Food was amazing ... service a little slow. Worst is the hostess at 11:45 ... we arrived a 45 mins before our reservation didn’t sit us bc we were early. ( although there were open table available ) she is very unfriendly ... not a good hostess :(
First time for brunch, just as much of a winner as dinner!
Would absolutely suggest taking friends and family!
Thank you so much! Hope to see you again soon.
Wide open space not too loud. Bottomless mimosa and Bloody Mary for brunch. Food was good
Went there for lunch on a weekday with a reservation. They do a 3 course meal for flat price, it took just over 30 minutes to get our appetizers. Once we reached an hour, we gave up on the main course and dessert as it was a weekday and we had to return to work. Just as we were settling up, at about an hour and ten minutes, they brought our main course. At that point we were all so frustrated we just left it on the table. Bottom line: we paid for a 3 course lunch, only received appetizers, and lost about an hour and a half of our lives. Service was slow, unapologetic, and generally couldn’t have cared less that it took entirely too long.
The salmon was excellent and the crime brûlée luscious. Great lunch during Winter Restaurant Week!
The Atlantic Salnon was great as was the creme brulee. The server was attentive without being in your face.
We had been to the District Commons for brunch a few months back and enjoyed it very much. Consequently, we decided to try it after a theatre matinee. For 5 o'clock, it was already crowd and noisy. It was restaurant week, but we were surprised that the special entrees for the week were particularly exotic. None of the desserts were of interest, so we asked if we could substitute. Our waitress said no, so, much to our disappointment we abandoned the restaurant week menu and ordered a la carte. My crab cakes were okay, my wife's salmon was small but all right. We were somewhat disappointed and will consider it only for lunch from now on.
Always good value. Very busy at lunch time. Server was most attentive. Food was very good. We had the corn and crab chowder, salmon, and hamburger with fries. Dessert as well. Never a complaint.
Even though the lunch business was winding down services was very slow, so as not to say disinterested. If you want to have a quite conversation, this is not the place as it is very noisy. The food however is good and the lunch special a great deal.
AmaZing! Such great food and service. Bottomless brunch is a must!
Thanks for joining us for DC's best bottomless brunch! Hope to see you again soon!
Very good all around family meal
Early supper before the theatre. Server knew the menu well and guided me to the duck which was phenomenal. My eating partner is a vegetarian and lots of options. Nice and fun vibe.
Thank you! Hope you can join us again soon!
sub par experience at best. Food was over priced, waiter kept forgetting about us despite the fact that it wasn’t crazy busy. Would suggest saving your money and going elsewhere.
New year eve and our waitress was 70 plus years old and absolutely did not want to be there, questions asked her response was " exactly how it is written on the menu " employees were too busy popping new year balloons across the restaurant trying to scare each other. food was not explained properly therefore we order something we did not know how it is going to come, sure it was not how it was described. sad NYE for us.
Tasty contemporary menu, elegantly casual ambiance, great energy, very pleasant and helpful staff. We absolutely enjoyed our New Years Eve dinner before going to the Kennedy Center. Festive and fun dinner.
Thanks for your kind words! Hope to see you again soon!
The service was outstanding. Our waiter was attentive and made excellent recommendations. The food was delicious well prepared and was well timed.
Thanks for joining us for DC's favorite bottomless brunch! Hope to see you again soon!
We had a few issues with the restaurant being out of some items we wanted, but other than that the experience was very positive. The food was excellent and very fairly priced.
Always love this restaurant – great menu with lots of options, delicious food, and bright airy space.
Excellent restaurant. Great ambiance and service. Good for any occasion.
District Commons is a fine restaurant. The food is good and well prepared, but not exceptional. The ambiance is nice. They have a wide range of drinks. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable. But the food doesn’t really live up to the prices charged. A bit overpriced for the quality you get.
Pre-theater dinner with daughter. Fried green tomato with shrimp appetizer was bland, mixed salad overdressed. Pasta with mushrooms and mussels with bacon and bleu cheese were very good. Cocktails well made. Service by Jessica was terrific. Overall solid meal, price expensive but comparable for downtown DC.
Thanks for your feedback - we will let our chefs know about your comments. Happy holidays, hope you can visit us again soon!
Bacon fig pizza would be better with small crunchy bacon instead of thick fatty bacon lardons. Wish your table would be ready when you arrive. Always have to wait.
The check-in area by the host stand is rather awkward and small - not a great place for people waiting for tables, or just coming in from the cold and waiting to speak to the host. There was also a group of people trying to get their coats from the coat-check, and it was just not the best arrangement. Everything else was fantastic!
Theater at Kennedy center . Seated us quickly and took our order promptly , served us and we had more than adequate time to make the show
Thanks for joining us at DC's fave pre-theater spot! Hope to see you again soon.
Very nice American restaurant with it's own specialities.
Thanks for your kind review, hope you can join us again soon!
This is our go-to place before or after a performance at the Kennedy Center. We have introduced friends to it and it's always a hit. Great food and service. Highly recommended!
Thanks for your kind words! We hope you can visit us again soon!
Our server was excellent and the meal extremely tasty. Very noisy atmosphere but great Georgetown location.
Thanks for you kind words! We hope next time we can accommodate you in a quieter spot, please let us know when you make your reservation or come in!
The food was very good, but the service was sllllooowwww. Reservation was at 6:00, didn't get our food until almost 7:00.
Exceptionally loud at 8pm on a Friday, cannot stress enough. Most dishes ok. Poorly cut ham on "Pig Plate" with bones and inconsistent thickness.
Joy was a delightful server. Food was good. Ambiance is great. But the noise from the huge party in the bar area detracted from our enjoyment.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Next time ask us for a quieter table and we will do out best to accomodate you!
Excellent food and service. The place was LOUD! Great location
Thanks for your feedback! Please let us know next time, we'd like to make sure you get a quieter spot. Thanks again!
District Commons is always a great choice. The time and care they put into staff training is evident by their knowledge and the quality of service.
I had to schedule a last-minute happy hour with colleagues and couldn't rely on open seats at the bar alone.
We sat at a table and had a few drinks and the (delicious!) pretzel, but didn't share a full meal. Our server, Oscar, was tremendous. Knowledgable of the menu, professional, and attentive even though our order was small. If I spot Oscar working when I visit next, I'll be sure to request a seat in his section.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are very proud of Oscar and our whole team. So glad you enjoyed and hope to see you again soon!
Good food, lovely service but very noisy. The restaurant should soften the space somehow, with baffles on the ceiling, perhaps, or upholstered chairs.
Thanks for you kind words about your dining - next time you visit please ask us for a 'quiet table' - we'd be happy to get you a quieter spot where you can enjoy!
Loved our visit to District Commons. Charming waiter who told us it was his third day on the job...he was very efficient and we were very impressed with him and, of course, the food and drink were excellent. Looking forward to our next visit!
Thanks for your kind review, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
I was meeting my friend after more than a year and District Commons with its interesting menu, laidback ambiance and level of service was the perfect place for a reunion! Thank you!
Thank YOU for enjoying your reunion with us! Hope you can join us again soon!
District Commons was wonderful and our server, Francesco, was amazing. What was really amazing was that it was his second night there. I would never have guessed, as he was superb!! We were there to celebrate an accomplishment, and we were not disappointed! Not sure why I haven't tried this restaurant before, as it will be a go to from now on!
Thank you so much for dining with us! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Great spot to catch up with GWU folks and a nice naturally lit space! Menu has a nice variety at a relatively low-to-mid level prices for DC. Perfect for a light lunch meeting and plenty to choose from if you're looking for something a little heavier! Certainly will be on my shortlist for lunch spots in DC!
Large hall like venue - with large tables.
Went for lunch on a weekday and was not too packed.
Quickish service, great flatbreads and mussels.
Right on Washington Circle near GWU
I had the seafood salad. Asked whether I could sub the salmon for something else. Was told I could have extra of the other seafood. I had three chopped up shrimp. And a tad bit of crab. I found two recognizable pieces. But it was tasty
The food was excellent. Service was terrific. What can I say...Bacon and Blue Cheese Mussels...wow!
Thanks for the great review of our mussels! Hope you can join us again soon!
