Great for dates! Service was incredibly attentive, will be returning in the future.
Excellent! Everything! Waitress, ambience, drinks, salad, portabella mushroom dish, pasta dish! Will go there again.
Truly fantastic food. A bit pricier, but absolutely worth it for a special occasion. Within walking distance from Kennedy Center as well.
Excellent soups. Pig board was good, though it should include more than two biscuits.
Enjoyed dinner. Crab cakes were good. Shrimp and grits were very good. Good upscale bar. Menu was a bit unfocused. Environment was a bit rustic. I will be back.
Thanks for joining us for the best crabcakes in DC (or so we're told!). Hope to see you again soon.
They took 10 minutes to greet us at the table. Another 10 minutes to get our drinks. When the food came, I did not have water or a drink. I asked for the drink menu, she brought it, and did not return until the meal was over.
Despite many four tops being open and despite having requested a booth, they first sat us at a table for 7 for 4 people. Asked to sit at booth again (many empty) and were left standing waiting to see if it was ok. Then, seated at booth in back next to bathroom entrance. Bathroom door closes with a wood on wood slam so it was fun listening to that happen 100 times during our meal. Food is about what you’d expect at Friday’s or Applebees. Mediocre on all counts. Best thing I can say is the vodka tasted like vodka.
Breakfasts were good but the service was quite slow.
Great Food! Great Service! Great Wait staff! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you again! See u soon!
Nice play. Menu isn't the standard stuff and that is a good thing.
A bit loud due to happy hour. But settled down nicely.
Overall a very nice meal.
Tagliatelle, it did not have a tasty flavor, also needed more salt
We came here for an anniversary dinner, and the staff surprised us with two complimentary glasses of bubbles! Thanks for making our evening extra special!
Everything delish! Crab cakes to die for. Mussels were off the hook
The service felt rushed at times, then slow like we were forgotten. Overall on a lively night it was a good choice. The food wa very good.
Were seated by a table right by the kitchen door which was, of course constantly opening and closing. This was at the back of the restaurant, while there were MANY other tables available in the front and by the window, all of which would have been a better choice. Food was mediocre. I had a special request to order one of the side vegetable separately on my plate, and I was told they were already mixed together. They came out separate, so easily could have been accommodated. The wine list is very limited, especially whites, and very low quality selections for high prices. I have been to this restaurant 2 years ago and had a better experience, and it was full. Now, half empty, and seems apparent why.
Had a pleasant brunch with friends at modern Pennsylvania Avenue spot. Enjoyed the pigboard and burger. While bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas are appealing the drinks were a bit watered down to compensate.
Saturday brunch. Nice selection. Good food and great service.
Had a business meal here with a larger group. Unfortunately it seemed like the waitress was not enthusiastic about either a big group or just being there. She rarely smiled and messed up a few orders. One of the food runners told her what was wrong and she looked over at us and went to several other tables. She was not attentive and didn’t seem to care that she messed up orders. Probably will go to Circa or North Italia instead for our next meal. It’s a shame because the location is great. Not a good experience!
Great service and food! Super close to GW campus! Our server was outstanding!
I was looking for a place where I could have a casual but nice dining experience (i.e. not a white table cloth fancy steak house and not a hole in the wall). District Commons was a great medium. I had the catch of the day Bronzino as did one of my clients. The other had one of the Mussels dishes. They also had a special sandwich of the day, Roast Beef au Jus which looked FIRE! but I was trying to stay lite. Fried green tomatoes were VERY good with shrimp and a vinegary red sauce on top (recommend). Service was great, not over bearing but on point and available when needed. Everything on the menu looked good to me and I will definitely be going back. I am glad I found this place on OpenTable.
The staff was courteous and very accommodating. Our waitress was professional, to the point and knowledgeable. Food was great and they did everything they could do to accommodate our restless family (with little ones). The pretzel was great! Could have had two more of those. I really liked the grits. And brunch was light but good. Ordered eggs and potatoes. Chocolate cake desert was outstanding. The part that was cake has the texture of mousse. It was magical. We will be visiting again! Besides, what adult doesn’t like bottomless mimosas!
Nice food, great ambience, but it was toooo noisy.
Good location. Fast service. Good food.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
Great food and nice service. Does get busy and crowded on the weekends
But not to anyone with hearing problems! The noise level was overwhelming!
Good food. Great service. A little loud. And the booth seats always make you think you need a booster seat.
Very friendly staff all around, and the food was phenomenal. The service was nothing short of fantastic. I was there with my wife to celebrate a very special occasion -- our waitress took note of this and welcomed us with a glass of champagne on the house.
Boyfriend and I started with the cinnamon sugar pretzel baguette which was really good. The seasonal butter that came with it was phenomenal. Boyfriend had crab cake sandwich and I got the brunch quesadilla, both were okay. Crab cake didn’t have any crisp, and there wasn’t enough egg in the quesadilla. Mimosas had too much orange juice. The brownie sundae was good—nice soft brownie (not warm, but still soft) and the ice cream reminded me of Cold Stone (two thumbs up). Service and ambiance was good. I’d give them another try.
Nice dinner with great service. The crab cake was good but just a ketchup container size of cole slaw. Could have used more. My dining partner had the pork chop. I tasted it. I was delicious!
Great servers and large portions
We arrived at 5:30 -- a little before the crowd, and it was very quiet and pleasant. As more people arrived, it remained easy to have a conversation. The food was not outstanding, but it was good for the value and we appreciated being close to the Metro and the Kennedy Center bus, which we took to the performance. District Commons provided what we were looking for. The service was very good.
Waitress was great brick chicken over couscous was outstanding. We asked about the seasoning on the chicken and the waitress brought us a list. Wonderful evening after a show at the Kennedy Center
Our meals were upscale diner breakfast food. But at full price. OK. But not a good value.
We came in to a half empty restaurant at 5:45pm and the host said it would be an hour wait. I get on open table and make a reservation for 12 minutes later. The place is still half empty, yet we have to stand there for 10 more minutes to get a table. Food was fine.
My server was AMAZING! I was dining by myself, watching a movie and just really trying to relax. He gave me time and space and didn’t rush me.
Consistently excellent food, very good service, very loud. Like, really loud.
Excellent all around. The seafood chowder was fantastic.
We were shown to a table at the back of the restaurant, which turned out to be surprisingly nice since we were able to talk without too much background noise. Really lovely venue for a birthday lunch with co-workers. Lobster roll (special on Monday) was great with plenty of lobster! Portobello mushroom & quinoa was very tasty. Three of us shared chocolate bread pudding with vanilla/bourbon ice cream for dessert (yum)! Service was great - our server Vanessa didn't hover, but was always there when we needed anything. Already looking forward to the next visit!
I love this restaurant however I feel like the lighting keeps getting brighter and brighter. It would be nice to have a little bit more ambience. Other than that the service is great and I love all the US sourced wines etc.
