My husband and I had a wonderful experience, great food and great service!
Great dining experience! Our server, Justin, was attentive without being intrusive. He was very personable and made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant. Will definitely be returning for the food and for Justin!
We were so impressed with the food, our meal was so delicious! Sat outside on a beautiful Saturday night. Had a bottle of vino, it was all good. No complaints here whatsoever
Beautiful spot outside. Great food. Our waiter was a real pro. Loved the whole night
Disotto never disappoints. The menu is excellent, the wine selections are always good and the service is friendly.
Outdoor seating was in street with cars driving right next to us so. It real comfortable. Server was one of the best ever. Food was very good, portions fair. Wine was totally overpriced though.
birthday celebration was just lovely!
Disotto is awesome. They made a good outdoor patio and the food never disappoints. They accommodated our gluten free/allergy guest really well.
Loved our server. The eggplant parmesan was cold.
A great evening on the terrace!
We couldn't have had a nicer dinner for two, and our waitress Nadia was a big reason why. My wife had the whitefish and I had the pappardelle bolognese, and we loved both. We shared a caesar salad that had very little dressing, and when we mentioned it to Nadia, she immediately comped it (although that wasn't our intent). Before dinner, the bartender made a great dirty Sapphire martini, and we enjoyed very good glasses of pinot noir and chianti classico over dinner. On top of all that, the weather was beautiful!
I was disappointed in the short rib ravioli special. All you tasted was mushrooms. The outside dinning was great and service was good.
Delicious burrata and brussel sprouts for appetizer. Then ordered 5 pastas for the table -- each one better than the next. Outstanding bolognese, caccio e pepe, ravioli, linguine with seafood. Waiter was super helpful with wines and great service overall. Sat outside and felt very safe with distance of tables. An outstanding evening.
11 out of 10!!!
We've been to Disotto multiple times over the last couple of years. Its a wonderful restaurant with great ambience and wonderful food. This time we ate outside on their extended patio (street actually). The waiter was very attentive, and the staff was very quick so as not to hover around the table. We started with (excellent) cacio de pepe, and each had an entree that was full of flavor. Big win. We'll be back.
There were 4 of us, and we chose to eat inside. The restaurant followed all of the CDC requirements, was clean and appropriately distanced. The waiter Justin was superb. He gave us great service, honest dinner suggestions. The food was outstanding. I had the chicken and potatoes, my husband had the veal chop, our friends had the steak, and chicken piccata. We were all very satisfied with our meals. We will definitely be back.
We had a terrific meal at Disotto last evening. We all greatly enjoyed the mussels, Caesar salad, and our individual entrees. Be sure to get the brussel sprouts and the chicken limone was also delicious. The wine selection we chose was very good and the server was very helpful in picking just the right one for us. We have eaten here many times, but is it possible the food has gotten better during COVID?
They were very busy with most sitting outside on a beautiful cool August evening. We decided to sit inside, the tables were appropriately spaced and few guests were inside.
The service was very good as usual and the food was fantastic. We took our time and spoke with a number of the staff including the head chief. This is the 6th time we have been there since the reopening of restaurants and they do a great job. We will control return at least twice a month.
Great food, great service.
Standard Italian fare, not that creative but very well executed. The outdoors dining setup was great, given current circumstances. The restaurant made full use of the sidewalk space in the front as well as the adjoining alley.
Everything was perfect!
We sat at the end of the bar in the little alcove and it was nice and cool and intimate.
Disotto was disappointing, but not terrible. It had no real Italian feel to it and the food was unconvincingly Italian (written by one who has eaten all over Italy and in countless American/Italian restaurants) . Our party of 6 made clear in the reservation that this was celebrating two birthdays (90 and 60), making it rather obvious that this was not a young crowd. But we were seated next to an enormous and deafening fan that reduced almost all conversation to sign language, lip-reading and guesswork. The waiter seemed inordinately Covid-fearful for someone waiting tables during a pandemic. Service was fine and the food was well-prepared and generally tasty, though creativity sometimes exceeded authenticity. Portions were adequate and prices were moderate except for an absurdly overpriced wine list. But next time we are looking for Italian food in Highwood, once the best place in metro-Chicago for Italian cuisine, we will try elsewhere.
Dinning was great as usual. Service attentive.
We love this place! The food and the service never disappoint. Sunday brunch is amazing.
We eat at DiSotto on special occasions and have been going there since they opened. The other night was are wedding anniversary. The tables were spaced apart and they seemed to be taking all the correct steps with Covid.
Food and wine were really good and I can highly recommend them as a restaurant. However, our server was terrible. She came over once to get our drink order, disppeared before we could tell her we wanted appetizers. When we were finally served our appetizers she immediatly asked us "what do you want for dinner". After we told her we would wait a bit she said nothing but just walked off. Not anything like "Great, I will check with you in a bit" but just walked away. When she came back after about 15 minutes she did not offer any help with the menu but just said "what do you want?" We ordered without her offering any suggestions (actually without her speaking at all) and then we didn't see her again until she wanted to give us the check which she handed to us without asking if there was anything else she could help us with.
I am trying not to sound petty like some of the reviews I read but it is actually one of our favorite restaurants and we will still go there. But lousy service really can lessen a dining experience.
Beautiful night. Great food, service and friends.
The food is always delicious! The bolognese, and cavatelli was delicious ! We also had the burger which was probably one of the best burgers we’ve ever had !!! YUM!
The servers are courteous and always attentive . This is one of the best Italian restaurants . We enjoy it each and every time we dine here!
Pastas were Terrible
Always consistently great meals at Disotto!
Love this place. One of our favorite spots in Highwood!
Disotto was really good. The outdoor seating on the side of the restaurant is really nice and away from the street traffic.
Good job! Service was nice and the food was delicious.
We had an exceptional outdoor dining experience. The food and ambiance transported us to Italy.
Our waitress was fantastic (Kati?) and the food was great. They really made it feel like a special night as it was our first wedding anniversary. My wife said the doughnuts were probably the best donuts she’s ever had. Food was served fast and piping hot!!!
We both had the specials and they were SOLID. Very good food and great service.
Outdoor dining. Social distancing and masks were in place. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful
The service was very good. Both our pastas had a very bitter after taste so we didn’t finish the meal. The sparkling wine ordered was flat. The waitress was good but first time at this restaurant and won’t return.
We had a beautiful evening. Saturday night extra was music playing through the town.
This is a great restaurant with incredible food and outstanding wine. The service was good but not great. We ordered a cocktail that turned out to be awful and when we asked to exchange it for wine, we got pushback from the server, who also seemed less than knowledgeable about the food. We asked if one pasta dish had a red sauce and she said no, but when it came, it was clearly a red sauce. That's a mistake no server at this level of restaurant should ever make. If you don't know, check, don't give incorrect information. Having said that, the food was terrific and the wine, especially the wide selection available, was fantastic.
Wonderful team at this restaurant. They always make the diners feel welcome, like a personal guest.
My lemon chicken was dry. I was really hoping it would be moist. The server was great though!!!
Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.
They kept our outdoor reservation right on time. The food was fantastic, and service was very friendly, courteous and safe.
Will return again.
Everything was great . As usual. Food delicious. Service excellent.
