The breakfast hash barely had any meat in it.
Valentines Day Brunch. Food was amazing. Service also!
The service and food were both good but it was so loud seated across from the bar it was almost impossible to have a conversation
I fully appreciated having a dinner at District Commons recently not only for the food and beverage, but for the excellent service and being placed in a seating area where you can actually enjoy a great conversation and relax. I had an opportunity to try a new scotch and now have added it to my list of choices to choose when dining. I also enjoyed the rockfish and the sides offered. If you are attending the theater, this is the place to go to make it an excellent evening.
Great service and good ambiance for a brunch and conversation with friends.
Good drinks, average food. Service was great and responsive
A theater evening. Food was good, but unremarkable. Portions were fine. Shrimp and grits were fine. Scallops special was well done, but salad was bland and no carb component left us wanting something more.
We had a great time! Food is delicious and service fantastic
Excellent, as always! A reservation is a must, as it is always justifiably crowded.
Great service, impeccable food and a warm atmosphere!
By far this is the best restaurant I have been to in the DC area in quite sometime. I am a huge proponent of paying attention to detail and DC did not miss a beat. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and I thought we would have to wait, but they had a table ready for us right away. They customized the menu for us to celebrate an occasion. Service was excellent, our waiter was very attentive and kept a check on us from afar looking for any indication that we might need something else. The food was completely amazing (The Pretzel Bread, yum). DC sets the bar for all other restaurant experiences. It was obvious to me that there staff is trained well and genuinely care about providing a great dining experience.
Great lunch spot with a low enough volume of noise to talk and hear conversation. Our group ordwered a few Southwest chicken salads and agree it was good but a bit too light on ingredients beyond the lettuce and as such, not filling. Pretzel bread was great
I went to District Commons for a work lunch with a bunch of colleagues. It had a good ambiance, with a wide enough options for price and food that everyone was able to find something that fit them. The servers were friendly and very accommodating to our large group (they had no problem splitting the check 7 ways). Overall, I had a good experience and would go back again.
Very noisy in main room but food great and excellent quick service before Kennedy Center performance
Best Shrimp and Grits!
Had dinner here before a show at the Kennedy Center. Could not have been more pleased. Both service and food were outstanding. 2 of us had the shrimp and grits and the other 2 had the root beer pork chop. Very close to the Foggy Bottom Metro stop. Looking for excuses to return!
Great brunch place. We had wonderful entrees, Bloody Mary's and great service. Price was very fair
Dirty glasses, rude hostess, luke warm food, super juiced down mimosas. Save your money for another spot. District Common does dinner and happy hour well, but should get out the brunch game.
Food and service was excellent. The Pretzel bread is terrific.
Food was well-prepared. I'd asked for a booth, and after being shown to a table asked again for a booth. We were seated in a booth, but I asked to be moved - was put right by the kitchen! We were dining early and the restaurant was mostly empty so I was a bit annoyed. Eventually we were seated at a decent booth.
Our server was good if a little pretentious in his service. One feedback comment - service staff wanted to take plates away before ALL diners were finished with dinner. It sends a message that the restaurant is trying to turn tables FAST. We had a theatre curtain so weren't planning to stay long, but we felt as if the restaurant was trying to rush us out the door.
I’ve been here once with family before. I came back again for a girlfriends brunch and had a great time. The service is always top notch and the food is great.
Jessica was an outstanding server! thank you!!! will definitely be back.
It was a very good brunch! Great food and mimosas!
The food was really low quality for the price.
Great place, good vibe, food was very good and the service was wonderful!
Great food and excellent service. Noise level is too high.
District Commons is always delicious. They change their menu as the seasons change so there’s always something new to try. And their pretzel bread is AMAZING.
We are frequent guests and very familiar with menu. However our waiter tried to talk us out of THREE choices. He said "the Thai steak salad is very spicy....are you sure?" He said "we cannot remove cilantro from the Southwestern Salad so maybe you don't want?" And last "I haven't tried the Market Fish today so can't recommend it"
We ordered what we wanted in spite of this and had a nice meal.
The staff was extremely rude. The food was good.
Love this place. The root beer pork chop with charred brussel sprouts and root mash was awesome. Oh and the donuts with strawberry jam. Magniique! Loved our red hair and bearded waiter! He was so cool.
Dinner before Kennedy Center event. Very tasty, convenient and moderately priced. Comfortable and we got a quiet table despite the noisy happy hour crowd. Good vegetarian selection!
Enjoyed a long lunch with my niece. We stayed way too long but the food was delicious, the staff pleasant, and we were able to enjoy great conversation.
Food was great but special shout out to our server, Oscar. I rarely have excellent service in DC but he raised the bar. He was very knowledgeable about wine and paired a bottle that worked with all 3 dinners. It was a business dinner and he "read" the table carefully to know when not to interrupt. Food was great but the service was unparalleled. Great job!
Restaurant week had it posted for lunch/brunch too and it didn’t honor...blurred lines but great food!
Good brunch menu and drink prices, very friendly service. A great option in this neighborhood.
We arrived early, got a table in the window, which was very small but comfortable and quiet. Our server was very attentive. We enjoyed our dishes. My only complaint is that my plate wasn’t warmed so my dinner went cold pretty quickly, something that Really annoys me but seems too petty to mention to a server, who’s not responsible for that anyway. I’d go there again.
I'm a regular and I love this place. Kudos on the Restaurant Week menu options. I loved the blackened red fish and the gumbo. Delicious.
The food was subpar and overpriced in my opinion! Many better brunch spots in dc!!
Was one of our favorite places, but we took a couple there for the first time, and there was a hair in the crab cake sandwich. Needless to say, it colored our experience.
I went to District Commons for lunch for Restaurant Week - based on many that I have been to, this is one of the best restaurant week lunch menus. The menu provided options for an appetizer, an option from almost the full entrée list and a dessert. I had the seafood soup for my appetizer, the scallop special for my entrée with white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. My friend had the butternut squash entrée and chocolate cake for dessert. She said that it was one of the best lunches that she has had. The service was attentive and excellent. A really great choice.
