Any steak has to have the gorgonzola spread. Wow what flavor.
Outstanding food, great service. Quirky decor - this used to be a bank. The restrooms are in the basement, along with a private dining room and the vault! We had a delightful young server called Ebony, who was very attentive but not intrusive. Overall one of the best meals we had in Washington.
The server forgot our appetizer. The manager took it off the bill. It was not busy at all. Around 2pm on a weekday.
The food was good.
Always an enjoyable experience
Usually my experience at District Chophouse is exemplary, but my most recent visit was meh. First my reservation was given to someone else. When members of my party arrived we were sat at a less desirable location than the one for which we were reserved. Our waiter did not provide us with the prix fixe lunch menu option which I didn’t appreciate. I thought perhaps it was no longer available and learned later it still was. One person requested their salmon topped with Oscar preparation, the waiter seemed annoyed because she did not have a steak. She insisted that she has had it before and the menu does not specify that you must have a steak in order to have it. Finally, our party of 7 was celebrating the birthday of two friends. We asked the bill be split evenly 5 ways. The waiter insisted this was too difficult to do, and instead of splitting the bill 5 ways presented everyone with their own check. I was so surprised by how many simple requests became complicated. Despite this I imagine I would return again.
I went here for date night, because we were looking for good food in a casual like atmosphere. My recommendation - order the New Zealand Lamb Chops. They were so delicious.
Avoid the white cheddar mash potatoes, they were not that great and way too heavy.
Great food and atmosphere very classic great beer. Will definitely return for dinner. Get the spinach artichoke dip!
Always great food and service. Get the onion ring tower. They support law Enforcement so they get 5 stars for that alone.
Had a very good experience at the chophouse. Our server Kevin was amazing. Food was good, I had a strip that did not exibit the characteristics of a “Angus” steak as it was not as tender as I would have expected. I would say the food was VERY good just a little underwhelming. I WOULD go back here again. Reservations are a MUST. My party arrived and was immediately seated.
Cornbread was very tasty!
The service was slow and inaccurate (the waiter brought incorrect items of food and at the end brought the wrong bill). The corn bread is great and the food was fine.
We have been coming every year for the last 9 years. The food is amazing and our service is always great. If we lived closer, we would be there all the time
Very professional service and exceptionally prepared food. In the 10+ occasions we’ve visited District Chophouse (we visit DC annually) we’ve always been pleased with our experience. The atmosphere is terrific for both causally and formal dinners. It is moderately expensive, but the quality of service and food is worth it.
Our waiter was AMAZING, he was very attentive to our immediate needs, as well as the ones we didn't know that we needed :-) (such as - suggestions, ideas, cleanliness of the table...etc.). The food was incredible as always, the salmon was a big hit, cooked to perfection. The room was energetic but still quite enough for an intimate conversation. Another big hit is the lobster salad-soooo good!
Dine here for lunch. Great good and service. We were in town for Police Week and found this restaurant to be very supportive of law enforcement.
Great place to enjoy a business casual meal, great service and amazing decor
The District Chophouse is a yearly favorite spot for us! The service is wonderful and the food is delicious!
Mother’s Day. The experience was great and we really enjoyed the food. We loved our waitress Sheba. She was great and so nice to all of us.
Once again enjoyed District Chophouse during National Police Week. We had reservations which made the dining experience that much easier. We also found room at the bar before dinner; very good and amiable bartender. T.J. was our waiter; good dinner suggestions, most friendly.
This was our third trip here. We love that beer brewed is on site. The waiter was super friendly and very knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. He even allow us to try a couple of brews before actually ordering which help immensely. This place has become our top place to visit anytime we are in the district.
Great! We’ll be back! Delicious and fun atmosphere! Excellent service
We celebrated Mother’s Day with 11 family members from all over the #DMV and couldn’t have picked a better restaurant to host our gathering. The service provided by Lisa was impeccable and the food was superb! Thank You District Chophouse For A Great Mother’s Day 2019!!!!
As always, the steaks were excellent. The sides were average. There was an issue with the back of house. Our entrees were delivered before our appetizers. The issue was quickly addressed and resolved, with the cost of the appetizers removed from our bill. All in all, a decent dining experience. We will return.
The prime rib (which is a house specialty) came out cold/lukewarm which was a tad bit disappointing.
Took the family out for an early Mother’s Day dinner. Super service. Food was fantastic.
This year we decided to have Mother's Day dinner early. District Chophouse was the only place who could fit our party. Our server TJ was AWESOME!!! He took GREAT care of us all!!! I would definately go back to have him as my server!!!
Our server Sheba was friendly and provided outstanding service. The food was delicious! Great place to take a date or friend when visiting DC, it’s near the National Portrait Gallery so DIstrict Chophouse could cap off a fun day.
We have eaten dinner several times at the District Chophouse and we have never been disappointed. The tenderloin tips are always a win!!!! Servers are friendly and attentive, even during dinner rush. Don’t pass this place up!
Nice upscale restaurant with plenty of menu options.
My favorite place in DC! Delicious food, excellent service, great decor and superb jazz in the background. the cornbread alone makes me return! This time I shared carrot cake with a friend for his birthday — it was yummy! Just about as good as my own which is amazing! 😃
District Chop House has Great food, great beers, and great service.
It is always a pleasure visiting the Chophouse. We always get excellent service and the food is ssssoooo ggooood!
I made the reservation for my daughter and her friends for their prom dinner. They had a wonderful time, enjoyed their meal, and were happily surprised when the manager complimented them on their good behavior and gave them free desserts. The staff went out of their way to make their special evening even more special. That is the sign of a good establishment. We definitely will be patronizing this establishment again.
Ordered a Prime Ribeye medium rare and it came out medium well. Unfortunately, we had a show to attend and we’re on a schedule so not enough time to recook. Good news is that the starter salad was large enough to fill me up.
The Chophouse is always an excellent experience. Our server was new, so there was likely a bit of a learning curve.
Everything was wonderful. I ordered the Lobster and Seafood Salad, which was heavenly.
I was disappointed with the meal. Have been to District Chophouse several times over the years and this meal was not good. In the past food quality and service were better.
Excellent service and delicious steak. Nice variety of wines and beers.
Our waiter seemed confused, forgot to bring cocktails until we asked, never brought the soup which we forgot about until we saw it on our receipt later that night. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food we received was good, but I did not appreciate being charged for soup I did not receive.
Great food, reasonable prices, nice ambiance — a definite stop for a terrific lunch.
