter/waitress per table that checks in with you.
We frequent restaurants for business purposes and my staff and visitors were very impressed with this restaurant. We would recommend to other departments throughout the hospital. Thank you keep doing what you do.
Absolutely delicious-shrimp polenta dish! Reasonably priced and great service!
Food was delicious. The salmon was amazing. Portions were very generous. Definitely going back.
Tried to escape the rain ...
Impromptu lunch place. What a cute find! Charming service. Cozy feel. Nice comfort food. Lovely. Would return when in the area. Wicked cup of coffee!! That’s always a BIG PLUS!!
The menu was somewhat limited, but six of us were all able to find something we could eat. Very “family friendly” at this time of year — with people going to, or coming from, the light show at the National Zoo
Had beet salad and the salmon with a few drinks. Fine, attentive service. Food was very good. In town for business. Good choice.
we had a good time with my kids and niece that was visiting from Miami
I made a reservation for 5 people. 2 in my party showed up first and the host couldn't find the reservation when either of them asked. Then they sat us at a 4-top that had little wings that flip up to make it a tiny circle right by the front door. Meanwhile a larger table sat empty for most of our meal until a walk-in party of 4 was seated there. Our waiter walks up and asks if we want to order food before we'd ordered drinks. He was friendly but service wasn't awesome. Food was good but not great. I don't think we would go back TBH.
