Need to book at 10:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Great service. The Louisiana omelet was amazing! Highly recommend it.
We went to District Commons for the Mardi Gras Jazz Brunch. The live jazz band, food, and drinks were all wonderful. But our server, Ariana, was even better! She was so kind, bubbly, offered great recommendations, and overall just made sure our visit was wonderful!
Thank you! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
A neighborhood favorite with reliable food and friendly service, but crushingly loud. Unexpectedly this Sunday they also had a very loud jazz band which made conversation impossible. Fortunately they moved us to a quieter back booth.
Very nice restaurant; be sure to request a table far removed from the bar which is quite noisy. Food and service were good. However, they have oysters prominently noted on their menu; they should, then have more than two choices; both, in this case, from Virginia; not where those of us liking briny oysters would prefer. Other than that, again good food and service, many appealing choices and fair prices. Will be back.
We went to dinner this evening in order to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and everyone was friendly. That said, the server seemed pretty confused about what gluten is. He told me I could have couscous (made of wheat) but steered me away from another menu item, citing corn as the reason I couldn’t have it. Given that I’m not gluten-free by choice, I was worried from the start of the experience. I ended up ordering a salad and asked a different server to fill the kitchen in and flag me for an allergy.
My husband ordered the duck. It was considerably overcooked. The meat was grey and stringy, as if it had been sitting in its own fat under heat lamps. This is strange, given that we had an early reservation. The collards were macerated and lacked any texture.
This experience was really a head scratcher, given the many rave reviews found on this app. I doubt we will return.
Great experience overall. Our waiter was polite and pleasant and made great food recommendations. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. The food was delicious and and good presentation. I will definitely go back when I'm in town.
Thank you, we look forward to serving you again soon!
Waiter was great! Unfortunately they were out of the special, Mahi, for our 930 reservation but the duck was yummy. The white chocolate macadamia nut bread pudding was a bit disappointing. Probably just too much white chocolate but I give credit for trying something new.
I’ll try something different next time.
Thank you for your feedback - we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Good overall environment
Our waiter was really great the only down was the location of where we sat burn other than it was a great dine.
Great service and wonderful food.
Thank you for joining us, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
The food was amazing, the duck and blackened tuna were worth their weight in gold! Will definitely be going back!
Thanks so much! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
I rated it quiet because while there was music and conversations, which gave an energetic scene, the music was low enough to hear and enjoy without overwhelming the atmosphere. It complemented the environment.
Fantastic dining experience with my toddler. Great children’s menu with options for real food, not just pasta. The serving was pretty sizable and was saved for lunch the following day. I really appreciated that my server explained the vegetable preparation that I ordered for my daughter.
Food was brought out quickly (perhaps because I was with a child?) and our server was attentive and aware of our needs.
Highly recommended for families.
Great brunch options and they were consistent with the mimosas.
Great food, great service!
Thanks, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Food was ok- good but not spectacular. Service was so quick for the first half of the meal but then so slow for the second half. Seemed odd
Great! Delicious food, excellent service, attentive waitress.
The food was tasty and the ambiance was great. We were in no rush--so it didn't matter--but the service was rather slow and they brought the wrong orders twice.
Food was good with a varied selection. I recommend the Brick Pressed Chicken. Fried Green Tomatoes were fair, but the shrimp bites served with them were tasty. Out of a table of six all seemed to enjoy their meal. One dinner's french fries were lost/forgotten and served very late after having to ask the waitress for them.
The service was fabulous with a knowledgeable server and very helpful. The challenge is it has very limited vegetarian options and that one mains option was not that good. Too much quinoa, very dry and little portobello mushroom. Would have been better to be a grilled portobello with a side of quinoa. The other dishes that were not vegetarian were great. But they are at a location near GW and international finance agencies that a more veg friendly menu would be good
It was very noisy because of happy hour and we were unable to have a table comfortable for the number of people we had as we tried to sit where it was quieter. Acoustics could be improved! Service was excellent. Sorry to report that three of our party found the food less than recollected status. Two were fine. The steak tartare and scallops were not as tasty as usual. Just too noisy because of happy hour.
The food was delicious. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The service was great as well.
All was amazing, I will dine there again
Waiter not so great tonight. Food excellent and front desk staff excellent though.
This established, well regarded spot seems a bit off its game these days.
Great location, not far from Foggy Bottom metro station. Menu selection was perfect, not too pricey. Drink variety was even better. Went there for lunch but will definitely return after business hours. Ambience good, layout was such that you weren't too close to the next table. Highly recommended.
Thank you, hope to see you again soon!
Good atmosphere for a business lunch, and fantastic food.
Consistently good food and friendly service. Just can be a bit loud.
Thanks for the feedback! Next time we'd be happy to seat you at a quieter table, just let us know!
Excellent neighborhood choice. Great cocktails and food specials.
Thank you, hope to see you again soon!
Packed house, pretty good food but pricey, service slow. If you are going to the KenCen an OK choice if you don't mind the volume.
Lovely, big open space. Great brunch atmosphere and nice drinks. Loved the shrimp and grits and the hash! Barrel aged Manhattans are beautiful!
I eat at District Commons quite a bit. It is a lunchtime favorite with an upscale ambiance with a great budget for good quality food. The service is fast! Great menu choices!
My husband and I had a great dinner here! Only restaurant during our visit here where we were actually seated at a booth and not at a small table squished between lots of people. The food was good, we had space, great service, and didn’t feel rushed.
Food was amazing ... service a little slow. Worst is the hostess at 11:45 ... we arrived a 45 mins before our reservation didn’t sit us bc we were early. ( although there were open table available ) she is very unfriendly ... not a good hostess :(
First time for brunch, just as much of a winner as dinner!
Would absolutely suggest taking friends and family!
Thank you so much! Hope to see you again soon.
Wide open space not too loud. Bottomless mimosa and Bloody Mary for brunch. Food was good
Went there for lunch on a weekday with a reservation. They do a 3 course meal for flat price, it took just over 30 minutes to get our appetizers. Once we reached an hour, we gave up on the main course and dessert as it was a weekday and we had to return to work. Just as we were settling up, at about an hour and ten minutes, they brought our main course. At that point we were all so frustrated we just left it on the table. Bottom line: we paid for a 3 course lunch, only received appetizers, and lost about an hour and a half of our lives. Service was slow, unapologetic, and generally couldn’t have cared less that it took entirely too long.
